I woke up to the sound of gossip. I heard that they had to pry Travis off of Drew. Also that she didn't look so pretty anymore. Everyone gathered around me when I sat up. My body still ached from the fight. "Where's Travis?"
"Outside being held down by five other people."
"Why is he held down? Why by so many?"
"He threw the other ones off. He's being held down because he wants to see you and beat Drew up more. She's here in the infirmary though. It's not right to do that."
I nodded. "Can he come in though? I want to see him and speak to him privately."
Drew was asleep and nobody else was there. They reluctantly left. Travis ran inside. He glanced at Drew then sat next to me. He gripped my hand. "I couldn't help myself. Using me to hurt you was the last straw. I can't risk losing you again. I can't believe I even did this to you. How are you feeling?"
"I'm okay. Travis, you didn't do this to me. She did it. I don't blame you at all. I never would."
"Still, I just-"
I put my finger to his lips. "You don't need to say anything else."
He bowed his head. I tilted it up. He looked into my eyes. "Olivia?"
He didn't say anything else as we kissed. He put his arms around my waist. I had my arms around his neck and pulled him closer. I ended up falling onto the bed.
Chiron walked in. We stopped and sat up. "How is it that every time we kiss, we always get interrupted?"
Travis laughed. "Olivia, glad to see you're all better. You may leave the hospital now."
I nodded and got up. I was wobbly on my feet so Travis helped me walk. We walked towards the door when Chiron stopped us. "Olivia, please be careful. Don't run into anymore trouble."
"I'll try Chiron, but trouble always seems to run into me."
He just nodded his head. Travis and I walked towards my cabin. My legs felt like jelly. I wondered if the campers get into this many fights. "Travis?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you guys get into fights normally?"
"Not really why?"
"I guess it is just me."
"That's what makes me love you even more, your tough spirit."
If he knew me to my soul, he would know that 1) I don't have any spirit and 2) that I'm not tough at all. I'm weak. I'm hideous. I'm just a person that isn't even close to Travis's rank. He's amazing whereas I'm a nothing, a loner.
I looked down at the ground. "Liv what's wrong?"
"Nothing."
"No, there's something up and it's making you upset. I want to know what it is."
I stared at the ground, avoiding his eyes. He bent down and looked me in my eyes. "It's.... I don't deserve you. You're way better at everything. You're handsome, strong, funny, talented, and important. I'm the opposite of all of those."
He stared at me. "You know what, you are the opposite of them. You're not handsome, you're beautiful. You're not strong, you're invincible. You're not funny, you're hilarious. You're not talented, you're perfection. You're not just important, you're my life. I can't live without you."Tears were rolling down my cheeks."I love you Olivia. I love you until the world ends and the life beyond that."
I wrapped my arms around him. He cradled me there for what seemed like an eternity. I wish it lasted longer. We continued to walk to my cabin in silence. My siblings gathered around me. Kayla helped me to my bed. "Guys, I'm fine."
They reluctantly backed off. There was a small commotion outside. Apparently, the kids who went on the quest came back. Then, a meeting was called. Travis had to go because he was head of his cabin.
I waited for Travis in his cabin. His siblings kept bugging me. They tried to steal my drachmas."Excuse me. If you want your hands detached from your body, keep trying."
They backed off after that. Travis eventually came back."You actually survived in my cabin?"
"With a threat here and a glare there, it did the trick. In other words, they stopped trying to steal my drachmas."
He laughed. "Well, I've got some big news. Come with me."
He took my hand. "Why is your hand so warm?"
"I tried to set a pingpong ball on fire."
"Oh um, good idea I guess." I laughed.
We stopped at the lake. "They found out where Percy is. Big events are going to happen and fast. Also, Drew isn't head of the cabin now. Piper, the new girl, is." I smiled at the wonderful news.
