(Jay’s POV)
Charlotte walked into the room and I turned around. I was on the phone to my mum when she saw me, so she didn’t run over.
‘Jay I’m so proud of you.’ My mum was saying on the end of the phone. ‘Hang on, Tom wants to talk to you.’ This was Tom, as in my twin, Tom.
‘Alright mate!’ I said to Tom.
‘Mate! Well done!’ Tom cried down the phone.
‘Cheers Tom. I can’t believe it.’
‘I knew you were gonna do it. Anyways I have to go. Got work. See you when you’re back!’
‘Alright byee.’ I said and hung up.
I went over to see Charlotte and Max. Charlotte saw me and stood up. I walked to her and engulfed her in a hug. ‘Congratulations! I’m so proud of you.’ She said to me. Then looked at me and Max and said ‘I’m so proud of both of you.’
The door opened and a tall guy walked in with Lucy. ‘Boys, this is Siva.’ Lucy said. We all walked over to him and introduced ourselves and Max introduced Charlotte. ‘She’s not in the band, obviously. Unless,’ and Max looked at Charlotte, ‘there’s something you’re not telling us, Charl.’ Everyone started laughing and Charl just gave an evil glare to Max, clearly meaning it as a joke.

(Charlotte’s POV)
About an hour had passed and the fifth member of the band had joined us all. He was called Nathan and was quite a bit younger than the rest of them. I think I heard him mention about still doing his A-Levels. Jayne had been in and spoken to the boys and said how they were going to have a meeting in a week or so and that’s when they would come up with a name for the band and talk about the official side of things. Then said we were free to go.
I told Jay that he could come back to Manchester with me and Max, and then stay at my dad’s with me if he wanted to, and he agreed. I was travelling back to Nottingham on Sunday night to be back for work on the Monday.
We all made our way to King’s Cross and got the train back to Manchester. We sat in seats with a table in the middle so we could talk properly but we barely even spoke. The boys were tired after the day of auditions and I was just tired in general from all the excitement. I was sat next to Jay and had my legs resting on Max. I must have fallen asleep on Jay because he was shaking me to wake me up when we arrived in Manchester. He lifted me on to his back, like a piggy-back, and carried me to a taxi. Max carried all the bags.
The next day I woke up at Max’s. I don’t remember getting in the taxi or travelling home so they must have brought me back here. I turned over and Max was laid on the other side of me. He was still asleep. Then I looked down on the floor beside the bed, and saw Jay. Again, he was fast asleep. I got out of bed trying not to wake either of them and went downstairs. Max’s mum had left a note on the fridge.
‘Morning Charlotte. I figure you’ll be the first one up. Max will sleep for hours. Help yourself to anything in the fridge or the cupboards. If I don’t see you before you go, have a safe journey back to Nottingham and say hi to your mum for me. Love Karen x’
Max’s mum knew I was always round at the house and has always said I can help myself to anything. She always bought extra food for two reasons. 1) because I was always there and 2) because Max was a boy who will eat anything and everything in vast amounts.
I looked in the fridge and pulled out some bacon. I decided to make the boys sandwiches for breakfast and take them upstairs.
I walked into the room and Max and Jay were just coming round. ‘Morning boys’ I said to them. I put the tray of tea and sandwiches on the bed.
‘Morning Charl’ they replied in unison.
‘Oh nice one! You made breakfast!’ Max said to me. They both grabbed a mug and a plate and started eating.
‘Yeah just a little well done for yesterday. I still can’t believe you’re both gonna be in a band!’ I replied.
‘I know. I still can’t get my head around it. Suppose it will sink in when we go to the first meeting and we have a name.’ Jay said.
‘Or maybe it will never sink in..’ Max replied.
That morning we just laid in bed, watched films and ate sweets and chocolate. Max and Jay were getting to know each other. I was pleased they were gonna be together in a band. It meant I would get chance to see both of them more.
Night soon came and it was time for me and Jay to travel back to Nottingham. Jay said a quick goodbye and went to take our bags to my car. I waited inside with Max to say goodbye.
‘Well I’ll see you soon yeah?’ I said to him and he nodded. My eyes started welling up. ‘You’re gonna see Jay in a bit for the meeting yeah.’ And he nodded again.
‘Charl!’ Jay shouted from outside.
‘I need to go Max’ I said to him.
‘Look after yourself. Say hi to your mum and Jake’ and I nodded back. He embraced me in a hug and tears started falling down my cheeks. I hated leaving him every time.
I walked outside, got in the car and wiped my tears. It was a good thing Jay had offered to drive us home. I put the radio on to distract me. We pulled away from the pavement and started our journey home.
