A couple days have passed, and you and Drift were closer than ever. You haven't told anyone about your relationship yet, since you and Drift wanted to get used to it first.

You both would sneak in kisses and hold hands when the others weren't looking. There were a few times you were almost caught, but you managed to keep it a secret.

John and Carbide were perfecting the device that would send you and Drift home, and it was almost complete. You were excited.

You and Drift were hanging out in his room, watching a movie on his television. It was your favorite movie. You and Drift were laying on the bed, his arms around your waist, his chin resting on your head. You felt nice and warm, and the beat of his heart against your back was very soothing.

You were perfectly content, when the door opened.

"(y/n), I was wondering if-" Teknique started, before stopping completely when she saw you and Drift. "Oh my god." She was smiling like an idiot.

"Teknique, I can explain," you said quickly, though you didn't move from your spot.

"Please do," Teknique said, excited.

"Drift and I are dating now," you replied. "Please don't tell anyone on the team. Even Abstrakt. We want to keep it a secret for now."

"I don't really understand why since you're a cute couple, but I promise my lips are sealed until you decide to tell the team," Teknique replied.

"Thank you," you said.

"Can we watch our movie?" Drift whined.

"Sorry, I'll leave," Teknique said. "I'll just ask Abstrakt to come with me to Lazy Links instead." You nodded, and she left.

"I want you to myself," Drift said quietly. "Can everyone else, like, leave?" You giggled.

"Don't worry, I'll be here for a long time," you assured.

----

Too quickly, the movie was over. It was time for you to check up on the project, and you went downstairs, much to the disappointment of Drift. In fact, you literally had to wrestle your way out of his arms because he was so stubborn.

"Mr. Wick?" you called.

"Over here," John replied. He was inside a different room downstairs. You walked into the room and your jaw dropped as you saw a rift, right in the basement in the mansion you called home. "It's complete, and tonight you and Drift can return home."

"Oh my goodness," you said in awe. Your heart pounded and you felt excited. "This is amazing, thank you so much!" John gave you a kind smile.

"Y'know, I really started liking having you and Drift around," John said. "Make sure you both visit and help the team every once in awhile."

"I promise," you replied. "I love this place. I couldn't exactly leave forever."

"That's good to hear," John said. It felt strange talking to him without him being commanding, but it felt nice. "Now, go and tell Drift the news." You nodded and walked back to Drift's room. You noticed the house was particularly busier than usual, with members of the team walking around and glancing at you knowingly.

"Drift?" you said as you walked into the room. You blushed as you noticed Drift's shirt was off, as he was changing.

"Like what you see?" Drift teased.

"S-Shut up!" you blushed profusely. Drift slipped on his shirt and you were disappointed. He noticed your disappointment.

"Don't worry, you'll see me shirtless plenty more times," Drift assured.

"Ah! Don't be nasty!" you snapped and Drift turned bright red.

"I didn't mean like that!" Drift exclaimed, raising his hands defensively.

"Alright," you let out a deep breath. Drift rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "Anyway, John finished the remote. He said we can go back home tonight!" Drift looked slightly bothered.

"About that," Drift started nervously. "I was thinking, what if we just stay here?"

"Why?" you asked, frowning.

"I mean, it's been over a month since we've come here, and it feels like home here," Drift explained.

"But what about our friends and family back on the other world?" you questioned, confused as to why he would rather stay here.

"That's great and all, but I don't want anything to come between us," Drift replied. "In our old world, people break up all the time because of other people. Here, everything is peaceful. I just want a peaceful life with you." You sighed, looking down at the ground.

"That does sound nice, but the other world is where we belong," you explained. "Our friends and family are probably devastated because of our disappearance."

"I guess you're right," Drift said. "I miss home. I think I just got caught up in some emotions for a second there."

"It's all good," you replied. "Also, we can come back here anytime we want."

"That's true," Drift admitted.

"Yo, come downstairs, it's important," Abstrakt's voice said outside of the door. You glanced at Drift and nodded. Your hands interlocked. You both had silently agreed it was time for the team to know about the relationship. As you opened the door, Abstrakt's eyes went down to your hands, and he looked slightly disappointed. He looked away quickly.

You all went downstairs and your jaw dropped as you noticed there were balloons everywhere, and a cake in the center of the room. A colorful banner hung on the ceiling and it read 'We Will Miss You'.

"What is this?" you asked happily.

"This is a sending away party," John replied, stepping forward. "We decided since we're going to send you off, we would give you a proper goodbye."

"This is so kind of you," you smiled gratefully.

"You both have been a pleasure to have on the team," Carbide said from the back of the room.

"(y/n), you became one of my closest friends, and it was cool hanging out with you," Teknique said, crossing her arms. "Maybe sometime you can come here and we can spray a few buildings." John gave Teknique a glare for mentioning spray painting.

"You weren't so bad after all," Valor said simply, refusing to look at you. You smiled anyway.

"Drift, you were the best apprentice I've ever had," John said to Drift. Drift's eyes lit up.

The party was very fun and exciting. There were games you would play, and you got to talk to the whole team. At the end, you were exhausted. But it was time to go home.

"Here you go," John said, handing you a remote. It was simple and he explained how it worked. "Come back as much as you can." You powered up the remote and made a rift appear.

"It was a great party," you said while smiling.

"Goodbye," Drift said. You both jumped through the rift.

----

"My poor Omega now rests in peace," Oblivion said quietly to herself. "I will have revenge on the two responsible. Drift and (y/n)."

"My mistress, they have returned to their home back on Earth," said a voice. It was the thing Omega had sent after you, and Oblivion was going to make sure it completed Omega's las mission.

"It's simple. We break into the base and use their extra remote to follow them," Oblivion said. "Visitor, prepare our plan. We leave immediately."

This is NOT the end of the book. I have a lot of plans for this book and it should be A LOT longer. I left too much unsolved for it to end. While you wait for the next chapter, I would appreciate if you checked my story 'My Star' out. Thank you for the read, and don't forget to vote!
