"I just don't know why you have to treat Scott so badly," Mitch says as he stands with Beau on the porch. He had called him over to the house, in hopes of talking to him about how he treats Scott.

It's been a week since Scott went to that dinner, but Mitch can't stop thinking about how Beau said that he wasn't a real Alpha. Scott is still getting used to the idea of being an Alpha rather than an Omega, so Mitch wants to try to change Beau's opinions on Scott.

"I'm not treating him badly," Beau tries to defend.

"You said he wasn't a real Alpha," Mitch snaps, crossing his arms against his chest against his chest.

"Because he's not a real Alpha," Beau scoffs. "Have you seen the way he acts?"

"He was abused for six years!" Mitch yells angrily. "Don't you have any sympathy?"

"If he was a real Alpha, he would have been able to defend himself," Beau snaps back at Mitch. "And don't you dare yell at me with that tone. We may be friends but you're still an Omega. I'm an Alpha."

Mitch stares at him with shock. "You know what, Beau? Fuck you-" Mitch points a finger at him angrily. "We can't be friends if that's how you're going to treat me, and my friends. I don't need you." He starts walking towards the door but gasps when Beau grabs his wrist harshly and pulls him back.

"You better watch how you talk to me," Beau growls, glaring at Mitch. "You need to learn your lessons."

Mitch gasps as he desperately tries to pull his arm back. "Let go of me,"

Beau chuckles and then he roughly let's go of Mitch, causing him to lose balance slightly. "I thought you were a different Omega," he says, watching Mitch. "You weren't weak, like most Omegas are."

Mitch looks at Beau with water eyes. "And I thought you weren't an asshole, like most Alphas," he says, taking a deep breath as he stares at Beau. "Goodbye Beau." He quickly turns around and he walks into the house. He shuts the door and leans against it.

"Mitchy?"

Mitch closes his eyes when he hears Scott's worried voice, before finally opening his eyes again and seeing Scott on the stairs. "I thought you were sleeping?"

"I woke up, and you weren't there-" Scott says, pouting slightly.

Mitch sighs and rubs his eyes, Beau's words in the back of his mind. But, he can't listen to Beau now. Scott's an Alpha. He's just different than most Alphas. It's something he'll have to get used to.

"Sorry," Mitch mumbles, making his way into the living room. He sits down on the couch.

"Are you okay?" Scott asks, following Mitch. "Why were you outside?"

"Because I wanted to be," Mitch snaps, before his eyes widen. He looks over at Scott. "I'm sorry-"

Scott stares at him. "W-Were you talking to someone?" He asks nervously.

Mitch looks down at his hands. "I was talking to Beau," he says, fiddling with his fingers nervously.

Scott frowns, and then he walks over to Mitch and sits down next to him. "Beau?" He asks, biting his lip. "But, why?" He looks over at Beau. "Beau's mean..."

"He's not mean," Mitch rolls his eyes. "He's just a typical Alpha."

"A-Are you going to leave me for Beau?" Scott asks, almost afraid to ask the question.

"What?" Mitch asks, looking over at Scott with shock. "Why would you even think that?"

"B-Because... you've been talking a lot about him lately. He's everywhere now. You were going to live with him," Scott says. "I understand if you want to be with him. You probably want a real Alpha."

"What makes you think you're not a real Alpha?" Mitch asks, staring at Scott. "Because of Beau?"

"He's right... isn't he?" Scott asks. "I-I'm not a real Alpha. I can't do Alpha things... I can't protect you."

"Scott, you have to get those thoughts out of your head. You're an Alpha. I know Damien-" He sighs when Scott flinches at Damien's name. "Sorry. I know he told you different things. But, you are strong, Scott. You're stronger than most Alphas are, and I'm talking more than muscles. I love you because you're you. You don't try to change yourself to fit in with the Alphas. I don't want you to ever change."

"I'm never going to be able to protect you..." Scott tries to argue. "Alphas need to protect their Omegas."

"Yes you can. You just keep telling yourself that you can't protect me," Mitch says softly.

"No, I want to become stronger," Scott says, looking over at Mitch. "Eventually we'll be out on our own. And, if someone tries to take you... I want to be the one to protect you."

"Well, okay..." Mitch shrugs his shoulder. "You can start going to the gym then."

"That sounds like a lot of work," Scott sighs, earning a giggle from Mitch.

"You sound like me," Mitch smiles, and then he scoots closer to Scott and cuddles him.

Scott looks down at Mitch, and he can't help but smile at the Omega. He hesitates before finally wrapping his arms around Mitch and pulling him closer. Scott doesn't care what anyone says. He's going to prove that he can be a real Alpha, and he's not going to let anyone take Mitch away from him.
