HOUSEKEEPER - JAEHYUN x READER

no response

I could not sleep. Xiumin and Baekhyun had not come home from their jobs yet, and my parents were fighting as usual. I also could not help but to think about that if I get the job, I'll have to move in with 18 guys.

My mind kept me awake the whole night, and I did not get one minute of sleep. The sun peeked through my curtains, causing me to get up. I went to get breakfast. I only made for myself and my brothers, considering my parents had already left. In the last few days, they have been out looking for jobs.

When I was done making breakfast, I went to get my brothers. At first I yelled, but I did not get any answers. They were probably still sleeping, so I went upstairs to get them.

I knocked on Xiumin's door, and waited for him to come out. I did not get any response, so I decided to open the door. My eyes kept searching for him, but I could not find him anywhere.

I decided to check Baekhyun's room too,  maybe both of them were there. I repeatedly knocked, but there was no response, so I opened up without hesitation. I could not find them there either, so I pulled up my phone to call them. I tried to call both of them several times, but once again, there were not any response.

It has now been a couple of days since I had my interview. My brothers has been working more than ever, and my parents are rarely home. Every time they're home, it's just to eat dinner or to get some sleep. I never actually get to talk to them.

I started to look for old photo albums, I wanted to see pictures of all of us together, smiling. I found one and started to look through it. Old pictures of me and my brothers playing and having fun kept showing, and all I wanted for us was to go back and be happy again.

After several pages, I found one of me and another little kid, that I could not recall. We were holding around each other and smiled. I picked it up and looked at the rear side of it, and it said:

'Little Y/N and Lee Taeyong, 5 years old'

I spent the evening all alone, again. I just sat on the couch watching tv, until I noticed that my phone rang. I turned the tv off, and went to get it.

"Hello, you are talking to Y/N."

"Hello Y/N, this is Leeteuk!"

My heart started to beat faster, and I got a lump in my throat.

"I just called to let you know that you got the job! You had a quite impressive interview. Taeyong seemed to like you a lot as well. You can come tomorrow and sign the paperworks. You will have to move in by next week, I hope it is not too soon?"

I did hesitate for a second. I did not want to leave my family, but it was the only way I could help them out. I would also have to move out eventually, I am nineteen years old after all.

"No, it is perfect. I will do my very best. Thank you."
I said and later hung up.

Later that day, when my parents arrived at home, I immediately went to talk to them.

"Hello, mom and dad, you're home!"

I greeted them with a smile plastered on my face. I walk towards them in excitement while I'm about to share the good news.

After I told them everything about the job, my parents were very happy. They congratulated me, and hugged me.
I told them that I would send them money as well, something that made them even happier.

I was still very worried about Baekhyun and Xiumin. I had not seen them in a long time now, and I was worried they might be overworked. I did not have the courage to ask my parents about it before. I did not want to disturb them at this time, but I decided to ask them anyway.

"Where are Xiumin and Baekhyun? I know they went for work, but they've been gone for such a long time now, and I am starting to worry about them."

My parents nervously looked at each other, and my mom mouthed something to my dad, causing me to worry a bit more. Are they hiding something? I feel like my family always leaves me out of important discussions.

"You do not need to worry about that, they do what they can to help us out. You should be grateful to your brothers. Go to sleep now Y/N. Do not worry, everything will work out just fine."

Today I needed to get up a bit earlier because of the meeting I had with Leeteuk. I put on a red blouse with black pants.

Today I took the bus. I had not seen any of my brothers in the last few days, which made me upset, but I tried to focus on the meeting instead. As I sat down, my phone started buzzing.

Kim Jisoo: Hey, just texting you to ask you how you are doing?

Y/N: Hello, I forgot to tell you, but I got the job. I am actually on my way to a meeting now, where I need to sign some documents.

Kim Jisoo: Congratulations! I knew you did well.

Y/N: Thank you so much!

Kim Jisoo: We should go out for a cup of coffee and catch up one day.

Y/N: Of course, I will look forward to it.

I listened to music the rest of the bus ride.

As the bus stopped about two hundred meters from the SM building, I stood up and went out of the bus. It was a bit windy outside, but the sun was still shining.

As soon as I reached the building, I walked up to the door. I was a bit nervous even if I had nothing to be nervous about. This really was an important job, and it was so many girls that went for the interview, so I better make up for that they actually picked me. I took a quick glance at the reflection of me in the big glass door before I went inside. 

It was not as many people inside today as it was the last time I was there, but it was still a lot of people. I took an overview over all of the people who were there, and I tried to find Leeteuk in the crowd. Suddenly I saw him standing in front of a door in the right corner of the room. He waved at me and smiled, and I walked over to him.

"Hello Y/N, it is nice to see you."

"Hello Leeteuk, nice to see you too." I said with a bright smile on my face.

The meeting went well, I signed all the documents, and then I went home to pack all I needed and more.
