Mornings aren't the best for me. This morning could just add onto my list. Outside the room was a mechanical dragon. This was the same one that the Hephaestus cabin was trying to find. I grabbed my bow and ran outside. Normally, I wouldn't have a problem with a REAL dragon, but this wasn't real. It was an exception.
We were told to basically back off. Some kids were on a quest doing who knows what. I wasn't all that convinced, but when they flew off, I was at ease. We continued to eat breakfast. I also hoped that Dad like pancakes.
At the Apollo cabin's table, we exchanged personal poetry. It was great. People who finally understood me. I felt a tap on my shoulder. It was Connor. He whispered his plan of another prank. It was to be pulled on the Aphrodite cabin. I nodded.
Here's the plan. We replaced their clothes with all the least fashionable items. Travis gathered all the stuff from their cabin. We made our way there while everyone was at breakfast. I filled them in as Connor took the original ones. We ran to the bushes and hid.
When we heard their scream, we burst out laughing. We ran off, leaving the clothes behind the bush. Drew came out steaming. "WHO TOOK MY CLOTHES?!"
The three of us pretended not to hear. Drew sent everyone off to find the clothes. Lacy found them. When Drew saw how dirty they were, she shrieked. "I'M GONNA KILL WHOEVER DID THIS."
Drew saw us together and charged at us, pointy manicured nails ahead. We ran away towards the trees and climbed. Thank the gods that I love tree-climbing. She stared daggers at us. When she left, we jumped down. She eventually cooled off.
Travis never talked to me alone. I shrugged off the unusual feeling in my chest. I never had liked anyone like this, I wasn't going to start now. I heard someone calling my name. It was Nyssa. "Olivia! Can we talk?"
I pivoted at the spot and looked at her. "Sure."
She grabbed my wrist and took me to the lake. No one was there so our entire conversation was private."What's up Nyssa?"
"How do you get a boy to like you besides your looks?"
I was completely taken aback. "What do you mean? I don't have anyone looking at me like that."
She shook her head. "You seem so clueless so I shouldn't bother, but how? I know someone does for you. I tried the best I could to get this one boy to like me. It didn't work."
"Did you try being yourself?"
She shook her head. "That wouldn't work. My true self is horrible."
I stared at her with concern. "Nyssa, you are not horrible! You are one of the greatest people I know! Your smart, loyal, helpful, and kind."
She grinned at me. "It wouldn't work."
I frowned at her. "Which Aphrodite kid said it to you?"
She looked down. "Drew."
"You do not listen to her Nyssa! You are a million times better. Be yourself and everything will work out."
She nodded confidently. The first thing I was going to do was beat the living daylights out of Drew. I am sick and tired of her being such a jerk by putting people down. She's too stuck up and needs to be taught a lesson.
I saw Drew by the training session watching all the boys train, even Travis and Connor, the ones who pulled the prank on her. When I saw her eyeing them, I split. I ran to her and pushed her down.
She got up and glared at me. "What was that for you ugly goat?"
"Everything you did to put people down, you snob."
She smirked. She scratched me with her nails. I did something to taunt her outer-beauty, I punched her right in the eye. She grabbed her eye. "You will pay for messing up my looks."
She slapped me in the face. "Is that all you could do?" I asked rudely.
"I don't think I like your look!" She turned my hair grey.
I elbowed her. "You need to have a better rhythm! You're lucky I don't have my bow. Your face wouldn't be pretty anymore."
She began to rhyme. When she heard, she went silent. I took my chance. "I think it's about time you change your cream. Your pimples are starting to show." I crossed my arms.
She held her head. I ran to her cabin and quickly switched her creams. That will teach her to bully other people. I ran out and asked my half siblings for advice on how to change my hair. Apparently I had to wait it off. It usually takes a day since they aren't that strong.
Connor and Travis ran up to me. "That was awesome! No one has ever stood up to her! You really showed her!" Connor said.
Travis looked at me, confused. "What do you mean about her 'pimples'? She didn't have any."
"Not yet." I smirked and showed them her bottle. I told them about what I did. "Tomorrow, she will find a 'wonderful' surprise."
They grinned. "We are definitely starting to rub off on you."
"Speaking of which, Travis, why haven't you spoken to me at all?"
His face fell. "Oh... umm...."
"He felt like an awkward nerd."
Travis slapped the back of his head. "I am NOT a nerd."
I smiled. "You don't have to be nervous."
He shrugged. We walked off. I couldn't wait to see Drew's reaction.
The next morning, I was happy to note a scream. Though, it all ended soon because of a shriek from a different cabin.
