(Charlotte’s POV)

It was moving day. Everything was packed. The removal van had arrived and I was getting ready to say goodbye to the last 21 years of my life.

When all the boxes were in the van we went back inside. The house looked so different. I went went up to my room. It looked so empty. I started to remember everything that had happened in that room when I was little. All the sleepovers I’d had with my friends when we were 8 years old, and feeling like ‘big girls’ when we stayed up till 11pm.

Mum shouted me down telling me everyone was waiting outside for us.

I looked out the window and saw them all. I hated audiences.

When I got outside, all my friends ran towards me and gave me massive hugs. Ellie was even in tears.

Once they’d all backed off I looked round for Max and saw him out of the corner of my eye. Without realising, a tear rolled down my cheek when I looked at him. He came over and wiped the tear away. I just hugged him and whispered ‘I’m gonna miss you so much Max. Don’t forget me.’

He could tell I was starting to cry. ‘Hey.. You’re coming to London with me next month. Come on. I think your mum wants to set off.’

I let go if him and walked towards my dad. He’d come to say bye to me and Jake. ‘Bye Charl. Now you behave in Nottingham.’ he said. He had tears in his eyes now.

‘Dad, I’m 21.’ I said with a giggle but tears rolling down my face.

If you’re wondering why me and Jake still live at home with mum, it’s because we knew mum needed our support, and so did dad.

Max walked me to the car and gave me a final hug when I was getting in.

‘Text me when you arrive, okay?’ he said to me.

‘Yeah. I will.’ I replied with a sniff.

(Max’s POV)

And the car drove off. I was gonna miss Charl like crazy but I knew her mum needs her right now.

When the car was out of sight, me and mum went back inside.
