Chapter 20

Steve and Amelia take over the plane's controls, on a screen Steve reads "Ziel New York City" (target New York City), Amelia tries the radio to see if someone will answer.
"Come in. This is Dr. Erskine and
Captain Rogers. Do you read me?" Amelia asks.

"Dr. Erskine, what is your-" Morita starts to respond, before Peggy pushes him out of the way.
"Amelia, Steve, is that you? Are you alright?" Peggy questions.
"Peggy! Schmidt's dead" Steve says half-heartedly, focusing more on steering the jet. Suddenly Magdalen's voice is heard from Peggy's side of the radio.
" Steve What about the plane? You and Amelia are still on there!" Magdalen says her voice sounding panicked

"That's a little bit tougher to explain," Amelia says carefully.
"Give is your coordinates, we'll find you a safe landing site." Peggy says sounding desperate.
"There's not going to be a safe landing. But I can try and force it down." Steve says.
"I'll get Howard on the line, he'll know what to do." Peggy says quickly.

"There's not enough time. This thing's moving too fast it's heading for New York. I gotta put her in the water." Steve announces.
"Please, don't do this. We have time. We can work it out." Magdalen says with tears in her eyes.
"Right now we're in the middle of nowhere. If we wait any longer a lot of people are gonna die. Magdalen this is our choice." Amelia states. No on says anything for a moment. "Magdalen? Peggy?" Steve asks worriedly. "We're here." Peggy confirms. "We're gonna need a rain check on that dance guys." Amelia says.

"Alright. A week, next Saturday, at the stork club." Peggy says crying.
"You got it" Steve's voice says over the radio.
"Eight o'clock on the dot. Don't you dare be late Steven. Understood?" Magdalen orders.
"You know, I still don't know how to dance." Amelia says sarcastically.
"We'll show you. Just be there" Peggy says, starting to cry.
"We'll have the band play somethin' slow I'd hate to step on your-" Steve says addressing Amelia, before the line turns to static.

Amelia's POV.

The radio stoped working before Steve finished his sentence.
I looked over to him with tears in my eyes.
"Steve?" I asked. He looked at me
"It's going to be okay." Steve tells me trying to comfort me.
"Don't lie to me." I said sadly. He grabbed my hand while the other was forcing the plane down.
"I love you, Lia." Steve said smiling gravely. I smiled back at him.
"I love you too, Steve." I said as the plane crashed into the ice and my vision went black.

3rd person.

"Steve? Amelia?" Magdalen and Peggy say crying.

Timeskip.

Peggy and Magdalen are walking in New York, avoiding people celebrating the victory of winning the war. When they see a wall with pictures of people that had fallen, including Steve and Amelia.

The howling commandos are in a bar when James Montgomery Falsworth Lifts his drink and says "To the Captain and the Doctor" the other commandos toast and then they drink.

Stark is on his search for the Valkyrie in the Arctic sea on a ship. They've found the Tesseract.
"Sir?" Stark's engineer asks. Stark steps to him and watches on the screen how a submarine grabs the cube. "Take is to the next grid point" Howard orders.
"But there's not a trace of wreckage. And the engine signature stops here." Starks engineer states.
"Just keep looking." Howard says sadly.

With Peggy and Magdalen.

Phillips sets a file on the table by Peggy then walks away. Peggy looks at it and picks it up. Maggy looks at it and sees what it says 'Captain America. Classified'. Peggy opens it to see a photo of Steve before the serum.

Amelia's POV.

I start to hear the sound of a radio.
As I open my eyes I look around the room and see Steve up in a bed next me. He looks at me worriedly. "You all right?" He asks me. "Yeah. I think so." I answer. Then we hear the door click open. Turning our heads to the noise, we see a nurse walking in.

"Curve ball, high and outside for ball one. So the Dodgers are tied, 4-4and the crowd well knows that with one swing of his bat, this fellow's capable of making it a brand-new game again. Just an absolutely gorgeous day here at Ebbets Field. The Phillies have managed to tie up 4-4. But the dodgers have three men on. Pearson beaned Reiser in Philadelphia last month. Wouldn't the youngsters like a hit here to return the favour? Pete leans in. Here's the pitch. Swung on. A line to the right. And it gets past Rizzo. Three runs will score. Reiser heads to third. Durocher's going to wave him in. Here comes the relay, but they won't get him" I hear from the radio.

"Good morning or should I say afternoon?" The nurse asks looking at her watch.
"Where are we?" I ask her
"You're in a recovery room in New York City" she says gently, but I can tell she's lying.
"The Dodgers take the lead 8-4. Oh, Dodgers! Everyone is on their feet. What a game we have here today, folks. What a game indeed." I hear from the radio.
"Where are we really?" Steve asks suspiciously.
"I'm afraid I don't understand." The nurse says confused.
"The game. It's from May, nineteen forty one. I know, cause I was there. Now, I'm gonna ask you again. Where are we?" Steve asks getting up from the bed. I start to stand up too.

"Captain Rogers..." she says as I see her press a button.
"Who are you?" I ask frantically, now standing by Steve.
When two soldiers in black enter the room. Me and Steve look at each other. And then we knock the soldiers through the wall behind us.
"Captain Rogers, Dr. Erskine, wait! All agents, code 13!" The nurse says over an inter comm. we run out the door to see a bunch of people. We push them down and run out out of the building.

When we get outside I see huge buildings and strange cars. We look around in awe and confusion. When a bunch of black cars circle us. a man with an eyepatch steps out of one of the cars and walks toward us. " at ease, soldier! Look, I'm sorry about that little show back there, but... we thought it best to break it to you both slowly." The man with the eyepatch says.
"Break what?" I ask confused.
"You've both been asleep, Doc. For almost seventy years." Eyepatch man informs us. I look at him with wide eyes. "You guys gonna be okay?" Eyepatch asks me and Steve.
"Yeah. Yeah. We just...we had a date" Steve says looking at me sadly.

3rd person POV.

Post credits seen

Steve is pummeling a punching bag in a gym. while Amelia is sitting on a chair near by doing research. Suddenly Steve knocks the punching bag off the chains, sending it flying across the room. Amelia looks up from her book, and looks at the punching bag that's now in front of her feet.
"Nice going Steve!" Amelia shouts sarcastically. As Fury walks into the gym
"trouble sleeping?"Fury asks Steve.
"You're here with a mission, sir?" Steve asks back.
"Of course he is! Why else would he be here?" Amelia questions. Steve rolls his eyes at her.
"I am" Fury states simply.
"Trying to get us back in the world?" Steve asks curiously.
"Trying to save it" Fury answers.
