YAH GURL'S BACK! 

I met this cute guy over the summer and got his number :D, but that's irrelevant.

I'm so, so sorry I couldn't update I had living camp but I'M BACK NOW!

ON WITH THE STORY...

I groan and open my eyes and for a second I panic because I'm not in my room. Then I remember that I stayed over at Jack's and I'm in one of his hoodies. I blush, and blush even harder when I realize his arm is draped over my waist. I get up slowly, trying not to disturb him, but he stirs and smiles once he realizes that we're cuddling.

It's a sleepy, sleepy smile. I realize he looks really cute when he's this sleepy. I guess it's because I've only ever seen him alert and with a scowl on his face. And he's usually pushing me into a locker.

"Jack, get up. We have school." I whisper.

"Zach....." He whines. I grin despite myself, and shake my head no.

I'm surprised when he drags me down again and we're face to face.

"We're staying. My mom can call them in." I just look at him in shock when he says that.

"You wouldn't dare....I have a perfect attendance record! Bye Jack!" I get up off the bed, grab my things and I'm about to walk out the door when he tells me he's coming. I grin and make myself some breakfast while I wait.

"JONAH! Did he say yes??? Did he, did he, did he?" I bounce up and down.

Jonah blushes and nods, and when Daniel approaches us, he blushes too.

"Just kiss already." Corbyn says from behind me. He covers my eyes as they lean in towards each other and I swat his hand away. I see Jack looking over at us with a slight smirk on his face and a light blush comes on my cheeks. Corbyn looks over at Jack who quickly looks away, then turns to me.

"How'd the date go?" Corbyn smirks. Daniel and Jonah even stop kissing so they can listen. I shrug.

"One, it wasn't a date. Two, he was really kinda of nice. He's gonna be an ass at school though. Oh, and he ended up cuddling me when I feel asleep." I blush even harder at the last part. Daniel hugs me while Jonah pokes me in the cheek. Corbyn just smiles and ruffles my hair. The bell rings, and we head off to first period.

"LUNCH!" Daniel screams, and I start laughing along with Corbyn and Jonah.

"Have you started on your song?" I ask nervously.

"No.... I have no idea what to write it about." Daniel sighs while Jonah places a soft kiss on his temple.

"I'm sure you'll figure something out." Corbyn says as we take a seat at our table. I take out my sandwich and start eating it while the rest of the guys go get their food. A finger taps me on the shoulder and I turn around, hoping it's Jack, but it isn't.

It's Gabbie.

And she looks mad AF.

She grabs my shirt and leans in to whisper to me.

"Stay away from Jack. You don't know the things I could do to him." She pulls back and for a second her eyes are black pits, then they go back to their original color. As she pulls her arm back to slap me, I blast her in the chest with darkness. She flies back while people just stare. As if on cue, everyone stands up and faces me, and their eyes are all black. Gabbie flicks her hand towards me, and as if there was a silent command, they all come shuffling in my direction.

I take a quick picture for proof, then shadow travel to the place where I had my Awakening.

I head into room 18 to see the familiar face of the lady that Awakened me, reading. She looks up and her face shows surprise.

"Zach? What are you doing here?" She gets up and guides me over to the couch. I quickly explain what happened in the cafeteria and a fearful expression comes over her face.

"Oh dear. What did you say her name was again?"

"Gabriela Gonzalez." The lady pulls up a document and searched for the name and gestures for me to look over her shoulder. Next to Gabbie's name is the word: Trancer.

"What she just did to all those people in the cafeteria... she put them in a Trance. She reached out her consciousness to all of them and gave them her command. The only way to block that is to shield your mind. To do so, you must focus on a small detail and keep it in your head so she can't enter. People with the Skill of Trancing are often those with great hatred and bitterness. They don't understand things like love." She sighs. Suddenly, I get a phone call and put it on speaker.

"Zach, where are you? We turned away for a quick second and you weren't there!" I mouth to the lady, 'should I tell them?' She nods her head yes.

"Guys, I'll tell you at school. And I forgot my juice so I traveled back home to get it. I'll come over now." The lady stands up with me and hugs me. Just as I'm about to travel, I hear her say one last thing.

"Your heart has the strongest will."

I'm back in the cafeteria and in front of the boys. Without a second thought, I stand up and walk outside. I can't deal with all the talking right now. I go to the playground and lay in the grass, wondering why life has to be so complicated. I sigh, enjoying the feeling of grass on my back when I feel someone lay next to me. I turn to my side and I'm greeted with his familiar brown eyes.

"Hi, Jack." I whisper, looking back at the sky.

"What are you doing out here? You never come outside to eat. You're always inside talking up the ladies or sitting with the team. Why now?" I ask.

"Why are you alone? The guys are always with you." Jack says.

"I needed to get away from the chaos called the cafeteria." I sigh.

"Oh. What's wrong?" He asks.

"Yeah man, what's wrong?" Corbyn's voice comes from behind my head as the guys lay down on the other side of me. I pull out my phone and pull up the picture. First, I show Jack, then I show the boys.

"You guys are in the right corner." I inform them.

"Why are my eyes full on black?" Corbyn asks, panicked.

"Why don't I remember that?" Jonah stares at the phone screen.

"Gabbie.... she's a Trancer. In that photo, she put all of you guys in a Trance. But I traveled away to visit my Awakener before you could do anything. She told me that Gabbie extended her consciousness to each and every one of you and took control of your minds, and she also told me that you have to shield your mind when she does that. And.... people who have the skill of Trancing are often the most bitter people, and that they don't understand things like love." I leave out the part about the heart thing. I don't want them to know about it.

All the guys look shocked except for Jack, who's faking it.

The first bell rings before any of them can ask questions, and as I get up to leave, Jack grabs onto my arm.

"Meet me after school. We're going to my place." I nod okay, and I catch his eyes flick down to my lips then back up at my eyes, and right now he looks really kissable. Jack leans in a little and grins a half smile. My breathing slows and he stares at me for what feels like a long time.

He leans in a little more when the second bell rings and we jump apart. I quickly pack up my stuff and shadow travel to 5th period without a second glance back.
