Later that night Steve and Magdalen are sitting in there beds reading when Abraham and Amelia knock on the door.
"May we?" Amelia asks pointing to the bed next to Steve's.
"Yeah" Steve says
"Can't sleep?" Abraham asks.
"I got the jitters, I guess." Steve Answers.
"Me, too." Amelia says laughing.
"Can we ask you a question?" Magdalen asks Amelia.
"Just one?" She asks sitting in front of them
"Why us?" Steve asks curiously.
"I suppose that is the only one that matters." Amelia answers. Abraham is looking at the bottle he brought with them.

"This is from Augsburg. Our city. So many people forget that the first country that the Nazi's invaded was their own. You know, after the last war the...my people struggled. They...they felt weak. They felt small. And then Hitler comes along with the marching and the big show and the flags and the...and the..." Abraham waves his hand trailing off
"And he...he hears of us, our work and he finds us, And he says "You." He says "You will make us strong." Well, we are not interested. So he sends the head of Hydra, his research division. A brilliant scientist by the name of Johann Schmidt. Now, Schmidt is a member of the inner circle and he's ambitious. He and Hitler share a passion for occult power and Teutonic myth. Hitler uses his fantasies to inspire his followers. But for Schmidt it is not fantasy. For him, it is real. He has become convinced that there is a great power hidden in the earth, left here by the Gods, waiting to be seized by a superior man. So when he hears about my formula and what it can do, he cannot resist." Amelia says finishes her fathers sentence.

Amelia thinks back to when Schmidt took the formula and injected himself with it.
"Schmidt must become that superior man." Abraham says bringing Amelia out of her thoughts.
"Did it make him stronger?" Magdalen questions.
"Yeah. But, there were other effects. The serum was not ready. But more important, the man. The serum amplifies everything that is inside. So, good becomes great. Bad becomes worse. This is why you were chosen. Because a strong man, who has known power all his life, will lose respect for that power. But a weak man knows the value of strength, and knows compassion" Amelia says.

"Thanks. I think." Steve says.
"Whatever happens tomorrow, you must promise me one thing. That you will stay who you are. Not a perfect soldier, but a good man." Abraham says pouring 4 drinks and handing 2 to Steve and Magdalen, and the other to Amelia.
"Mmm...no thank you, I don't drink." Magdalen says politely.
"To the little guys." Steve says holding up his drink and toasting with Amelia and Abraham.
"No! No! Wait! Wait! What are you doing papa? No! They have a procedure tomorrow. No fluids." Amelia orders quickly taking the drink away from Steve.

"Yes, schatz (Sweetheart) your right. My bad." Abraham says to Amelia.
"All right. We'll drink it after." Steve says smiling.
"No! We don't have procedure tomorrow. Drink it after? Drink it now!" Amelia says downing her drink

At the HYDRA facility, in Schmidt's lab.

"Is there something in particular you need?" Schmidt asks Dr. Zola. The lights are off and someone is off to the side of the room painting Schmidt as he stands facing a window.
"I understand you found them." Dr. Zola says.
"See for yourself." Schmidt says as Dr. Zola steps over to the table to find several surveillance photos of Amelia and Abraham.
"You disapprove." Schmidt says still facing the window.

"I just don't see why you need concerne yourself. I can't imagine they will succeed." Dr. Zola says looking nervously at Schmidt.
"Again" Dr. Zola adds.
"Their serum is the Allies' only defence against this power we now possess. If we take it away from them, then our victory is assured." Schmidt reassures Dr. Zola.
"Shall I give the order?" Dr. Zola asks.
"It has been given." Schmidt says simply.
"Good" Dr. Zola says and turns to leave.
"Dr. Zola." Schmidt calls as he turns on the lights.
"What do you think?" Schmidt asks. Dr. Zola looks at the painting that the artist is working on. The artist looks nervously at Dr. Zola.
"A masterpiece." Dr. Zola says. The artist looks relived with his answer.
