Daisy's P.O.V.
Everyone but Chosen and Jack had left my house. Jaeden's parents were pissed.
I sat on the couch, exhausted from everything that has happened. And it all happened so fast, I didn't have time to grasp the dangers of our situation. Not only this but my arms and legs were sore from carrying Jaeden all that way. They were already so weak as it is.
Jack and Chosen sat down beside me, the couch caving in some more. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes for a second.
"Well, that was dramatic," Jack said. I gave out a little laugh and nodded my head.
"I knew Steve was a cruel person, but damn I didn't think he would go ballistic just to get her back," Chosen added.
"I don't think that was just to get her back." I ran my hand through my hair to push it back. "Actually, I know that's not why."
They both looked at me confused. I took another deep breath. "Steve and I talked today. I kinda tricked him into thinking I was gonna have sex with him, but it was just so I could get him alone."
The boys nodded their heads. A sign that they were listening.
"He told me a lot actually. I didn't get much specifics because he thought I already knew what happened."
"What do you mean?" Jack asked, sitting up.
"I told him since Jessica moved close to where I used to live, that I knew her. That I knew what happened. He told me he never meant for it to happen. That he was in love with Ali, not knowing that Jessica was in love with him. I don't know an exact date about when this happened, but Ali went to talk to Jessica one night and something happened. I didn't get any specifics on that either, but he went on to say how sorry he was," I scoffed, "he even cried in my shoulder."
The chills went up my back just thinking about it.
"Ali told her something that made her do something really bad. Enough to make that cold-hearted bitch Steve cry at the thought of it." I took another deep breath.
"So do you think its enough? Enough to get her to leave Jaeden alone?" Jack asked.
I shook my head no. "We don't have any proof. We don't have anything but a lead." I said in despair.
"Well, then how are we gonna get proof?" Jack asked. I looked at both the boys and stood up.
I walked to the window to see if my mom was home, but I guess she was still at work since the driveway was vacant.
I turned around to look at them. "The next time my mom goes back to Colorado for legal shit, I'm going with her."
Jack stood up frantically. "Why?" He asked.
"Why do you think? To find Jessica. To find out what the hell happened to her. And," I rubbed my arms, cold, "to tell her about Steve. How sorry he is. I can't not tell her that. That would be cruel."
Jack rolled his eyes and Chosen groaned. "What do we owe him?" Chosen asked. "All he has ever done to us is make us his very own human punching bags."
I rolled my eyes. "Yeah, but he made a huge mistake, actually a lot of mistakes. And it may not seem like it, but he deserves this one thing. He had obviously been through some tough shit and maybe that's why he is such a dick to everyone."
"So have you, Daisy," Jack spoke up. "And we don't see you going around being a dick to everyone."
"People deal with trauma in different ways, maybe that's how he does. He is probably angry and letting it out in a not so constructive way." I countered.
"Whatever you want to do Daisy," Chosen concluded. "After all your the one who is going to be talking to her, not us."
"How are you even gonna find her?" Jack questioned.
I shrugged. "I will figure it out. I will probably ask Steve more or something." I answered. "Plus if I go I have a chance to see some of my family and old friends again."
Chosen smiled and nodded. "Alright then. I support your decision."
"But how will you even get her to talk? Who says she even wants to talk? What if she doesn't talk because she doesn't know you?" Jack pushed. I rolled my eyes.
"I don't know Jack, but I will figure it out. Don't worry. It doesn't hurt to try. I've got this."
