We gathered in the middle of our cabin. Travis and Connor had joined us. We were discussing camp. "What's going to happen? It feels like the end is near, no Percy, and everyone is acting weird about the newcomers and their quest."
"Well we have no idea on what actually happened. We're basically left in the dark, and there's no justice in that. We need to know if we need to fight."
I looked down. I knew what was coming, an I couldn't tell them. Dad said not to. He said that I was unusually strong on this. Travis spoke up. "I want to know what's up Liv. She's been screaming out of nowhere and looking like she's just seen a ghost."
Will looked up. "It could be that she saw the future. There are some who see it. Our father is the god of the oracle as well."
I didn't speak. Everyone had their eyes on me. "I can't tell you."
"Why?" Travis asked me, concerned.
Will spoke for me. "They get punished because a lot of the gods don't like it. It messes with fate if they speak about what they see. Someone actually got punished for telling a girl about her future."
I looked up at him, wide-eyed. I couldn't even tell them about Apollo speaking to me. Why was my life so difficult? I escaped a prison just to enter another one. I got up and sat on my bed. I took out my journal and began to write. "Why are you writing now Liv?"
"It kills me that I can't tell you anything. This is how I clear myself and my problems."
Why do most heroes end up dying? Countless legends end up dead. If those three newbies are part of the second Great Prophecy, will they end up dead? I know someone dies, one of the seven or not. Gods, I hate it, being able to see what will happen.
Travis sat next to me. I closed my notebook and laid down on him. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed my head. He whispered in my ear. "I have another prank."
I looked up. "What is it?"
"Put constant-ringing alarm clocks in the Hypnos cabin."
"That's a good one. I'll do it."
"Meet us in front of our cabin at 11."
"Okay."
We just lay there, listening to the others talk. Chiron made an announcement outside. "Time for capture the flag!"
I ran up. Connor explained me the game before. We ran outside. Surprisingly, the Aphrodite cabin joined. He sorted us. "Aphrodite-red! Apollo-blue! Hephaestus-red! Hermes-blue! Ares- red! Demeter- blue! Dionysus-red! Athena-blue! Iris-red! Nemesis- blue!" Etc.
I suited up. I took the job of protecting the flag. I grabbed my bow and sword. I put the sword on my waist and ran to the flag. We got in position. It was time for the battle.
I heard them shout as they ran. It was pretty quiet for a while. Then, some people started to come. The Aphrodite cabin leader, Drew made it. I grinned as she charged at me. I dodged it and hit her back. I shot her foot as she pivoted and whacked me with something. That's going to leave a bruise. I laughed as she fell. She couldn't walk.
I turned back to the flag and stood in front of it. An Ares kid came by. He charged at me. I ducked from his blow and tripped him. I knocked him out with the bottom of my sword. I stood in front of it again.
Butch came up. Oh no, he was way stronger than I was. I got out my bow and arrow. I shot at his foot, but he dodged it. I did it again and he dodged it again. Gods, he was fast, and he isn't even on a vehicle. I whacked his arm, he kicked my legs. I nicked his chest. I put in another arrow and aimed at his leg. He was too busy trying to get the flag to see me. He stumbled backwards and fell.
