(Jay’s POV)
Several weeks had passed since the final auditions in London. At the meeting, we discussed the business side of things and we now had a name: The Wanted. Nathan thought of it. We also found out we were going to Germany for a couple of weeks to start writing and recording.
This was the point when I had to tell work about The Wanted and everything that was happening. They took it surprisingly well. They said I can take as much time off as I need and they’re being really supportive.
We were setting off for Germany in a few days, and I had a surprise for Charlotte. I wasn’t going to be the one to tell her though. I rang her like I normally do.
‘Hey Charl’ I said to her.
‘Hey love. You okay?’
‘Yeah I’m great thanks. You?’
‘Yeah I’m good thank you.’
‘You been busy?’
‘Not really just a load of paperwork. What about you? Any more boy band planning?’ she said with a giggle.
‘Well actually, about that..’
‘Hang on, Jay. I’ve got another call.’
Well that was good timing. I knew who was ringing her.
(Charlotte’s POV)
‘Hello? Grimshaw Publicity.’
‘Hey Charl.’ It was Max.
‘Hey you! You barely ever call me at work anymore. Everything okay?’
‘Yeah its great. Actually, I wanted to ask you something.’
‘Yeah?’
‘Want to come away for a couple of weeks with me, Jay and the boys? When we go to Germany?’
‘Whaatt? You being serious?!’ I literally yelled down the phone.
‘Yeah course I’m being serious!’
‘Oh my god, Max I’d love to!’
‘Good. Jay will sort the rest out with you. I told you I’d see you soon.’
‘Yeah you did. I best go, he’s on hold.’
‘Alright. See you in a few days! Byee’ and he hung up.
(Jay’s POV)
Max had timed that phone call perfectly.
‘Jay… You knew about this?!’ Charlotte yelled down the phone.
‘Yeah actually. It was Max’s idea. He told me about it, then we spoke to Jayne and she thought it was alright for you to come.’
‘But I won’t get time off. It’s too short notice.’
‘Yeah that’s already sorted. I spoke to Steve and he said it’s fine.’
I gasped. ‘Really?’
‘Yeah, he said you’ve been working really hard and you deserve a break. So that’s final. You’re coming with us.’
