Ruby (RWBY) X (Wolf Faunus) Reader

Ruby's POV

Leaves and twigs crunch underneath my feet as I make my way through Forever Fall. A red leaf lands on my nose and I blow it off. Okay let's see, I've got a sandwich for me, (Y/N)'s favorite food (F/F), and some strawberry chocolate chip cookies for dessert. Yep the contents of the picnic basket are still here. They haven't changed since the last time I checked. Jeez I really need to calm down. I am sure everything is fine and I am just getting some "date jitters" as Blake and Yang put it. Just remember to breath, Ruby and everything will be fine. Another crunch pulls me back to reality. Hopefully I haven't kept (Y/N) waiting too long. A loud rustle comes from some bushes before a Beowolf suddenly leaps from the foliage. With one swift motion the creature is bisected diagonally across stomach. Not that I am complaining or anything but it's surprising how few Grimm I have seen today. I guess the teachers would not let us come out here if there were too many Grimm but still. Only one Beowolf this entire time. Oh well. While walking, the path slowly starts to open up into a clearing. Off to my side is a nice little hill. Oh there's (Y/N) standing up on the hill with his back to me and... his weapons active? Why would he have his claws out? Looking around there's signs of battle with broken branches, upturned bushes, bullet casings on the ground, embers and frost on the ground. I guess that explains what's up with (Y/N).

"Hey (Y/N)! Over here!" His tail perks up before he twists my way. Once his (E/C) meet my silver ones his tail starts excitedly swishing from side to side and his shoulders unknot.

"You made it." Using my semblance I rush over to him and give him a big hug.

"Of course I did! I wouldn't miss a chance to be with you." His face gains a happy grin, of which I happily return.

"Was your trip okay? Nothing messed with you?" With a shrug I respond.

"Nah I'm good. A Beowolf jumped out at me but I handled him pretty easily." His smile shrinks as (Y/N) nods.

"Dang, I thought I had them all. Figures at least one or two got away. Sorry." I wave my hand at him.

"Pfft there's nothing to be sorry about, silly. I'm not hurt and I can take care of myself. Besides you probably had your hands full with a couple of them so you are fine." The hunter-in-training rubs the back of his neck.

"Yeah if by a couple you me twenty then yeah, you can say that."

"Twenty! Whoa!" His smile soon grows back as his checks gain a crimson shade to them. "I guess that explains why the clearing looks the way it does." (Y/N) nods again.

"Yep. Had to make sure none of them bothered us while we are on our date, ya know?" A happy sound bursts from my lips as I hug him again.

"Aww that so sweet of you! Thank you!" I can hear the air quickly vacate his lungs as I hug the young faunus.

"N-no problem Ruby." Once I let him go and after he catches his breath, (Y/N) helps me set up our picnic. "So what do we got to eat Ruby?"

"Oh just some... (F/F)." (Y/N)'s tail sticks up as his face lights up.

"(F/F)!? You're the best Ruby." Smile triumphantly I pull out our drinks and hand (Y/N) his. After that I hold my drink up.

"Cheers?" (Y/N) grins goofily as he taps his drink to mine.

"Cheers."

Only thing about the picture that I don't like is that Ruby's eyes look red. Other than that I like it. This was requested by quite a few people so I won't tag them all. I'm sorry. Have great day/evening depending on when/where you are reading this.
