I was pissed at Veronica , I hated what she did to me , but I hated what she did to Carter more.
" Carter " I knocked on her door softly
I heard her sniffle , it killed me inside
" Yea- , I'm okay " she said with a sad tone
I opened her door quietly , she looked up
Her hair was a mess, her face was dull and red .
Her glossy eyes pained me. I hated seeing her like this.
As I walked in the room , I stepped on a paper
Two words scribbled across them messily
"I'm sorry "
Veronica had written it ,
" what's that " I heard a scratchy voice it was Carter
I passed the note over to her , she read it and looked at me with worried eyes
She slowly got up and walked to Veronica door , me trailing behind
She crept the door open , the room was a mess , all the drawers were open, the emergency money she kept was gone.
Veronica was gone.
Devin POV
I was slowly waking up , Sam sat next to me he looked exhausted.
He definitely haven't slept, he was staring at the tv which showed the news .
" Sa-m" I whispered out , my mouth was dry
He handed me the water with a smile .
" I'm glad your awake bro "
He handed me my phone a song was playing
I was reading the lyrics
" Let me take you out of this town,
Let me do it right now, baby,

Let's get out of this place,

Within this teenage wasteland."
I had a message from Veronica
" moving on "
Me : ?
Her : I left
Me ; you left where ?
Her : new life
Me : Veronica , don't do something crazy , I'm here for you
Her ; I like you , ya know
I showed Sam the message with a grin on my face
He knew I was happy . I really liked her
A girl on the internet. And she likes me and I like her .
