Liliana sighed as she tried to ignore the press that followed her to work, it had been two weeks since she and Cristiano had revealed their relationship to the world and things still hadn’t settled down.

Of course, a lot of people had been upset that they hadn’t been told about their relationship but they soon understood why they had been kept in the dark and supported the couple.

“I’m fine Cris,” Liliana said softly as she walked into Spanish Elle’s Madrid Head Office; she knew that her fiancé was worried about her, she was now sixteen weeks pregnant and they couldn't have been happier.

The brunette was wearing a peach hybrid pencil dress with sweetheart neckline and satin inserts paired with nude high heels with jewelled metal toe caps.

“I have a doctor’s appointment next Wednesday,” Liliana said as she remembered that she was due for another scan next week; she couldn't believe how fast her pregnancy was moving.

It seemed like only last week that she had discovered that she was expecting and now they would soon discover if they were having a little boy or a little girl.

“I think I can get the day off for that,” Cristiano murmured down the phone to her, Liliana rolled her eyes; she knew that he loved being at the appointments and that he would do anything to make sure that he was a part of her pregnancy.

The brunette flashed her editor, Lydia Williams, a smile as she stopped outside the conference room; today was the first staff meeting since she had announced her relationship with Cristiano and Liliana was a little nervous.

“Listen… I’ll call you when I get out of the meeting,” Liliana said making Cristiano grumble about how much that he would miss her until then; the brunette smiled at his words.

“Te amo,” Liliana said making Cristiano chuckle as he replied with a Eu Te amo before they ended the call; Liliana sighed as she looked at the conference room, she licked her lips as she gathered her thoughts before she entered the room.

As soon as Liliana stepped into the room, everyone feel silent as they stared at the brunette; who stood silently for a moment before she moved to sit down in her usual seat. A couple of the other woman whispered as she sat down as they tried to figure out why Cristiano Ronaldo was engaged to Liliana.

“Alright everybody… let’s get straight down to business for our November issue, we have two weeks to finalise everything,” Lydia said as she walked into the room; Liliana sighed, she had a feeling that it was going to be a long day.

Cristiano sighed as he listened to José Mourinho talk about the match against Racing Santander; he couldn't wait to head home to his fiancée, he missed Liliana when he wasn’t with her and he hadn’t seen her since he had left early that morning.

The Portuguese was glad that his team-mates had taken the shocking news that Liliana was his fiancée and that they had been in a relationship for six years.

Karim had quickly apologised for flirting with Liliana after the news had broken about Cristiano’s engagement to the brunette.

The Frenchman had promised that he hadn’t meant anything by it, though it had amused the other players on the team; they knew how protective Cristiano was about Liliana.

“We’ll meet up at 8 o’clock at the Sheraton Mirasierra hotel,” Mourinho said after he had told them which players would be calling up for the match against Racing Santander.

Cristiano nodded as he thought about spending the night away from Liliana, he didn't like the idea of leaving her alone; he loved his fiancée but the amount of time that he was locked away in a hotel was ridiculous and he worried that he was going to miss something.

“Liliana will be fine,” Kaka said as he patted Cristiano on the back making the Portuguese look at his Brazilian friend who smiled at him.

Kaka was in the same position since his wife, Caroline, was pregnant with the couple’s second child; they were expecting a month after Liliana and Cristiano were.

“How do you cope with being away from them so much?” Cristiano asked he hated the thought that he was going to miss out on something because of his career.

The footballer was locked up in a hotel with his team-mates the night before every match in a hotel; whether it was the Sheraton Mirasierra hotel in Madrid or another one somewhere else.

“It’s not easy but when I get home and Caroline smiles at me and I get to play with Luca, all that makes this worth it that I can provide for them,” Kaka said making Cristiano nod as he listened to his friend’s words as they collected their stuff and headed out of the locker room at Ciudad Real Madrid.

Heading out into the car park, Cristiano smiled slightly at the sound of the fans that had gathered to see the team scream his name; it was the third best sound in the world to him.

The first two were Liliana’s voice and the heartbeat of their unborn child; he wished that he could listen to the second more often than whenever they went for a scan.

Cristiano grinned as he entered his home to be welcomed home by Frankie, Abelhinha and Marosca; the three dogs happily wagged their tails at him before he moved past them into the kitchen to find Liliana.

The brunette didn't look up from her laptop as she typed, until she felt Cristiano wrap his arms around her waist and kiss her neck making her jump slightly in surprise.

Turning on her high stool, Liliana smiled as she looked at him; she hadn’t been expecting him home until later and it was nice to have him back before he left for the night.

“You’re home early,” Lilian mused as she looked at her fiancé; she wrapped her arms around his neck and drew him closer making Cristiano smile as he kissed her softly.

“We finished early and I missed you,” he mused making Liliana smile softly as she ran her fingers through his dark brown hair, the footballer closed his eyes contently as he rested his head against hers.

He could understand where Kaka was coming from, nothing in the world compared to coming home to Liliana; he couldn't wait to be a father and have someone else to dot upon like he did with their mother.

“I missed you too,” Liliana said she knew that he would have to leave to head for the hotel with his team-mates; she was getting used to the fact that he was away a lot due to his job.

The two had cope with worse before this and they had lived in different countries for six months before; so this wasn’t a big deal in Liliana’s eyes, as long as Cristiano came home at the end of the day then that was all that mattered to her.

“So what do you fancy for dinner?” Liliana asked making Cristiano chuckle as he pulled back from his fiancé, the brunette tilted her head slightly as she looked at him waiting to hear what he had to say.

“Anything’s fine,” Cristiano said making Liliana nod as she slipped off the stool and out of his arms to prepare dinner.
