Slowly Marinette lead the pair of them back to toy shop. The sun hazy through the early morning mist covering the London streets. Oil lamps gracefully being put out by some humans. Water sat on the roads like a glass mirror, a cold chill consumed the air. London was now slowly stirring awake to another day.

The three mice continued their way down the streets of London. Marinette's mind was so lost in thought she was starting to panic. Basil easily noticed Marinette was tense and clearly in some sort of distress. Gently he wrapped an arm around her shoulder, pulling Marinette into his side. Her eyes averted up to look at Basil, a light blush spreading over her cheeks.

"You seems rather tense Miss Flaversham, is everything alright?" Asked Basil as an expression of concern covered his face, sympathy clouded his eyes.

"Think... you can't tell him why you're so tense..." Thought Marinette as her mind started to work like a machine, trying come up with another reason why she could be tense.

"I'm just worried about my father" Replied Marinette as he glanced towards the ground, it wasn't a lie just not the real reason she was so tense.

"We'll get your father back... don't worry" Said Basil as he pulled Marinette closer to his side, a light blush powdering his face.

"Thank you" Whispered Marinette as she rested her head against his shoulder, feeling safe in the light embrace.

"What the hell is happening to make me feel this way towards him?" Thought Marinette as she glanced up at Basil, the early morning sun glistening off his eyes.

"There must be a reason why I feel the way about this girl?" Thought Basil as he glanced down at Marinette, her skin radiant in the early morning sun.

Dawson was glancing at the pair of them. A small smile plastered on his lips.

"The two of them really have no idea they have feelings for each other" Thought Dawson as he gazed at the pair of them, knowing full well that had strong feelings for one another.

The three of them continued their way to the toy shop. Once they were just outside Marinette could feel her heart breaking inside her chest. Tears were threatening to spill from her bright eyes. The toy shop was in ruins, destroyed into little more then rubble.

"Well... this is... the place" Stuttered Marinette trying to hold back the tears forming in her eyes, remaining strong on the inside.

"I don't have a key for the door... I climbed out the window last night" Continued Marinette as she carefully made her way to the broken window, her mind slowly consumed with all different thoughts.

"Poor girl must have had a rough ordeal last night" Thought Basil as he walked over with Dawson to the broken window, cautiously climbing through it and into the shop.

"You're welcome to have a look around while I got fetch some different clothes" Said Marinette as she gestured to the shop around her, slowly started walking up the stairs.

Basil and Dawson had a look around at the destroyed work area. Wandering around trying to piece together what might have happened the previous night. Slowly Basil walked over towards a calendar pinned on the wall, ink splattered over some of it. Eyes scanning over some of the writing written on it.

"Marinette's 21st Birthday"

Dawson was looking at some of the shattered photo frames. Pictures of Hiram and Marinette showed through the spider webbed glass. What Dawson noticed was there was none of Marinette's mother. Slowly he turned to look over at Basil, wondering if he should mention about it.

"Basil..." Said Dawson as he looked back towards the photos on the wall, now starting to wonder what happened to Marinette's mother.

Basil hummed in response as he straightened his back, glancing over his shoulder towards Dawson. Slowly Basil walked over towards Dawson, both hands behind his back. He followed Dawson's gaze and looked over the photos on the wall. Almost instantly noticing the same thing Dawson did.

"Poor girl... doesn't even have a mother" Said Dawson as he blew his nose slightly, feeling awful for Marinette.

"It's sad really... today is her birthday as well and she's dealing with all this" Replied Basil as he looked at the photos lifelessly, he could now see a different side to her.

"You have strong feelings for her... don't you?" Asked Dawson as he looked up at Basil, hoping to get some answers to questions he had.

"Is it obvious Doctor?" Asked Basil as he continued to stare blankly at the photos in front of him, his mind becoming slightly awful for Marinette.

"To me yes... but you two are oblivious... I see the way you look at each other... she has the same feeling for you" Replied Dawson as he placed a hand on Basil's shoulder giving him a small smile.

What the pair of them didn't realise was that Marinette was hiding against the wall just after the stairs. Listening to each word being said. She was just staring at the ground, tears were forming at the edge of her eyes. Marinette remained strong and came out from around the wall. Slowly Basil and Dawson looked over their shoulders towards Marinette. Basil's eyes went wide with amazement as he looked discreetly looked up and down at Marinette.

A pair of black platform boots which reached up to her knee, a silk black ribbon laced through the holes. The gun holders still strapped firmly onto the side of her legs. A black dress which flared out from the waist, strapless and made out of leather. Black leather gloves wrist high without any knuckles were gripped onto her hands. Placed on her face was a light weighted metal mask, shimmering in the light of the sun. Only covering up her eyes, making them glow in the light. On top of her head was a top hat attached to a headband, on a slight slant on the side of her head.

"Here I've got some disguises" Said Marinette as she handed two different disguise to Basil and Dawson, trying not to seemed panicked revealing the other side to her.

"That girl is a complete mystery to me" Thought Basil as he took the disguise from Marinette's hand, now scanning over the items in his hands.

"I hope he hasn't worked out who I am... or it could be the end of everything for me" Thought Marinette as she managed to contain her fear and anxiety, managing to pull of a small smile.
