A/N: I might do a sequel chapter, like a time jump. Let me know if you'd want to see something like that :)

It takes Scott a long time to get used to living in an apartment without his parents. He has Mitch and Kirstie with him to support him, but it just feels weird to him.

Everything is moving so fast it seems. But, this is what he wants. He wanted this. He knows what he went through for six years when he was being held captive by Damien and the other Alphas. Most people wouldn't probably move on so fast after going through something like that. But, he doesn't want to dwell on the past forever even if it sometimes hurt still when he thinks  about it. He wants to be able to move on, and work on making his future better for him and for Mitch.

Scott is able to get a job at the library near the apartment. It's not the typical job that an Alpha would get, but Scott's starting to realize that he'll never be a "typical Alpha" and he's okay with that. The library is peaceful and quiet, just what Scott needs as he's still getting used to interacting with others after being locked away for six years. People near the library are actually nice too, which also helps him.

Scott sighs as he sits behind the desk at the library. Only a couple more hours until he can go home, and then it's finally the weekend. It's been a long week, and he can't wait to be with his Omega again.

"Hi Alpha,"

Scott looks over and sits up when he sees Mitch walking up to the desk.

"Mitchy," Scott smiles at the Omega. "Wow. I was just thinking about you!"

"Aw, you're so sweet," Mitch leans over and kisses him gently.

"But, what are you doing here? You didn't come here all by yourself, did you?" Scott asks, frowning.

"No, of course not silly," Mitch shakes his head. "I called your parents and they offered to drive me here. It's just... I got bored being by myself at the apartment."

"Wait, where is Kirstie?" Scott asks, frowning.

"Shoot. I forgot to tell you. She left earlier to be with that one Alpha she started seeing a few months ago. Uh, what was his name again?" Mitch asks as he tries to remember.

Scott chuckles. "His name is Avriel. Avi for short," he reminds him.

"Oh, yes! That's the one," Mitch nods. "She left a couple hours ago."

Scott frowns. "I don't like that you were at the apartment all by yourself. You should have called me,"

"Don't worry. I locked all the windows and doors. Nobody would have gotten in," Mitch says.

"You don't know that. You have to be more careful. Just... call me, please?" Scott asks softly.

"You're right. I'm sorry, Alpha. I just thought it would be okay," Mitch says. "Anyway. I brought you lunch-" He holds up a McDonalds bag. "I hope you haven't eaten yet today."

Scott smiles. "I haven't. This is so sweet of you, Mitchy!"

"I'm sorry. Did he just call you Alpha?"

Scott looks over and blinks a few times when he sees a woman standing at the desk. "Um, yes. Why?"

"It's just... I thought you were an Omega. You were so kind and helpful to me earlier," she smiles at him.

"My Alpha is the sweetest Alpha," Mitch smiles proudly. "He treats everybody the same."

"That's wonderful to hear. I wish there were more Alphas like you," the woman smiles at him. "Um, anyways. I'm ready to check out these books. I'm sorry to interrupt this."

"That's alright-" Scott turns to help the woman, and Mitch can't help but smile proudly as he watches Scott. Just a few months ago, Scott wouldn't have been able to do this. He would have been too scared. Now, he's not as afraid to talk to people when he's out in public. He gets scared still sometimes, but Mitch is usually there to tell him that there's no need to be afraid.

Scott bids goodbye to the woman and watches her leave, before turning his attention back to Mitch.

"You're just in time too. My lunch break starts now," Scott grins.

Scott goes to sit outside with Mitch at one of the picnic tables. He's quite a sunny day outside, so it's the perfect weather to have a quick little picnic with his Omega.

"I'm so proud of you, Alpha," Mitch smiles as he looks up at Scott.

"I didn't do anything," Scott blinks a few times.

"Of course you did. You just haven't realized. You've come so far since you came home. Remember the first time we tried to take you to the mall and you couldn't do it? You had a panic attack. Now look at you. You're working at the library and you're helping others. You're not afraid anymore," Mitch smiles at him.

"That's not true. I'm still afraid. I'm afraid everyday that I'll get taken again, or that someone will take you away from me. I don't want to live without you. I don't know how you did it for six years," Scott frowns.

"I just had hope that one day we would be with each other again," Mitch whispers.

"And here we are. We're together again. We have a beautiful apartment, I have a job that helps pay, and Kirstie has an Alpha now. Everything is falling into place," Scott sighs happily.

Mitch reaches over and grabs Scott's hand, leaning over to kiss him. "I love you, Alpha..."

Scott smiles at him. "I love you too, Mitchy. So much. Thank you for everything you've done for me, and for having patience when things got hard. Things are still hard. I know the nightmares are a pain, and sometimes I still have panic attacks when we go out. But, I'm working on it," he says.

Mitch shakes his head. "Don't say that, Alpha. You know I'm willing to take as much time as you need. We're a team. We're in this together. No matter what," he assures Scott. "That's a promise."
