Daisy's P.O.V.
"Don't say a word," Jack said as I walked up to him. I had to hold in my laugh. "My stupid skin is now dyed red." I grabbed his arm and examined his arm. It was completely dyed and it looked like he had some kinda disease.
"I feel really bad for you." I said, as sincere as I could.
"Yeah me too." Jack sighed and walked with me to our first class together.
Again. The same thing. A mini lesson and then he lets us out with a 5000 word paper due the next day. I'm guessing this is how the whole year is gonna go.
As I was packing up my stuff to leave with Jack the teacher called us to his desk.
"Yes?" I questioned as we got up there.
Mr. McKarthy cleared his throat. "I really like what you two did with your two point of views paper. Very interesting and well written. You both are very talented. Keep it up. You can leave now." He finished. Jack looked excited.
We walked out the door and he had a little mini-celebration dance. I laughed at him. "What was that for?" I asked him.
"Mr. McKarthy has a daughter in our grade that I have been crushing on since pre-k, but Mr. McKarthy has never noticed me, and when he does I'm getting made fun of or just being pathetic. If I get on his good side and get him to like me, maybe he will let me date her. He is super over-protective over her because her last boyfriend literally broke her." Jack finished. I raised my eyebrows in amusement.
"What's her name?" I asked, not knowing half the people in our grade.
He put on a stupid smile. I could tell this girl was important to him. "Jade. She has beautiful brown hair, shiny green eyes, and the most beautiful smile ever." I smiled at him, the way he talked about her, I wish someone would talk to me like that.
Well actually... Harry started. He and I both thought of Jaeden.
Shut it. I'm just going with what you said. He probably doesn't even like me. I argued.
"That is so cute! The way you talk about her. She must be really special."
He giggled. "Yeah, she is."
"Did you just giggle?" I pointed out.
His face went red. "Nooo! That was a manly chuckle." I laughed at his face.
"Jack and Jade sitting in a tree. K-I-S-S-I-N-G!" I sung. He punched me in the arm.
"Shut up!" His face was really red.
"You know you liked the thought of being alone with her... in a tree... kissing," I said slowly to soak in the words. He had a dreamy look of his face as we walked to our spot. I just let him be. I could think about someone too.

"Hey. We were thinking about going to the arcade after school? You guys in?" Wyatt asked. Jack nodded his head.
"You have an arcade here?" I questioned in disbelief.
"Yeah. Have you been?" Finn asked.
"Um, I used to go with my dad all the time." I could feel my heart race at the thought of him before... everything.
"You have a dad?" Chosen asked.
"Well duh. You need a boy and a girl to make a baby. Don't tell me I need to explain sex ed again?" Jack said. I laughed.
"No, just your mom came by my house to introduce herself and my mom and her were talking and she said she came here with you only." Chosen looked confused.
"Well, we used to be close, and then stuff... happened." I stopped not really wanting to talk about it.
Everybody nodded their head. "Well, now you will go there all the time with us," Jaeden reassured me. I gave him a thankful smile. We stared at each other for a while, as usual. We tended to do that a lot.
Does that mean...
No. It doesn't mean anything. Nothing at all. Harry set me straight again.
I looked down at my lap, no longer smiling, no longer looking at him.
I took a deep breath looking back up and trying to engage in the conversation. They were talking about how there were new games at the arcade or something. But I felt his gaze on me and all of a sudden I couldn't concentrate on anything except for the feeling that he was watching me. I took another deep breath, trying to calm down.
I looked up and he wasn't looking at me. Maybe it was my imagination.
