Disclaimer: I don't own RWBY. If I did then I would have Gwen cosplay as Gwen Stacy from Marvel Comics.

(Y/N)'s POV

"There you go Gwen, now you got it." As I finish my sentence, the black haired knife wielder throws another one of her knives into her target. Right now, the two of us are in one of Shade's training areas, working on Gwen's knife throwing and I got to say she is doing pretty good. The team NDGO member manages to throw a third knife into a moving target that's thirteen feet away from us. The black haired huntress-in-training brushes a strand of hair away from her face as her lips grow into a smile.

"Hey, don't congratulate me just yet, otherwise I'll get too cocky." Right around the time she finishes her sentence, she throws a fourth knife into the target, getting another perfect shot. I gain a proud smile on my faces as my eyes roam from Gwen's target to the many scattered knives on the floor. I got to say, even though it took us a bit, once Gwen started hitting the target she became a real pro. I then look to her as my hand gently pats her shoulder.

"Oh come on, I said you just needed to hit the target once today, so getting it four times is definitely worthy of congratulations." Gwen moves my arm out of her way as she then jumps to me, wrapping her arms around me in a tight hug.

"Well I never would have gotten better if it wasn't for your help." She looks at me with a beautiful smile on her face as my arm wraps around her waist.

"Hey, that's what good boyfriends do for their girlfriends." I chuckle while saying that as I decide against joking about how many hours I have put into helping her improve her throwing strength, speed, and aim. I am happy to help her after all, be a pretty bad boyfriend if I didn't try to support her, but man has there be a lot of late nights. Not to mention the many times she wanted to spar as well, "I'm just glad we finally got you to thirteen." Gwen nods as the lets go of me and backs up.

"Yeah, isn't it great?" She then gets a fire in her brown eyes, the same one when she's excited about something, as she grabs another knife from her outfit, "Now let's get working on sixteen feet!" My expression falls as I can feel some sweat fall from my forehead.

"Umm, sweetie, you just managed to hit a moving target at thirteen feet, we need to practice a little more before we up the distance again."

"Oh, well that's fine. So what's next? Multiple still targets? Multiple moving targets?" She starts to bounce on her feet as she waits for my reply, and I can't help but feel my face fall some more.

"Gwen?"

"Yeah, (Y/N)?"

"Let's call it a night." I can hear her groan and see her slump down in response to my answer.

"But things just got good!" She then crosses her arms in protest as a sigh escapes me.

"I know, but its also getting really late. If you haven't noticed, the sunset hours ago." The huntress-to-be then looks up to see that the area was being lit not by the sun, but by the large stadium lights that the school had.

"Oh, I didn't really notice." I chuckle again before responding.

"Yeah and we've been having a lot of late nights of training recently. I know you really like to train and I'm not saying I don't like improvement either, but its been over a week since the last time I didn't spend my evening training with you." Gwen gives me a sad nod as her arms move to her sides. As I continue to speak, I step forward and gently cup her cheek, making sure she's looking at me as I talk, "I'm not angry or anything, but to be honest with you, I could use a break. I wouldn't mind spending some time with you on a date, instead of just when we're in class or training." Gwen nods again in agreement.

"Alright, (Y/N), I understand." The brown eyed knife user then thinks for a moment before her face lights up with an idea, "Oh I know. The weekend is just two days away, so why don't we call it tonight and then train for the next two days, then when the weekend is here we can take a break. Sound good?" I think a little over her proposition, liking the sound of it, though also not looking forward to two more nights of training, "We can even have that schedule from now on. Weeks we work on improving ourselves and weekends we just relax together. Sound good?" When she gives me the big hopeful eyes, I can feel all my hang ups on more training melt away. Not like I can ever say no to her when she's like that.

"Okay Gwen, that sounds good." Gwen then squeals in excitement before she tightly hugs me again. The hug is tight enough that she even manages to pop my back.

"Thanks (Y/N)!" She squeezes me a little while longer before she then finally lets me go, "Alright, let's gather up all of my knives and then head to the showers. Don't want to leave a mess like this for the janitors." We both laugh a little at her joke before we get to work cleaning. A little bit into the cleaning process, our hands accidentally meet when we both go for the same knife. When I look up at Gwen, I find her giggling at our current situation before she then leans forward and gives me a quick kiss before saying.

"Love you (Y/N)."

Fun fact, the distance thing I was referencing are two official distances for American Knife throwing competitions. Any ways, got another RWBY character added to the book. I'm feeling pretty good about this, especially since I've managed to actually post a story once a day each day for the past week. All in all, I'm pretty happy that I got this done, not only for adding another RWBY character to the book and keeping the streak going, but just being able to write in general. I've been going through a bit of a funk lately, but each time I have written one of these one-shots, I've walked away feeling better than when I started, so thanks for reading this. Hopefully I can have keep on writing stories that you guys like. Anyways I'll stop rambling now and end it, so as always, hope you have a great day/night depending on when/where you're reading this.
