I was steaming mad. Drew was really starting to get on my nerves. What was I going to do with her? I literally can't stand it anymore.
I know that one thing is off the list. Threats don't work on her. If this was going to work, I need backup. I went up to Kayla. "Will you help me stand up to Drew. No threats, just talking."
"Of course."
I spoke to Nyssa about it too. She agreed as well. I went up to two other girls, one from Athena, the other from Aphrodite. We walked up to Drew. She opened hers eyes widely. "Lacy! Why are you with them!"
She just glared at her. I looked at Drew. "We need to talk."
"Fine."
We took her to the lake. "What do you want?"
"We've come to stand up to you." Nyssa said.
"Yeah right."
Kayla stood in front with her bow. "You want to bet?" she asked fiercely.
Drew backed off. "What is it?"
"Stop hurting people. Every time you hurt someone, we hurt you, harder. You got it?" I said.
"Whatever Liv."
"Watch your back. By the way, you do not get to call me that."
"Whatever."
My group and I walked off. I felt considerably more confident. Travis and Connor came up to me. "What was that?"
"A stand."
Travis smirked."I'm glad to hear that. If you will excuse us Connor, I need some alone time with her."
"What? Why? If you're gonna talk, you can say it in front of me too. I refuse to leave."
"You really don't understand, do you? I guess it is just talking for now." he sighed.
I laughed at Connor's idiocy. "Once he finds a girlfriend, he'll see."
"Did you just call me dumb?! I don't need a girl anyways!"
"That's not what I'm saying, but gods, you remind me of an anime character."
He glared at me. We sat in the woods together. "Liv, what visions have you been seeing? You can tell me."
I took in a deep breath. One word floated in my head as we were sitting, trust. It echoed throughout my body and made me shiver. Do not tell him. I do not want to punish you. You may love this boy, but telling him is unwise. He is a bad influence anyway. Think if you should trust him. The way you see is different. It is not written for you, you truly see it and feel it. Be careful with what you say.
That stupid word again. Gods, how it ruined my life. Can I trust the gods? It WAS Hera who killed my mom. "I'm conflicted Travis. I'm not sure what to tell. Plus, Dad keeps saying that you're a bad influence." I looked up. "How can he prove himself to you Dad?"
I balled up my hands. They came again, another vision. There were some sort of bombs going off. I saw myself. I started screaming (the real me). I saw people falling. Travis and I were fighting back to back. Another bomb went off. The next one was coming right next to me. Travis pulled me under him and took the impact. I heard him speak. He said, "I hope this proves it to your dad."
I screamed out. "TRAVIS!"
I saw him seriously injured but still alive. I was breathing heavily. Stupid war, stupid prophecy. Stupid Gaea. The next one was a giant fighting off a demigod, I don't know who. They were getting pretty beat up. It was too much to take. I fell to the floor and started shaking.
Travis was holding me. "Shh, I'm right here, Liv. Nothing is happening."
I stopped crying. I looked up at him, then at the sky. "You see Dad! If you saw what I did, would you let me tell him? Let me trust him?!" I bowed my head. "Of course not."
Travis held my hand. "You shouldn't disrespect the gods like that."
"I know, but after what I saw, I hope it would change some things. But I can't speak of it, it would change fate."
He nodded his head. "I understand."
I was running ahead, we were racing. Then, I was trapped. A Demeter kid mouthed, I'm sorry, she made me do it.
A wall of wildflowers surrounded me. Drew was there smirking at me. I bent down on my knees. I couldn't breathe. I hit the wall with my fists. "Travis! Help!" I rasped.
Through the wall, I could see him trying to break it open. He was shouting. "You hate her so you're going to kill her?! This is low, even for you Drew!"
Tears poured down my cheek. I looked at Travis. "I love you." I whispered.
He was frustrated. Travis was ripping at the plants. I sank to my knees and fell. The plants never stopped growing. It wrapped around my body and held me there. He was pulling. He called for Connor. I saw Connor run up and start pulling.
I slowly closed my eyes. So this is how I die huh? I didn't have energy to struggle. There wasn't anything left in me. I smiled and "fell asleep".
I woke up to see Chiron standing in front of me. I couldn't get up at all. "Chiron?" I rasped.
"Rest, child."
"Where's Travis and Connor?"
"Outside, waiting to come inside."
"Let them in."
"You need to rest more."
"No, you don't understand. I need them in here. Where's Nyssa?"
"Outside as well."
"Let them all in."
"But-"
"Please Chiron."
"Very well."
He went out the door and let them in. Nyssa ran inside and jumped on top of me. She squeezed me for what seemed like an hour. "Nyssa, I can't breathe again."
"Oh right."
She got off. I tried to sit up, but they pushed me down. "You need to lay down."
"Fine."
Travis gripped my hand tightly and kissed the top of it. "I hated it," he said."The fact that I couldn't save you. That you were dying right in front of me."
Connor stared out the window. "The three of us, Nyssa, Travis and I, are going to get revenge."
Nyssa nodded. Travis glared. "I'm going to kill Drew."
"Travis, don't. It's not going to help. Torture is fine though!"
He laughed."We'll see."
"I made a choice about not letting Drew get to me."
"She's making attempts on killing you!"
"You can do what you like. I won't bother."
Travis squeezed my hand tightly."Whatever it is, I will protect you because I am yours and you are mine."
I smiled as we kissed.
