My eyes shot open. Travis sat next to me. "Travis?" My voice was raspy.
"Liv?"
I sighed. "I'm a mess, aren't I?"
Travis didn't answer. He rested his hand on my shoulder and exhaled. He stayed like this for a few minutes. Finally, he spoke. "Liv, you aren't a mess. All it is, is that we're waiting for all this to be over."
"It's over though. The pain and illness. At least, that's what I was told."
"How?"
"When I finally cracked, it signaled that it would be over, from what Gaea had said."
"Oh. Well, do you want to go do something then? You know, as a treat?"
"Sure!"
I sat up and flung my legs to the edge of the bed. I stood up. At first, my balance was wobbly, but, I regained it. Travis wrapped his arm around my waist and guided me out the door. He had a grin that reached ear to ear. I smiled warmly at his reactions.
I looked around and saw barricades. Not something you want to see your first fay out of the hospital. Everyone was suited up and on alert. Some greeted us, but others flat out ignored our presence. Nice to see you too.
"Come on! Let's go over there." Travis pointed at the lake.
"Ok, let me-"
"Wait!"
I raised my eyebrow. "What is it Travis?"
"Go back in the cabin! I need to do something."
"Um ok..?"
He ran off. I giggled and walked back to my cabin. Sometimes, he can be like a five-year-old at heart. I stood in front of the mirror trying to tame my curly blonde locks. After my billionth attempt, I made a decent messy bun.
I went to my drawer and got out my homemade Camp HalfBlood muscle tee and skinny jeans. I slipped on some flip flops and walked out the door. Listen, I know you might think I'm crazy, getting dressed up for a 'date' while we might be going to war, but I just got out of the hospital. Give me a break, ok? Good.
Time to find Travis. I have absolutely no idea where Travis ran off to. First, I decided to check his cabin. The door was unlocked so I peeked inside. "Is Travis-"
My eyes widened. Connor. Was. In. Front. Of. Me. CHANGING. Like, no pants stuff. "Take a picture, it'll last longer, and no, he is not here."
I just nodded and walked off. Okay, awkward much. Maybe he's by the lake. I walked over, still dazed by the image. I saw him (Travis) standing my a table. He was grinning at me. Travis walked up. "Hello beautiful."
"H-hi." Wow, this Travis stunned me.
He took my hand and lead me to the table. On the table, there was a candle and two plates with food on them. Specifically, pizza, my favorite. Did he do all this himself?
"You like?"
"No." He stared, with a saddened look on his face. "I love."
He grinned and pulled out the chair for me. I sat and he sat down in front of me. "I wanted to make your first day special."
"Thank you. All this is just wow. The time of day sets the mood, the scenery is beautiful-"
"The only scenery I need is to see you."
I smiled. I had no words to express all my feelings. "Well, dig in." He said.
I picked up my pizza and bit into it. It tasted like food Olympus couldn't even cook (exaggerated, I know). There is a meaning behind it being my favorite food. Pizza was the last thing I ate with my mother. When we finished eating, Travis picked me up bridal style. "What are you doing?"
Hr grinned and walked to the lake. "Nothing...."
"Travis Stoll, do not put me in that lake or Apollo so help me I'll-"
I didn't get to finish. He tossed me in the water. I swam to the surface after getting over the shock. "Here let me help you out." He said genuinely.
I smiled and reached for his hand. Then, I pulled him down. He laughed when he popped out. He wrapped his arms around my waist and buried his face in the crook of my neck. We stood in the water like that for about five minutes. My arms were around his neck. He looked up.
We stared into each other's eyes until he spoke up. "Liv, you have made me the happiest guy on Earth."
"You, my friend, have made me the happiest girl on Earth."
"I'm glad." He smiled.
He didn't give me a chance to answer. He kissed me right in the beginning of my answer. My sassy side would call him rude, but my sappy side would kiss him back. Today, I'm better acquainted with my sappy side. I kissed him back. We heard a splash right next to us.
We broke away for air. It was Connor. "Hey lovebirds."
"Hey Connor."
"Travis."
"Yeah?"
Oh no. "Did you know that your girlfriend saw me in my boxers today?"
My cheeks turned red. Stupid bad timing. "Oh really?"
"Yup, said she was looking for you." He wiggled his eyebrows.
"Connor!" I whined, shoving his shoulder lightly.
He laughed. "Oh here, I got your picture."
He handed me a hand drawn picture of himself in his boxers. I swear he is a 5 year old deep down, the picture was a stick figure. I sighed and put it on the dock. The twins began to splash me.
I grinned evilly and splashed them back. We had a water war for about 20 minutes. It was that serious. Travis came behind me and lifted me by my waist. "Travis!"
He picked me up and threw me back in the water. I swam and grabbed onto his ankles. I pulled him under and swam to the surface.
We got to the shore, laughing. We watched the horizon for a little. That is, until we heard a sound.
Was that the beginning of the war, or was it something else?
Hey guys I know I am a horrible author for taking so long! I'm sorry! Sorry for the horrible chapter, but the suspense... MWAHAHAHAHA. This is the end of this story, should I make a sequel or nahhh? Comment if I should! It would mean a lot!
