Daisy's P.O.V.
It's been a week since I cut my hair and made out with Jaeden, who isn't my boyfriend.
I didn't exactly feel bad about it, after all, Jack isn't my real boyfriend.
Thought Jack wouldn't be a bad alternative if things went bad with Jaeden. Now thinking like that does make me feel bad.
Jaeden and I had agreed to meet up and my house again to rehearse the play. Conveniently, my mom was leaving again for another 3 days for more legal stuff about my father.
Jack, Chosen, and I were meeting up beforehand to talk about the plan.
I waited at my door for one of them to knock.
I hoped one of them had something on her that I could use, hopefully, to use against her. I didn't know what else to do.
No other alternative would work out to keep her completely away from Jaeden or me. I need something, I need Jaeden.
Kissing him, it felt like nothing was wrong. Like I wasn't being blackmailed. Like my past wasn't haunting me. Like I could potentially be happy. I can't lose that.
I hadn't talked to Jaeden for the past week though. He had been spending more time with his girlfriend and her friends. I guess that's what you're suppose to do when you're in a relationship.
A knock at my door brought me out of my thoughts. I quickly opened it and saw Jack, smiling back at me.
I moved so he could walk in.
"Where's your mom?" He asked, looking around. I shut the door.
"Dealing with legal stuff again. She will be gone for 3 days again." I informed him. He just nodded his head. "Look. I need to ask you something before Chosen gets here."
Jack looked confused. I led him to my room. I sat down on the bed and he followed my action.
"Ok just to be clear, I don't wanna sound like a bitch or anything, but this is fake right? This is a fake relationship." I didn't want to accidentally hurt Jack, so I tried to be cautious with my words but also get the point across.
"Um," Jack paused which made me worried, "Of course. That's apart of the plan." He added. It was awkward afterward. "Why do you ask?"
I shrugged my shoulders. "I just needed to make sure." I started to fiddle with my fingers, avoiding eye contact.
"Oh." He simply replied. I heard my door open.
"Anyone home?" Chosen yelled.
I ran down the stairs and rolled my eyes as Chosen was already in my house getting comfortable on my couch. "What's up with this?" Chosen looked at me confused. "You walk in like it's your house." He laughed.
"Have you ever heard the saying, Mi casa, tu casa?" He asked.
I rolled my eyes and said, "But you're supposed to say that about your house, not mine." Jack joined us downstairs.
"Alright time to go over the plan," Chosen said rubbing his hands together. Jack sat down next to me and Chosen on the love seat. "So bad news, I didn't really get anything solid on Ali."
Jack spoke up. "Yeah neither did I. She has a pretty solid life."
That bitch gets the life and the boy! Now that's not fair!
That's what I'm saying!
Let's take down this bitch!
"The only thing I found relatively suspicious was the fact that Steve and Ali weren't always as close as they were now," Chosen added.
"You mean fuck buddies?" Jack asked. I smiled.
"Before that Steve wasn't best friends with Ali," Chosen said completely ignoring Jack's remark. "Steve was best friends with this girl named Jessica. Steve wasn't always Mr. Popular. He was once a loser like us." I was surprised. Maybe Ali was why he was such a jerk.
"I went searching through his old Insta and found one picture of him a Jessica before she completely disappeared and Steve became popular. She just was pulled out of school and moved somewhere without question." I was confused.
"How come no one asked questions?" I asked.
"She was a loser, both of them back then. Nobody really knew her. I went to school with her for 3 years and barely remember her." Chosen finished. I was stunned. I wouldn't be surprised if Ali had something to do with this.
"I'll look into it," I told them. "I haven't really done much to help so I wanna."
Chosen shook his head. "You've already been through so much, you don't have to. Jack and I got this."
This made me mad. I'm not a helpless little girl. I can help my self.
"I can manage," I said, not wanting to be rude.

Not long after, the boys left. I didn't tell them Jaeden was coming over. I don't know if Jaeden told them.
I was on my phone. Chosen told me her name was Jessica Johnson. I just straight up google the name. A lot of things came up, sadly Jessica Johnson was a common name. Chosen said he would send me a pic of her just in case I needed it.
I scrolled through a lot of stories. A bunch not from here. They were from different states, different countries. I rolled my eyes and set my phone down, knowing this would take a while, especially if nothing big happened to her.
She could have just moved for all we knew.
The doorbell rang, I basically ran to the door.
Opening it quickly, I saw him again in what felt like ages. He was wearing a leather jacket and I swear I fell in love with him even more. Damn, he looks good.
I looked up at him and my breath hitched as always.
"Come in," I told him, moving aside so he could walk in.
"Is your mom home? I didn't see her car outside." Jaeden asked.
We stood in my living room awkwardly. "No, she isn't home. She won't be home for 3 days."
He looked confused. "Why would she leave you for 3 days?"
"Oh just stuff back at my hometown that she has to deal with. Plus I think I can handle myself for 3 days." I joked, trying to ease the awkwardness.
"Let's just get this done and over with," Jaeden said, getting the script ready.

This time going over the play wasn't the same as the last time, this time it was a bit more serious, a bit more rushed to get it over with. I didn't want to tell him how good of an actor he actually was, he read over the lines with easy and played the character accordingly like he has done it over a thousand times.
We got to the last few lines, I instantly got nervous. We knew it was time for the kiss. I couldn't tell if I wanted it or if I didn't.
I restated the lines that I knew so well now. "I-I want," looked down at the ground and then back up into his beautiful eyes. "I want you."
I felt butterflies in my stomach as Jaeden leaned closer. I wanted this. And this time I was gonna thoroughly enjoy it.
But what happened next surprised me. He back away, looking down at his feet. "I guess that's all for today." He picked up his script and waved goodbye to me.
He left me starstruck in my living room. I felt completely abandoned.
When I kissed him at the lake, I knew that I had him wrapped around my fingers, and I wrapped around his, but now I think I screwed it up.
I should have never thought that he would wait for me. I was playing too many games and he finally got sick of them, got sick of me.
Maybe a week without me and with Ali made him realize how much better he would be without me. Maybe he was finally letting me go. After all, that's what I asked him to do.
