"Why did you come here?" Mitch asks as he looks over at Scott, much more calm than earlier.
"I missed you," Scott says, frowning slightly. "I want you to come home."
Mitch sighs. "I-I don't think I'm coming home," he mumbles. "I think it's better if I stay away."
"I'm not mad at you," Scott tries again. "There's just some things we need to work through."
"No, Scott. It's all me. I'm the one pressuring you and making things worse," Mitch says. "I think maybe... we just need some time apart from each other. Not forever. Just for a little bit, you know?"
"But, I won't have anyone to talk to," Scott frowns. "You'll find an Alpha who's better than me."
"That's not true. There's no Alpha better than you," Mitch says, gently grabbing Scott's hand.
"You promise?" Scott asks. "I don't remember what I was like as an Alpha." He sighs sadly. "I wish I did."
"Of course I promise. You were the sweetest and kindest Alpha while most other Alphas were mean, and thought they owned every Omega they came in contact with," Mitch tells him.
Scott tilts his head slightly. "Dads an Alpha and he isn't like that?"
"Well, of course. Rick is very kind. Not all Alphas are mean. But, most of them. They're the higher rank, so they think they're more superior than us. I guess they are, they like to abuse their higher ranking status," Mitch says. "God, I can only imagine the horrible things Damien told you about Omegas."
Scott flinches at the mention of Damien's name. "C-Can we please not talk about him?"
"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to-"
Scott shakes his head. "It's okay, Mitchy. It's just... the less I think about him, the better," he says. "So... you really aren't coming home? Where are you going to stay?"
"Well, I do have an Alpha friend named Beau. And, I know I won't be able to stay at Kirstie's forever so, he might let me stay with him for a couple weeks while I get myself together,"
"Alpha?" Scott asks nervously. "But you said..."
"Most Alphas. Beau is nice, trust me. Kirstie's met him before too. You can meet him to if you want,"
Scott nods. "I'd like to meet him first before you move in with him," he says.
Mitch giggles. "That's just like you. Always protective over me. You used to get so mad whenever an Alpha at school would even look at me," he says. "Of course, I was one of the five Omegas that went to our school so I guess you had every reason to get mad."
"Five?" Scott asks, his eyes widening. "Who were the other Omegas?"
"Let's see. It was me, Kirstie, our good friend Mark, Jake, and... oh yeah, Nicole," Mitch smiles.
"Who is Mark? Can I meet him? I want to meet all of my old friends," Scott says.
"Sure, if you want to. But... if we meet Mark, then we'll have to meet Mason too. I've never met an Alpha more protective than his Omega. More protective than you. It's a little scary. But, he actually has every reason to be protective of Mark. Poor guy hasn't had the best encounters with Alphas," Mitch frowns.
Kirstie finally comes back in to join Scott and Mitch again.
"You should call your parents. Let them know that you're safe," Kirstie tells Scott.
"Wait, you left without telling them?" Mitch asks, frowning as he looks over at Scott. "Scott, come on. Connie freaks out whenever you leave the house!"
