Worlds Collide: Drift x Reader Fortnite

Also sorry for not updating the last few months I've been working on school and my relationship. I'm ranked #7 out of 300 other students in my grade so it's fun :)

You tugged at the collar of your (f/c) turtle neck sweater. You were prepared for your date with Drift, but you were nervous. You had only confessed to him a week ago, and miraculously he reciprocated your feelings.

He asked you on a date, which happened to fall on Valentine's Day. You tried to look nice yet casual since Drift told you that you were going to see a movie in the local movie theater.

You were dressed in a (f/c) turtleneck sweater, jeans, and a pair of black vans.

Now, you were just waiting for Drift to come pick you up. You checked your phone every five seconds for a message, worried he was going to cancel last minute.

You paced back in forth in the living room until you heard a knock on the door. You jumped a little, startled by the noise. You walked over to the door.

Once you opened the door, you were face to face with something large and fuzzy. You stepped back quickly.

Once you got out of your momentary shock, you noticed you had been looking at a large, fluffy, light brown teddy bear. Drift stood holding the bear. In this other hand he had a bouquet of red roses.

"Drift!" you exclaimed.

"Hey, uh, I decided to bring you some presents since it's Valentine's Day and all," Drift muttered awkwardly.

"I love them so much!" you gave him your widest grin.

You took the bear out of his arms and hugged it close to you.

"You want to come inside for a moment?" you asked, stepping aside.

"Thank you," Drift said, visibly more relaxed.

He set the bouquet of roses on a nearby table. You took a moment to pick them up and smell the sweet scent of the roses.

"I'm so sorry I wasn't able to get you a gift," you replied. "I wasn't expecting for you to get me a gift."

"It's alright, just being with you is a gift," Drift assured. (Here's a true story, this exact conversation happened with my boyfriend, except I said what Drift said)

You blushed, not knowing what to say. You stumbled to find words.

"You're way too sweet," you said. "Thankfully, I made cookies the other day and I have extra to give you. Do you have time for a snack?"

"The movie isn't for another hour and a half so yeah," Drift said enthusiastically.

You walked out into the kitchen and grabbed the cookie container from the counter and brought it out to the table in your living room. You set it down and opened it.

"Take as many as you want," you said.

Drift rushed over, the light in his eyes reminding you of a child. He grabbed multiple cookies and pulled down his mask, shoving a cookie in his mouth. He looked like a chipmunk. You could barely contain your laughter.

"You look like a chipmunk," you laughed.

"Dun mayke fun," Drift complained, his mouth full.

"Fine, but it was too funny to resist," you replied.

Drift finished off his cookies fairly fast, and shoved a couple into his pocket for later, which you rolled your eyes at.

"You ready to go?" Drift asked.

"Yeah," you said shortly, starting to grow nervous once more.

You didn't want anything to mess up during this date. You want it to be perfect so you and Drift would form a relationship.

Drift opened the passenger seat for you to sit. He got in the drivers seat and started his car. Some music started to play, and you smirked as you realized cheesy romance songs were playing.

"Interesting choice of music," you remarked.

"Is it the kind women like?" Drift questioned.

"Well we like any type of music," you replied.

Drift looked a little embarrassed so you decided to tone down the teasing.

"It was a good choice, though," you said quickly. "It's Valentine's Day, which makes it fitting to play romantic music."

"Yes, since I'm smart I figured that out," Drift lied.

He puffed out his chest, looking more confident than he had moments ago.

Soon enough, you made it to the movies.

Once you got through the ticket line, he lead you to see (movie of choice). You took a seat in the back.

As the movie started playing, you focused on Drift. The way he focused on the movie was adorable. You turned back to the movie and started to feel yourself lean on Drift's shoulder. He wrapped his arm around you.

You turned to him and pecked him on the cheek. His face looked a little red from under his dust mask.

You settled in and watched the movie in this comfortable position.

Before you knew it, the movie was over. As you walked outside, Drift stopped you before you could enter the car.

"I have one more present for you before I drop you off," Drift said, sounding nervous.

You turned around, perplexed by his statement. What else could he give you?

"What is it, Drift?"

He took a step towards you, then hesitated. He looked like he was fighting some inner thoughts. He shook his head, pulled down his mask, and closed the distance between you. You were startled as his lips landed on yours, but instinctively you melted into the kiss.

The kiss wasn't anything erotic or sexual, just a long, passionate kiss from love. You remained in the kiss for a few seconds, though those seconds felt like an eternity. The whole world fell away and it was just you and Drift. Nothing else mattered.

Sadly, the moment had to end. Drift pulled away slowly, his face pink.

"I love you," you said suddenly.

"I love you too," Drift replied, a fond look in his eyes.

"Thank you for making this Valentine's Day special."

Sorry it's kinda short and rushed. I wanted to get this one shot out. It's over a thousand words at least. Hope you had a great Valentine's Day !
