Chapter Sixteen: The Gender Scan

Cristiano grinned as he pressed a kiss to Liliana’s ever growing bump that was the home of his unborn child; the Portuguese was excited for what was going to happen today

The brunette was wearing a bold floral sundress paired withleather red polka dot plimsolls to cover her ever growing bump from the press; the two were still adjusting to the fact they were now in the spotlight.

“It’s a boy,” Cristiano said making his fiancée laugh softly as he rubbed the bump and smiled up at her innocently, he was excited to find out what they were going to have.

Liliana was now nineteen weeks pregnant and she couldn't have been happier than she was at that moment, the couple were relaxing in their living room as they enjoyed their time together.

“How can you be sure?” Liliana asked amused making the footballer chuckle as he pressed a kiss her lips, he missed spending time with her and with the football season now in full swing and he was playing a match nearly every three days.

“He has my moves,” Cristiano said making Liliana laugh softly, she knew that her fiancé loved the feel of the baby’s movement when he had a hand rested against her bump.

Cristiano kissed Liliana again before they heard Jorge and Elise enter the house bickering, the couple pulled apart and rolled their eyes as the two agents walked into the living room.

Ever since Cristiano and Liliana had announced that they were engaged, the two agents hadn’t been able to see eye to eye over anything; both of them wanted control of the couple’s image.

“If you can’t say anything nice don’t say anything at all,” Liliana chimed making the two agents glare at her while Cristiano chuckled; he knew that this would happen until they choose between the two, something that neither of them wanted to do.

The couple wished to keep their work lives separate, Cristiano’s football and Liliana’s writing; the two of them were very different and it complimented them.

“You two are going to have to choose… we can’t keep doing this,” Jorge said making the couple roll their eyes, it wasn’t the first time that they had been told that they would have to choice between Jorge and Elise.

The two agents stared at their clients before the two of them grumbled and headed into the kitchen leaving the couple alone, Cristiano gently kissed down Liliana’s neck; they hoped their agents would soon get used to working together.

Cristiano watched as the couple’s midwife checked Liliana over, he was still a little concerned when it came to having the check-ups; he always worried that there would be something wrong.

“Okay Liliana… everything looks good so far,” their midwife, Dr. Cara Tomas, said making the brunette nod as she settled herself onto the table while Cristiano watched the midwife make some notes on Liliana’s chart.

“I take it, you both would like to know the sex of your baby?” Cara asked making Cristiano nod excitedly while Liliana smiled and nodded as the footballer took her hand.

The couple didn't have to wait long before Cara started their scan and their baby’s healthy heartbeat filled the room; Cristiano closed his eyes as he listened to it for a moment before Liliana squeezed his hand.

The Portuguese looked at his fiancée confused but her eyes were focused on the screen, Cristiano sighed as he turned his own attention to the screen which made a smile form on his face.

There was no denying what their unborn child was, the evidence was staring them in the face.

“Felicitaciones… it’s a boy,” Cara told the couple making Liliana smile as she turned her attention to Cristiano, who kissed her softly.

“We are having a boy,” Cristiano said as he cupped Liliana’s face, he couldn't believe that he was having a little boy; he smiled idiotically making Liliana nod as she kissed him softly.

The midwife watched the couple for a moment before she excused herself from the room to print out copies of the scan for them; Cristiano kissed Liliana as he cupped her face, it was clear that he couldn't have been happier at the news.

“Obrigada meu amor,” Cristiano said softly making the brunette kiss him one last time before she moved to wipe the gel off her stomach; her fiancé watched her with a smile as he thought about his son.

“My Mãe wants us all to have dinner together tonight,” Cristiano said making Liliana look at him and nodded as she prepared to leave the doctor’s room, she knew that their families would be thrilled when they heard the news that they were expecting a little boy.

Roberto couldn't stop the tears that filled his eyes as he took in the news that he was getting a Grandson, he hugged his daughter while Dolores stared at her son; she couldn't believe the news.

“You’re sure?” Dolores asked making Cristiano nod as he showed her the scan, the Portuguese stared at the image before she wrapped her arms around Cristiano

. Liliana stepped away from her father as he tried to hold himself together while Katia and Elma hugged her and congratulated the Spaniard while Cristiano tried to get out of his mother’s grasp.

“I think this calls for a celebration,” Roberto said as he looked between his eldest daughter and her fiancé, as Cristiano wrapped his arms around Liliana; it was clear that everyone was thrilled at the news that they were having a baby boy.

Roberto grinned as he walked out of the room followed by Dolores; Liliana looked at Cristiano who shrugged as the two settled onto one of the couches in the living room.

“You’ll have to start thinking about names?” Katia said as she balanced her infant son, Dinis, on her hip; Cristiano looked at his youngest nephew who had been named at their father.

“I’m sure we’ll think of something,” Liliana mused as she felt Cristiano rest a hand on the swell of her stomach, she smiled as she felt him kiss her neck as Katia rolled her eyes and head upstairs to settle Dinis down for his nap.

His two nieces Beatriz and Eleonor watched as their uncle cuddled his fiancée, before Eleonor turned her father.

“Papa, where do baby’s come from?” she asked innocently making Elma laugh as she patted her husband on the shoulder and walked away to help in the kitchen;Edgar glared at his brother-in-law, who chuckled amused for a moment.

“Just wait Ronaldo… it’ll be your turn soon enough,” Edgar said making Liliana laugh as Cristiano frowned at the idea of having to tell his children where baby’s come from; he hadn’t thought of anything passed Liliana’s pregnancy and now it scared him.

The brunette took his hand as if sensing his sudden fear of the little person that would be arriving in this world in a matter of months.

“It’ll be okay,” Liliana said softly in his ear as she smiled at Cristiano, who offered her a weak smile before he kissed her softly; he didn't know how he would deal with the little person that was coming that was going to need him.
