I groggily pulled the velvet covers from over my head. I was up late once again due to the party at Kelsey Wieners house.  It was Sunday and my plan was not to leave this bed under no circumstances whatsoever.  My dad wasn't home; he was probably at stepmom number two house for the weekend, again. As for my mom, I won't see her for another week, sadly enough.

As I rolled over to grab my laptop, my phone began to ring off the hook.

"I wish that I could wake up with amnesia.

Forget about all the stupid things.

Like the way, it felt to fall asleep next to you.

And the memories I never can escape.

'cause I'm not fine at all"

"Ugh, it's ten in the morning, what do you want?" I yelled into the phone, clearly agitated with whoever was calling. "Veronica that is no way to talk to your grandmother, are you okay dear? Do you want me to call your dad?"

I should've been smarter and actually looked at who was calling me. Rookie mistake.

If she called and he came home, I would surely get into trouble, I couldn't handle that right now.

"Hey Gram Gram, everything fine, just piled in a ton of homework and I couldn't be bothered" I replied trying to sound as calm as I can be.

"Okay dear, I'll let you get back to your studies sweetie, don't forget about your granny though," she said and hung up.

I threw my iPhone across the floor, swinging my feet off the side of the trundle bed. I was in desperate need of pineapple juice, it helps with hangovers. Or at least that's what I read online somewhere.

My pounding head reminded me of the night I just endured. I'd have to make sure to thank Kelsey for throwing such a great party.

While walking through the hallway, I stopped and stared at myself in the floor length mirror.

I have creamy tan skin with dark red hair - that I just recently dyed, attempting to stray from the natural black, that I've grown bored with.

My curly hair was currently straightened back, small pieces of my roots were beginning to curl back up from the sweating last night.

My big brown eyes popped underneath my long eyelashes and smeared black eyeliner. The freckles on my face danced around my nose and cheeks.

My lips- full and pink, but slightly dehydrated. I grimaced at the sight of them. My body was simple, small petite but average size breast and deep hips due to my Latin roots.

I noticed the small red mark on the left side of my neck, I will surely have to cover that up before anyone sees it and starts questioning my intentions.

A wave of disappointment showered over me as I saw the jagged white lines that were engraved across my thighs. I begin to reminisce the sadness that I faced, it caused an unsettling feeling in my stomach. I sighed and walked away from the sight.

Swigging back the tart pineapple juice, I looked at the vacant house. Everything seems so well and put together. The living room held a large flat screen, black couches that looked new and barely touched, the sunlight peeped through the dark curtains allowing a tad bit of light inside.

The family portraits hung around the living room, all supposedly giving off a "homey" environment. We sat next to one another, smiling ear to ear, posing as if we were the big happy family. Sadly, it was just more disappointment. The house was too quiet and too empty.

I chuckled at myself and walked back to the comfort of my room.

I am going back to sleep.
