Kage and his over protectiveness

"Oh no, no, no, no, no! She's bringing Caleb with her." I tell Kage as he goes back to stacking his needles.
"Who? That handsome devil?" Kage says, showing zero percent of interest in my wrecking life.
I start pacing around in the room checking myself in the mirror and say, "Yes him. Caleb is also in our group of science. He is so smart, and intelligent and smells like a bottle of axe body spray...." I say staring at the wall getting lost in my imaginary world where Caleb and I are dancing and...

"That's because he uses a lot of axe body spray. Point?" He shouts the last word from the bathroom keeping back his needles in the medicine drawer, snapping me out of my daydreams.

"Yeah so the point is that I have to get ready, I haven't prepared anything on our ecology project and my room's a mess!" I say running to the couch and picking up my novel which I'm reading and keep it in its place. I turn facing the room and examine it, taking a mental note of things that need to be in their place that's when I realize that the room is clean.

I hate messy rooms, so I clean it whenever I don't have anything else to do. I'm sort of a -

"Neat freak" Kage says rolling his eyes and plopping himself down on his bean bag.
"No I'm not!" I'm not agreeing, that he is right again.

There's a knock on my bedroom door and Anna comes in with her bowl of pasta and Caleb behind her. Caleb is wearing his navy blue T-shirt with black denim smelling like axe. And Anna in her fav pink button down crop top with 3 quarter orange pants. A funny color combination which only she can rock.

"Hey Kage! And wassup Tori?" Anna says sitting on my bean bag, just beside Kage with a mouth full of pasta.

She needs to stop pretending as if she can see Kage. Last year when she caught me speaking to myself I explained her that how only I can see Kage. Since then she looks into thin air and acts as if she can also see Kage and talk to him as if he is standing in front of her, when he is actually just beside her.

P.S: Kage secretly likes Anna but he won't say.

"Hi Tori. And who's Kage?" Caleb says not understanding even a bit about what's happening around.

"Kage means shadow. I'm saying Hi to my shadow. What did you learn in Japanese class last year?" Anna says acting annoyed with Caleb's stupid, well, not-so-stupid question. That's Anna: no-no-nonsense-taken.

"Hi Caleb. Why are you standing in the doorway? Come in, make yourself comfortable." I say gesturing him to sit on my study table.

"Don't make yourself too comfortable, brainless idiot" Kage says to Caleb despite knowing that he can't hear, but just to annoy me, without looking up from his book.

"Thanks. I brought you some peanut butter cookies. Hope you like them" Caleb hands me the neatly packed box of cookies.

"You hate peanut butter. Look Tori, this is what I'm talking about. A brainless idiot." Kage says standing up, annoyed with Caleb's friendly gesture.

"Thank you so much, I'll keep them in kitchen and - " before I could complete my sentence Anna comes up taking the box from my hand saying that she will do it and get herself more pasta. As usual, Kage also follows her to the kitchen and now, it is me and Caleb alone in the room. The silence is so awkwardly loud. So, In an attempt to save us both from embarrassing ourselves I make an excuse to rush out of the room and bump myself in Caleb's chest resulting his books to fall on the floor.

Can I be more embarrassing than this?

"Sorry, sorry. I was just... Let me help" I apologize.

I kneel down on the floor and start picking up books.

"Tori, It's fine" He also follows me to the floor and grabs my arm motioning for me to stop. I look up as he stares at me  with those deep brown eyes of his, which are impossible to not look at. We both are looking in each other's eyes with an urge to wrap ourselves around. And just when he moves a little closer -

"Don't!" Kage whispers in my ear, making me flinch and distracting Caleb from continuing what he was about to do.

Let them leave and Kage is dead today.

"Oh! Seems like I interrupted something. I'll come back later." Anna says making the situation more heated as it already is.

"Nope. Nothing was happening. Caleb was just collecting his books from the floor" I'm not a bad liar, just my body doesn't support me in lying as my cheeks turns red.

"What is your god damn problem? Couldn't you see that we were having a moment? Is it your life's mission to mess all my relations?" I say angrily picking up the discarded color papers from the floor

"What did I do? I was just warning you before you made any wrong decisions of your life. For example, kissing Caleb." Says the boy who is not even merely interested in my life.

"How do you know kissing him would've been a 'wrong decision'. Last time I checked you weren't a fortune teller or something." I reply getting annoyed with his overprotective-rude-friend behavior.

This is what Kage did to Zack. Freaked him out by completing his homework so that he thought that he was going mad or something, cause he didn't remember even picking up his homework.
And then Ben. Ben was one of those sexy football players who always won the game. Kage didn't spare him as well. He pointed the ball to the left side  just before Ben could swing his leg for the penalty kick and score the last point. This resulted him falling on the ground and getting his leg fractured. Which meant he couldn't play anymore thus he became from the popular football player to a defected piece.

And now he's after Caleb who looks just like him. They both share the same sense of dressing and style of speaking, rude and caring at the same time. I've liked Caleb since the moment I met him but he never knew I even existed until now when we are paired up for this eco project.

"Stop using your uper compartment of hay" meaning my brain "and sleep. I'll prove tomorrow why it was a bad idea." Kage promises.

He better have a good reason tomorrow.
