Gake and its mysteries

"I'm shocked Gloria that you didn't know until now." Caleb says as Gloria's jaw drops open.

Where as I am still struggling to find my voice to deny all rumors, which are sort of true....

"So what? Is she a psycho or something?" Windy asks out of utter shock.
To which Caleb replies, "no! Don't you guys know that people who talk to themselves are actually geniuses?"

"Tch tch tch. I didn't expect this from the class toppers. It's such a basic fact." Anna mocks them.

"Maybe that's why Ms. Monica favours Anna and Tori more than the class toppers...." Joana says in a whisper which is clear enough for the audience around to hear.

They all start 'booing' and 'hooting' on the WEG.

Turns out the fault wasn't in our stars, in fact, WEG themselves had a wrong intention of insulting us all today.

After a few hoots and boos, Caleb stands up and says that the party is 'too amazingly boring' to continue and that everyone should leave. But come on, WEG has some respect. Windy stands up and shouts, "Enough! The party is over. Everyone get out!"

The house soon starts to get empty and for a sec, I pitty WEG as they now have to clean the mess behind us.

Everyone got a juicy update and as much as WEG will be mocked in the coming week, I know I will have some rumors on me as well.
But the fact, that my friends, unexpectedly stood up for me today, gives me motivation and strength enough to face them all alone.

When we get out of the house, all of us have turned red from giggling and laughing. This is probably the best moment of my life.

"I can drop Anna home, if it's fine..." Caleb says shyly looking at her, expecting a positive answer.
Anna is in no position of answering so I talk for her, "yeah that'll be better considering that you guys are neighbours and - um, and I'll have to take the other side it'll cost me a lot of gas so it's better you drive her." We all say our goodbyes and leave.

When I reach Joana's home she asks if me and Anna are really happy and I tell her, "no actually, we are pretty sad. Why did you feel like you had to hide this from us? We are ofcourse humans and we felt bad that we didn't got selected but you are our friend. No matter how bad the situation might be, we will always be happy for other's success." To which Joana smiled and gave me a hug and left the car.

"I'm feeling hungry. And it's not like I have to reach home before the curfew. How about we have an ice cream?" I ask Kage excitedly loving my new freedom.
"Yeah, how does it matter only you can have ice cream not me." Kage says from the back seat.
"Aarrghh you're such a mood killer. So where do you wanna go? And please don't say a cliche like beach side or a garden" I offer him rolling my eyes.

He suddenly gets excited, and jumps from back seat to front like a child rolling in an empty car and says, "How about Gake?"
"You mean 'The great Mizu Gake'? The cliff where people took their lives?" I ask in shock.

"Oh come on, you Mizukians are cry babies. That place is a jem in itself. No curfews are there at this hour because police itself is scared of that place. Let's go, I'll tell you more about the place." Kage promises.

Don't be so impressed with Kage's knowledge. He reads. That's all he does.

I park the car on the side and we both climb the rocky stairs. When we reach, a yellow police tape is making a boundary saying 'DO NOT CROSS'. We of course duck and cross the boundary reaching the other side. The night is darker than you can even imagine.

The cliff is probably on the end of the town and at such a height that the town and the house lights look like stars twinkling on the ground. The view is so mesmerizingly breath taking, that I feel like I'm almost in heaven.

"I can not believe how people can take their lives on such a sacredly beautiful place." I say in shock.

"This place used to be a tourist attraction for Mizu but when Alexi K. Wail jumped from this very spot where you are standing," his fact makes me jump from where I am standing, to his side, grabbing his arm for support. He continues, "this place turned to one of those ghostly attractions where now people only come to confirm the rumors about the famous author of 'The dead'." When he finishes there is a hint of sadness in his eyes which is visible because of the tiny town lights shinning in our eyes.

I slide my hand from his arm and hold his hand with my both hands leaning my head on his shoulder.
"Why do you think she jumped?" I ask looking at the mesmerizing view.

"It is still a mystery to why she did what she did. Her life was perfect. She was beautiful. Had an adorable glass house, just the magazine perfect one. Her one and only book about life and its challenges was a success.
But she was alone. Maybe her loneliness ate her up. Sucked the life from her." Kage says still looking down at the town.

When I don't reply, he turns to face me and catches me staring at him. His silhouette in this twinkling dark, looks so perfect. His deep brown eyes telling the mysteries. He haven't had any recent stitches and his face is healed from the last one.

I've never seen him this closely. We stare at each other in the dark looking for something, something that can define this moment between us. In this moment, while we stand holding each other's hand we know that it is something more, something more than just -

"I still hate that ringtone." Kage says turning his face again towards the town as he smiles.

Kage is smiling....

I walk a few feet away from him,
"Hey mom, how's unni doing?" I speak through the phone as mom shares her greetings and tells me about her day.

I maybe hearing to the phone but my eyes are on something else. I suddenly see Kage shaking his head vigorously and grab a bunch full of his hair and shouts 'STOP'. This scares the shit out of me and I say, "are you ok!?". Mom thinks that I'm talking to her but I make an excuse and hang up.

"Kage! What happened?" I ask as I try not to look scared.
"I don't know... I saw something... Something like people shouting... an accident... I could feel.... Death" he says panting heavily.

What do you guys think Kage's vision meant?
