David's Pov

My friend, Percy, was yet again stuck at the end of the lunch line turning down a girl who is currently crying over getting rejected by the 'hottest guy in the school.' All of the girls' words, not mine. Anyways, even though he's my friend I am so jealous of him. I try not to act on it, of course, but he turns down every girl in the school and I've never even dated someone. I know I'm two years younger than him and I'm just a sophmore, but it hurts sometimes to know that so many people are willing to love him, but none want to love me. Or come near me.

Percy finally sat down at our group table with a nervous smile on his face.

"What's wrong Percy?" Yvonne asked in a caring motherly tone. Percy looked like he's about to vomit which got the rest of our attentions.

"Guys, I need to tell you guys something." he spoke in a shaky voice and he opended his mouth and froze. If you have ever met Percy Jackson, you'll know that's a worrying sign.

"What is it Percy, you can tell us." Polly asked while rubbing his back.

"I'm sort of dating someone." he spat out quickly.

"At a boy, Percy. Why were you so nervous?" I asked while taking a swift drink of my chocolate milk.

"Because, sort of, I'm kind've dating, um, a guy." he squeaked and put his red face into his hands.

We were silent all except for the milk being shot of my nose.

"Why didn't you tell us, Percy?" I finally choked out. I mean I'm not homophobic or judgemental, but Percy flirtatious Jackson is gay, or bi? I didn't see it coming.

"This is why, you guys must hate me now." he choked out without looking up.

"Not at all, we just did not see this coming. I think I speak for all of us when I say we all accept you." Yvonne's sentences were supported with a chorus of 'yeah's and 'definitely's.

Except for Kyle, "Fag." I know Kyle is raised in a highly Christian household, but so is Polly. I just don't get homophobes. I mean why does it matter to them, how does it effect them? What makes them feel so strongly against gays.

Percy looked up, a completely heartbroken look on his face. He quickly stood up and ran out. Kyle is also a senior and has been friends with Percy since they were freshmen. No wonder he's so hurt over that.

The girls stood up and started to yell at Kyle as I ran out after me. Before I made it out of the lunchroom I heard Kyle yelling and now, everyone will know about Percy. He's not in the closet anymore.

I found Percy slumped against the lockers with tears streaming down his face, but he is making absolutely no noises.

"Percy." I spoke and his head whipped around to face me. I helped him up and hugged him. I went to retreat back, but he collapsed into sobs and I hugged him back to my chest tightly. "It's alright man. We got your back. Everyone knows, now though, just be prepared."

He pulled back and startd to compose himself. "I'm sorry about the whole crying thing, I'm not usually that emotional."

I chuckled a little bit. "I know, Percy. I'm one of your friends, I know you, and you don't got to apologize." I sighed, "Percy, I've been jealous of you for the whole time I've known you. Girls throwing themselves at you left and right. Your confidence and carefree attitude just totally blew me away. So I'm sorry acted a bit mean when I first met you, but don't suddenly change because people are suddenly trying to get you down. Remember, we got your back."

"Thanks, Dave." he smiled thankfully at me and I felt relief flood over me. My frantic ranting actually worked for once.

The End of the Day

My friends and I, no longer including Kyle, walked outside. Percy was grinning like a cheshire cat*** and he nearly squealed when an all black expensive car**** drove up. A boy who looked about sixteen***** stepped out of the driver's seat. He had pitch black, shaggy hair, obsidian eyes, pale skin, and was wearing an avaitors jacket black, skeleton t shirt, and black jeans. He stepped out and smiled over at us. He walked straight up to Percy, and Polly was about to get defensive, when the boy pushed Percy against the wall and started to out with him.

Percy's fingers tangled themselves into the boy's hair and he wrapped his arms around Percy's waist. After what seemed like an eternity they broke apart for air and smiled breathlessly at us, the boy more shyly than Percy.

"Guys, this is Nico, my boyfriend. Who apparently has been driving illegally. " he smirked down at the boy who rolled his eyes and clasped hands with Percy.

"I'm basically fifteen, so I'm just going to say it counts. Besides my fake driver's license is perfect." Nico said. Wait, he's dating a fourteen year old?!

"Your fourteen?" Yvonne asked.

"People are so fixated on ages these days." Nico muttered when suddenly we heard a yell.

"Fags!"

"Go kill your selves!"

"Just die!"

Kyle and his newly recruited cronies shouted than laughed. Nico sprinted over and punched Kyle in the nose, then roundhouse kicked a guy, the another guy got a right hook right in the jaw. The rest of them ran off and Nico stalked back. The skin on his one fist is split and bleeding and his eyes are watering.

"Its alright, babe." Percy kissed Nico then stood up and smiled. "I'm driving."

Nico smiled then went and sat in the passenger side. Percy turned to us, "Thanks guys." He walked up to me and handed me a piece of paper. "There's a single girl looking for a nice guy to date, give her a call."

Percy ran back and jumped into the car and drove off.

I looked down at the card and dialed the number.  I think gratefully:Thanks, Perce.

I am not homophobic, I do not support what Kyle and his cronies were shouting, ever need someone to talk to I am all ears. :)

***=I read this saying in another fanfic so I am sorry if I used this saying wrong
****=I am not a car person
*****=I know he's not sixteen, I am merely implying he looks sixteen
