"He's not telling me shit!" Jack complained to Corbyn as they were eating lunch.
"He has a right, Jack. Especially with Gabbie around now. You have to stop thinking about yourself and look at it from his perspective," Corbyn sighed.
"Yeah, but doesn't he understand that he can trust me? I mean -"
"Jack, listen to me. He trusts Jonah and Christina because that's all he's ever known! And as for trusting you? He has a right to be doubtful, especially because of how two-faced you can be when she's around. Break up with her, and maybe, maybe, he'll trust you," Corbyn said, pissed.
"But can't he tell that I'm just trying to help?" Jack protested.
"He's alexithymic, Jack. To him, everyone's out to get him or humiliate him,"
"He's not wrong, you know? You should listen to him," Zach said as he walked past the curly-headed boy's table, leaving behind a very surprised and embarrassed Jack.
"See?" Corbyn said through gritted teeth, his only reply being the color rising to Jack's cheeks.
"Babe!" Came a voice from behind him. Jack didn't turn around to look at who it was.
"Babe, what are you doing with a bunch of nerds?" Gabbie laughed, the sound way too fake.
"Come on, let's go sit over there," Jack grumbled as he saw where Gabbie was pointing to. It was the table full of jocks that were all eyeing Gabbie, more specifically her ass, and laughing. He could overhear one of them say, "Bet, I can tap that ass," Jack looked away, disgusted, and shook his head.
"No thanks. You can go sit with them though," He said as he turned away. He could hear Gabbie huff as she made her way over to the table, instantly flirting with the guys there.
"She's disgusting," Jack said as he ran a hand through his hair.
"Break up with her. She's probably cheating on you anyways. Look," Corbyn pointed a finger in the direction of the table, where she was sitting on the lap of Austin. Jack shrugged as he reached inside his bag for his food.
"Not my fault she ain't got shit in her brain."
"Very accurate observation," Mused Zach as he, Jonah, and Christina sat down at the table. "She sounds a lot like my father, except that he'd be easier to burn considering all of the alcohol he's consumed. It also seems like her and Austin are going to be making out," The younger boy said as he nodded towards the table, where Gabbie was dragging Austin towards the cafeteria doors. "If you want to break up with her, I suggest you follow them and make it look like you walked in on them. Make sure you put on your best acting job, too." Jack stood up and saw that the younger boy was staring at him with his head tilted to the side, as if thinking about something.
"Go, before things turn sexual," Zach commented before breaking the staring contest and looking down at his textbook as Jack left. Daniel and Corbyn gaped at him, their faces showing excitement and joy.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" He questioned as he saw the gazes the boys were giving him.
"We've wanted him to break up with Gabbie for so long, and now he's finally doing it because you told him to. You have to mean something to him," Corbyn said before Zach waved him off with a dismissive glance.
"The place where my figurative heart would be is a gaping void, surely no one would like an alexithymic person. It's just not logical."
"Not everything in life is logical, you know?" Daniel said as he ignored the urgent looks Christina and Jonah were giving him. Zach closed his textbook as he leaned across the table and stared directly into Daniel's eyes, the intense glare making the older boy squirm in discomfort.
