Chapter 7

Steve, Magdalen and Peggy are in a car driving through Brooklyn.
"I know this neighborhood. I got beat up in that alley. And that parking lot. And behind that diner." Steve says point to where he had gotten beat up before.
"Oh, yes. The good ol days." Magdalen says sarcastically.
"Did you have something against running away?" Peggy asks Steve.
"You start running they'll never let you stop. You stand up, push back. Can't say no forever, right?" Steve asks.

"I know a little of what that's like. To have many doors shut in your face." Peggy says sadly.
"I guess I just don't know why you'd wanna join the army if you're a beautiful dame. Or a beautiful...a woman. An agent, not a dame! You are beautiful, but..." Steve says trying to correct himself.
"You have no idea how to talk to a woman, do you?" Peggy asks.
"No, he doesn't. This is the longest conversation he's had with one. Women aren't exactly lining up to dance with a guy they might step on." Magdalen says laughing.
"No offense, Steve" Magdalen says seriously.
"None taken." Steve tells Magdalen.
"You must have danced?" Peggy asks Steve.
"Well, asking a woman to dance always seems so terrifying. And the past few year just didn't seem to matter that much. Figured I'd wait." Steve informs.

"For what?" Peggy questions.
"The right partner" Magdalen tells her as they pull up to an antiques shop. The car stops and they get out of the car.
"What are we doing here?" Steve asks Peggy.
"Follow me" Peggy orders as they go inside.

"Wonderful weather this morning isn't it?" The Antique store owner asks Peggy as she walks out of a back room.
"Yes, but I always carry an umbrella." Peggy answers. The shop owner pushes a button under the counter where a gun is hidden.
Peggy leads Steve and Magdalen into a hidden lab to Abraham, Amelia and their team in a circular room filled with machinery and two pods in the middle of the room.

"Good morning." Amelia says walking over to Steve and Magdalen, and shakes they hands. Then a somebody takes a photograph.
"Please, not now" Abraham tells the Photographer as he walks over to Amelia and the siblings. The photographer walks away.
"Are you ready?" Abraham asks Steve and Magdalen.
"Good. Take off your shirt, your tie and your hat." Amelia tells Steve. He looks confused but does what she told him to do. Amelia turns to Magdalen.
"And Ms. Rogers, put this on." Amelia orders Magdalen while handing her a white shirt.
"Okay. And my skirt?" Magdalen questions Amelia.
"Your skirt is fine." Amelia tells Magdalen before walking over to the pods.

In the adjacent observation chamber filled with officials.

"Senator Brandt, glad you could make it." Colonial Phillips says to the Senator.
"Why exactly am I in Brooklyn?" Senator Brandt asks Phillips annoyed.
"We needed access to the city's power grid. Of course, if you'd given me the generators I requisitioned-" Phillips starts to explain before Brandt cuts him off
"A lot of people are asking for funds, Colonel." Brandt tells Phillips. Brandt motions to the man beside him.
"Oh, this is-" Brandt starts to say before the man beside him enterups him.
"Fred Clemson. State Department." The man inturduces himself shaking Phillips hand.
"If this project of yours comes through, we'd like to see it used for something other than headlines." Clemson informs Phillips.
"Jesus. Someone get those kids a sandwich." Brandt says looking out the glass and down at Steve and Magdalen.

In the room where Steve and Magdalen are.

Steve and Magdalen climb into the pads and lay down.
"Comfortable?" Amelia asks Steve and Magdalen.
"It's a little big. You save any of that schnapps?" Steve asks jokingly.
"Not as much as I should have. Next time." Amelia answer then turns to Howard Stark.
"Howard, how are our levels?" Amelia asks Stark.
"Levels at 100%" Stark says looking back at Amelia.
"Good." Amelia says simply.

"We may dim half the lights in Brookly, but we are ready as we'll ever be." Howard says.
"Agent Carter? Don't you think you would be more comfortable in the booth?" Abraham asks Peggy.
"Oh, yes, of course. Sorry." Peggy apologizes before going up to where all the officials are.
"Good." Abraham says as he takes hold of a microphone and taps it.
"Do you hear me? Is this on?" Abraham asks speaking into the microphone.

"Yes, father they can." Amelia whispers to Abraham now standing beside him.
"Right. Ladies and gentlemen, today we take not another step towards annihilation, but the first step on the path to peace. We begin with a series of micro injections into the subjects major muscle groups. The serum infusion will cause immediate cellular change. And then to stimulate growth, the subjects will be saturated with Vita-Rays" Abraham explains.

Amelia walks back over to Steve and Magdalen. Amelia grabs a syringe and stands beside Steve.
"That wasn't so bad" Steve says to Amelia after she injects him with the syringe.
"That was penicillin." Amelia tells him. She then walks over to Magdalen.
"Did he really just think that was the procedure?" Magdalen asks laughing.
"It would appear so." Amelia says laughing too, before injecting Magdalen too.

"Serum infusion beginning in five, four, three, two, one." Abraham counts down. As the serum is injected into Magdalen and Steve.
"Now, Howard." Amelia tells Stark.
He lowers a leaver, the pods move upright and enclose Steve and Magdalen inside.
Amelia and Abraham walk over to the capsules they looked Steve and Magdalen in for the procedure,
"Steven, can you hear me?" Abraham asks Steve.
"It's probably to late to go to the bathroom, right?" Steve asks jokingly. Amelia laughs then taps on Magdalen's pod.
"You alright, Magdalen?" Amelia asks calling her by her first name.
"Hey! You called me Magdalen! I didn't think you knew how to do that." Maggy jokes. Amelia chuckles then turns to her father (who was already looking at her) and nods.
"We will proceed." Abraham tells Stark.

Stark nods and starts the machine again.
"That's ten percent. Twenty percent. Thirty. 40%" Stark says managing the controls.
"Vital signs are normal" an SSR Doctor says looking at a screen.
"That's 50%. Sixty. Seventy." Stark continues. Then Steve starts to scream in pain, but Magdalen stays silent.

"Steven!" Abraham yells worriedly. Amelia runs over to Magdalen's pod. "Ms. Rogers? Magdalen?! Are you alright!?" Amelia asks panicked but Magdalen doesn't respond. Peggy runs down the stairs.
"Shut it down!" Amelia and Peggy yell.
"Steven!" Abraham tells again knocking on the pod.
"Shut it down!" Peggy yells again.
"Kill the reactor! Howard! Turn it off! Kill it! Kill the reactor!" Amelia orders Stark.

"No! Don't! We can do this!" Steve and Magdalen yell. Everyone is relieved to hear Magdalen.
"Eighty. Nintey. That's 100%." Stark says as everything overloads until the reactor shuts itself down.
"Mr. Stark?" Abraham asks. Then Stark opens the pods, to reveal Steve and Magdalen now taller and stronger.
"Steven. Steven." Abraham says as he and Stark help him stand up. Another Doctor walks over and helps Magdalen.

In the booth with the officials.

"He did it" Phillips says in awe
As everyone Poor's out of the observation room. The man that was with Brandt leaves a small, metal object like cigarette case in one of the chairs.

In the lab with Amelia.

Stark stands beside Abraham astonished.
"I did it." Stark says.
"Yeah. Yeah. I think we did." Abraham says still helping Steve.
"We actually did it" Stark says still in awe.
"We did it. We really did it." Amelia whisper with her hands on her head, not believing it.
"You alright Amelia?" Steve and Magdalen ask her. She looks at then.
"Am I alright? I think I should ask you that." Amelia tells them.

"How do you feel?" Peggy asks them.
"Taller" they both say.
"You look taller." Amelia says smiling.
"How do you like Brooklyn now, Senator?" Phillips asks.
"I can think of some folks in Berlin who are about to get very nervous. Congratulations, Doctors." Senator Brandt congratulates Amelia and Abraham while shaking their hands.
"Thank you, sir." Abraham says.

The man that was with the Senator detonates the bomb in the observation room and uses the confusion it caused everyone to steal the last vile of the serum.
"Stop him!" Abraham and Amelia yell.
The man turns to Amelia and Abraham and shoots Abraham in the chest then Amelia in the leg making them fallto the ground. He the runs off with Peggy chasing after him. Amelia cry's out in pain. She looks at her father and sees that he's bleeding badly.

"Papa!" Amelia shouts then gets off the ground and limps over to her father.
"Your going to be okay." Amelia says trying not to cry. Steve kneels down on the other side of Abraham. Abraham points to where Steve and Magdalen's hearts are then turns to Amelia.
"ich liebe dich, meine tochter. (I love you, my daughter.)" Abraham tells her smiling sadly at her.
"ich liebe dich auch Papa. (I love you too Dad)" Amelia says crying before Abraham closes his eyes and stops breathing.
"Papa? Papa!? Bitte verlass micc nicht. (Dad! Dad!? Please don't leave me.)" Amelia begs hugging her fathers body. Then looks up at Steve and Magdalen.

"let's go get him" Amelia says standing up. They look at her and nod before they all run (Amelia more so limping.) out of the building.
