Plans Change || Nineteen

Cariah's POV:

We walked up to the door and Colby rang the doorbell.

"Seahorse" i said.

"What?"

"Seahorseeee" i said.

"Cariah i already rang the door bell what am I supposed to do?" He said in a whisper.

"Ummmm-" I started but the door opened revealing an older woman.

"Uhhhh hi, Alicia" Colby said awkwardly.

"Hi Colby. It's nice to see you again and you must be Cariah" she said as she hugged me. It get nice. Nice seeing someone from my moms side of the family who, up until this point, was nonexistent.

"Yeah. And I'm sorry but we actually have-" Colby started but I cut him off.

"A lot of questions" I said.

"Fine with me. Com on in" she said before walking back into the house.

"Are you sure?" Colby whispered.

"Yeah Im fine" I said. He smiled and kissed my cheek causing me to smile

"I'm right here with you the whole time" he said as he grabbed my hand.

"Thank you" he let go of my hand and we walked inside and sat on the couch. My grandmother sat on a couch across from us.

"I'll answer any questions you have" she said.

"Umm what was my mom like?" I asked.

"She was great. She was very to herself but people loved her personality. She was very supportive of everyone and she always motivated people to want to do better" she said.

"Wow. That's great" I said.

"So how have you been Cariah?" She asked me.

"Um I've been okay" I said.

"How is your family? Do you have a stepmom? Siblings? Where do you guys live?" She asked.

"My family is alright. I don't have a stepmom. It's just my dad and I do have another sister than lives with us. Her name is Zoe-Jane and she's 15. And we live in Anaheim" I said.

"Wow that's great. And what about you Colby?" She asked.

"I live in LA also. I'm a full time youtuber" he said.

"Any kids? Or a wife?" She asked and it almost made me laugh.

"No. No kids yet. And no wife either. Just living my best life" he said.

"How did you guys meet?" She asked.

"Ummm Colby" I said looking at him.

"Well she was telling her dad about this guy she's been watching on YouTube which was me and he introduced us" Colby said.

"Wow. That's great"

We conversed a little longer and it was great. Colby and I were actually getting ready to leave when a girl walked into the living room.

She looked like she was maybe a little younger than Colby.

"Oh my god. Little Cariah Colbie Brooks. I can't believe I'm finally meeting my cousins baby girl" she said as she walked over to me and hugged me.

"Oh hi" I said very confused. I looked over at Colby and he also looked confused.

"Sorry. I'm Riley. Your mom was my cousin" she said.

"Oh hi. Nice to meet you" I said with a smile.

"You must be Colby right?" She asked.

"Yeah that's me. And you said your name is Riley?" He asked.

"Yup"

"How come me and you never met? I was with Jade for almost a year and I never heard about you" Colby asked.

He's suspicious of something.

"I used to love in South Dakota but I moved back a few years ago. I've been living with my aunt but I never really came around so that could be why you've never heard of me" she explained.

"Oh. Okay" he said.

"Seahorse" he whispered to me.

"Anyway we should actually probably get going" I said.

"How long are you going to be in town?" Riley asked.

"Probably the rest of the weekend" Colby said.

"Well you guys should stop by tomorrow. We can show you pictures of you mom and our family" Riley suggested.

"Yeah sounds good"

We left and went back to Colby's parents house. Colby went and lay is in his bed.

"Come here" he said. I went and laid next to him and he wrapped his arms around me.

"So how do you think that went?" He asked me.

"I think it went great. I got to meet my grandma and a cousin" I said.

"Yeah about that, call me crazy but I think Riley is actually Jade" he said. I looked at him like he was crazy.

"Colby that's insane. My mom died. Twice as a matter of fact. There's no way that's her" I said.

"It's just very weird. They look EXACTLY the same. Like you look just like your mom but Riley looks more like her than you do. And she sounds exactly like her. It's so weird" he said.

"I think you're looking too far into it" I said.

"Maybe"

"So is there a mall around here? I need to get some new clothes" I said.

"Not here in Sanger but there's one in Fresno. It's like a 25 minutes drive. We can go tomorrow" he said.

"Sounds good" i said before taking a deep breath.

"Are you okay"

"Yeah. This is just a lot to deal with" I said.

"What is?"

"Finding out my dad has been lying to me, meeting you, meeting some of my moms family, and my dad harassing me to stay away from you" I said.

"I'm sorry you're getting this all thrown at you at once" he said as he tightened his grip around me.

"It's fine. But thank you so much for being by my side" I said as I kissed his cheek.

"Of course" he said.

I think I really like him.
