Plans Change || Fourteen

Cariah's POV:

Today I had school. And since I'm a senior and graduate in a few months I have to be on top of my shit.

"Hey Cariah" Zoe-Jane said as she walked up to me.

"Hey. How was your mom's house?" I asked.

"It was alright. Nothing crazy happened. Oh wait actually my mom met with a lawyer" she said.

"For what?"

"She said she's determined to get full custody"

"Do you think she can do that tho? I mean dad has a pretty big income. No offense to your mom cuz I love her but you know dad makes bank" I said.

"I don't know. I don't know if a judge would see his income and automatically think he's the better parent"

"Either way there's no way you can leave me in that house. I'll die without you" I said as my phone buzzed.

"Yeah right you have Colby now" she said. I took my phone out of my pocket and saw I had a message from him.

From Colby:

I miss you already.

Had lots of fun with you last night.

We should do it again sometime 😏

I laughed which caught Zoe-Jane's attention.

"What's funny?" She asked.

"Oh nothing" I said. She looked at me before grabbing my phone and slighting running away.

"ZJ give it back" I said.

"You had sex with Colby didn't you?" She asked once I got to her.

"Um no" I said.

"Oh my god you did. Cariah that's sick he's dad's age" she said as she gave me my phone back.

"Okay yes I did. But please don't tell anyone. I don't turn 18 for a couple months and I don't want Colby to get in trouble" I said.

"I won't. But still. Gross"

"You need to get laid. Actually no I take that back. You're 16 you don't need to get laid" I said.

"Yeah says the one who got pregnant at 16"

"Hey that's because I was stupid and uneducated. Now you have me to educate you. So don't have sex. Like ever"

"Sure thing. Anyway I'll see you after school" she said as she started walking away and towards her friends.

"Bye"

It was after school and Colby and I were planning to go to the mall. He has an appearance to make this weekend and he said he wanted to get some new clothes and he needed my help. But before I meet up with him I have to take Zoe-Jane home.

I got into my car and sent Colby a text.

To Colby:

Gotta take my sister home then I'll head to the mall

As soon as I pressed send Zoe-Jane got in the car with her best friend Ashley.

"Hey"

"Hey so Im dropping you guys off at home then going to the mall" I said.

"You're going to the mall? I wanna go to the mall" Zoe-Jane said.

"No ZJ I'm taking you home" i said.
