I woke up by myself, my legs hurting and I ran to the bathroom, and threw up. As the rigid taste and texture of puke went through my throat, I felt weak and my neck’s burning up. I grabbed a glass of water. I hate being pregnant, I cannot perform my best and end up throwing up all over the place. It’s awful.
I walked outside in our living area, and I saw Ilignma, wearing her bright green dress, and she looks awful in her overly made-up face.
“Honey, today is the day!” she squealed, looking excited.
I just faked a smile. How can she be insensitive? Oh wait, she’s from the Capitol.
Then Grifly came in awhile before dawn. He’s dressed in a sleek black suit. He led me to the roof, and boarded me to the hovercraft. The hovercraft’s packed with 12 kids, and I see no sign of Blaron in here. Some woman came up to me.
“Please give me your arm, I’ll put your tracker that will also indicate your heart rate.” She said.
“Will it hurt?” I asked, stupidly. She gave me a look and I backed off, gave my arm. She inserted the needle, and all I could do is wince. I can’t shout, obviously. Being in a den full of kids who will probably murder me, shouting with just a needle prick isn’t going to help in my case.
The hovercraft gently lowers me into a place, right below the arena. There, Grifly stood, eyes fixated on me.
“They served a heaping amount of your favorite, bacon and eggs. And here’s a cup of water.” He sighed. I ate everything I saw. Who knows when I will be able to eat bacon again?
After eating, he dressed me up in a comfortable shirt with ‘5’ in its sleeves. It has a jacket and some perfect boots, and I walked around to feel anything. All was laid out perfectly.
Grifly gave me the ring Marvel gave me, which I probably left at the room I was staying.
He arranged my hair into two buns in my head, kinda like fox ears.
“You know, Emilia, even though it has only been a week knowing you, thank you anyway. You’ve enlightened me, and I know the whole prep team did.” He kissed me in the forehead and hugged me. Tears escaped his eyes as it also did on me. I can’t believe Grifly can feel for me. We held each other for a long time, as a pleasant female voice said it is time to go.
I stepped in my own metal plate, and Grifly was smiling at me, and reminded me to stay strong.
“I’ll always be there for you Emilia! You know it!” He shouted as I was being pushed up by my metal plate. As I was running up, The heat was getting hotter, I can feel it, I smell trees, and as the sun flecked up my eyes, there goes the arena. A forest, a wheat field, and a lake. The cornucopia, ever so tempting, stood in the middle. Marvel to my far right. He’s looking at me, aiming at the forest. Blaron in front of me, I see him eyeing the cornucopia. Before I stop him, the legendary voice of Claudius Templesmith boomed in my ears.
“Ladies and Gentlemen, let the seventy-fourth annual Hunger Games begin!”
