"I have to leave soon," Cristiano murmured nibbling at the exposed skin of his girlfriend's neck, careful that he didn't leave any marks; that was the last thing that they needed right now.

Nodding Liliana wished for once that they didn't have to worry about being caught and she couldn't wait to get away with him for a little while and relax; Cristiano nipped lightly at her neck with a smile on his face.

"So your apartment in Guia," Cristiano prompted making Liliana smile at the thought of their plan; the two were going to make their excuses before slipping away to the private holiday apartment in Guia for a few days alone.

"I'll tell padre that I'm meeting up with a couple of friends for the weekend in Albufeira," Liliana told him making Cristiano nod as he brushed some hair from her face before he kissed her softly again.

Wrapping her arms around him as they kissed, Liliana knew that the sooner they were alone the better it would be for the both of them.

"I'll tell Mãe that I'm being called away for work; Jorge is going to Lisbon, so she shouldn't expect a thing," Cristiano murmured starting to kiss down her neck again; his naked body pressed against hers wanting nothing more than to stay in bed a little longer.

Liliana hummed running her fingers through her hair, she couldn't wait to have her boyfriend to herself; the two of the fell silent as they heard Dolores heading down stairs to make breakfast.

Cristiano pushed himself out of bed reluctantly, he glanced at his girlfriend as he pulled on his boxers; Liliana watched him as he leaned over the bed and kissed her softly needing to get back to his own room.

"I'll see you in Guia," Cristiano murmured softly before he quickly and quietly headed back to his own room before anyone came looking for him.

Liliana lay back in her bed and sighed, she stayed there for a while until the sun shone brightly through her window; she stared out of it and bit her lip wondering if she was doing the right thing.

Shaking her head at the thought with annoyance, Liliana climbed quietly out of her bed and headed for a shower to relax her nerves; she knew why they hide their relationship and it was for the best.

Cristiano had always been protective of her, even when they were children and as their relationship progressed and grew he couldn't stand the idea of anyone hurting her or trying to get at him by using her.

However, as he became a rising star, the Cristiano Ronaldo that the world now knew grew, people started to take more notice of him and he found himself not being able to relax.

Cristiano saw what happened to those who were closest to his team-mates and the players around him, Cristiano watched as the media made up stories to increase their readership that strained couples and families to the point where divorce and separation were the only option.

It was at that time that Cristiano also found himself hopelessly in love with Liliana, his one true friend in the world; no matter what happened in his career or life, she had always there for him.

Feelings that Liliana cleared reciprocated considering their current relationship, it was then that the young couple decided to hide from the world until they were sure they were both ready.

To protect something that meant the world to them, they told nobody of their relationship; not even their parents who pushed for them to be more.

Only Cristiano's father knew that they were dating, something that Liliana had revealed to him when he had been terminally ill to comfort him as he had begged her to look after his youngest son.

"Good morning," Liliana greeted entering the kitchen after her shower, she had dressed lightly for the day and she was excited about getting away for a little while; she wanted to spend time with Cristiano alone.

She could hear Cristiano on the phone in the living room as she made herself some toast; Roberto nodded at his daughter as he sipped on his coffee and read the paper while Dolores rolled her eyes at the Spaniard as she sat next to him.

"Morning Liliana," Dolores replied smiling at the younger woman, Liliana nodded her head as she moved to the fridge to collect the butter; she was sure that one day things would be so much easier.

It almost didn't seem real that her son hadn't asked Liliana out, Dolores was sure that it was only going to be a matter of time before they both realised how silly they were being.

"I spoke with Natasha this morning, she's here in Portugal and wants to meet up," Liliana lied making her father look at her, she focused on what she was doing and knew that she was going to keep her lies simple so that they didn't catch her out.

"I was thinking of heading up to Albufeira for a few days to see her," Liliana mused innocently while Cristiano walked into the kitchen looking annoyed, she watched as her father nodded though it was clear that he wanted her to stay with him and Dolores.

It was only for a couple of days and Liliana would be back before they knew it, she was just glad that she could lie that she was meeting a friend that they didn't know; she wanted to be able to relax with Cristiano.

"So it's just me and you this weekend; Cristiano's off to Lisbon and Liliana's heading to Albufeira, are we that bad company?" Roberto joked making Dolores roll her eyes, she moved to tidy up wanting to make sure that her kitchen was clean.

Cristiano sighed in relief at their parents accepted their lies before Liliana announced that she was off to pack; he watched her leave with a smile on his face making Roberto chuckle at him.

"You should ask her out, it's obvious you like her," Roberto teased softly making Cristiano roll his eyes, he knew what their parents wanted but he couldn't give in to them when he was already dating Liliana.

They would be thrilled when they did find out that the couple were dating, Cristiano knew people would be upset that they had kept it a secret for so long but it had been for a good reason.

"Of course I like her, she's my best friend," Cristiano said making Dolores laugh, her son wasn't going to admit that he was wrong anytime soon about any of this.

Roberto pursed his lips as he watched the younger man mess with his phone as if checking for details about his trip; he just wished they could see how good they would be together.

"That's not what I meant; you love her Cristiano, it's written on your face whenever you see her," Roberto said softly making Cristiano shake his head knowing that he had to throw Roberto off his trail.

The last thing that Cristiano wanted was for people to find out about him and Liliana only for things to be ruined between them; it wasn't going to be easy but he was determined to keep things quiet.

"I love Liliana... the same way I love Elma and Katia," Cristiano insisted making Roberto sigh and shake his head as he muttered about ignorance of the young.

Dolores nodded her head in agreement as she watched her youngest son, she knew that it would come back and bite him one day; something that she hoped wouldn't hurt him more than it needed to.

"Just think about what I said Cris; you don't want to wake up on her wedding day and realise that she's the woman for you," Roberto said, though it sounded like he was speaking from experience.
