C H A P T E R : 5

You find yourself staring his back.
He looked so damn fit and fine despite the weariness his kid must be causing him while she sleeps soundly, resting her head on his shoulder.

Reluctantly, he had bought you at his house, no matter how hard you had tried to convince him that you'll go back home on your own but he insisted on dropping you after handing areum to his mom so that she's not disturbed from sleep. Also, she might as well wake up for food or maybe her diaper (which thankfully was changed by you in the park's restroom) and so he thought it was best to hand her to his mom and consequently drop you back home.

Although you knew he wasn't doing it because he might be feeling something for you but because he was a gentleman at heart and as much as you felt bad about not being attractive in his eyes, you were glad he was at least showcasing such manly moves to not leave you alone at night to walk back home.

The door clicks open and you find Mrs jeon in her casual clothing, looking graceful as ever.. she quietly picks areum from jungkook's arms and smiles at the two of you before carefully heading inside her room to let the baby princess sleep in there.

"So uh.. I should get going.." you say, placing your hands on your hips, breaking the silence.
He looks you in the eyes for the first time after sitting in an awkward silence on the couch ever since you entered his house.

He nods weakly and begins getting up. He sprints outside without even acknowledging you which made you feel a bit uncomfortable. Well it's your fault you thought you two were becoming friendly after visiting the park together!

You slowly walk outside and find him already sitting in the car. It was hell lot of weird. Would it even look nice to randomly open the door and sit on the passenger seat beside him.. maybe he doesn't actually want to drop you and is only doing it out of courtesy.
He must be tired, all he must be thinking about is nothing but resting, but here he is acting all gentleman like just because he doesn't want to make you feel bad.

You put up a smile and walk over to his side of the door, tapping it faintly to grab his attention.

He lowers down the mirror and looks at you questioningly, "what's wrong?" He asks in a low voice. Indeed he was exhausted.

You press your lips together, boring your eyes into his, "uh.. well the thing is.. I want to walk myself back home" you demand

"No! Get inside the car, I'll dro-"

"It's not that far away.. besides my mom would kill me if she sees me disturbing you at this hour. She doesn't likes it when I clinge on people" You lie. Of course your mom didn't have any sort of problems with you, she in fact trusted you more than she trusted herself.

Jungkook gulps and tends to find a reply to his avail.

"It's okay!" You laugh, "don't worry I'm used to of walking alone.." another lie. Your mom never allowed you walk on streets this late at night for safety reasons, given the kind of news which came on newspaper every other day. So even if you did go out on late night parties or whatever it was with seokjin mostly..

With that, you start walking away, not even caring how he had swung open his door and was calling out your name. You head your way out of the house.
It felt a bit uneasy but at the same time you were glad you weren't acting like a burden to him..

Mrs jeon walks out the room with a yawn and sees her son dropping the keys in the bowl.

"Did you drop her?" She asks to which he shakes his head with his lips pressed together, as though in guilt.

"What?" She half yells, "you let her walk alone?"

"She won't allow me to and so I just called jisoo, she was coming back home and was around the corner. So I asked her to check on y/n on her way.."

"Oh my.." Mrs jeon frowns

"Don't worry, she texted me saying she's with her now.." he says heading upstairs but Mrs jeon stops him.

"Uh.. kook-ah there's something important I need to talk to you about.."

"Uh okaaayyy... I can explain!" Jisoo exclaims as you give her a look and dart your eyes towards the guy standing on your porch.

"Well he's like working- no yeah..wait" jisoo stutters as she looks at him," umm.. your working there right?" She confirms to which the guy nods and smiles at you.

You on the other hand roll your tongue over your lips and nod understandingly, "alright alright I got it. Seokjin.." you look at him and then back at jisoo, "is your coworker and you guys decided to hang around the very first day you two meet!"

"Well I know him since a while because of oppa and well uh.. you" she states with hesitation.

You roll your eyes. Wait. You weren't supposed to do that.
Were you jealous of seeing your friend with your ex!?

You did decide on not caring about whatever he does after the breakup but why were you feeling insecure?

Pouting, you look at the duo and pass a bright smile, "I'm sorry I overacted.."

Seokjin giggles, "no problem, it happens when you're uh jealous?" He speaks rather quickly making your blood boil at the way he way smirking at you and knowing how you were feeling deep inside to see him hanging around with your friend!

Surely it wasn't just you who was acting bitchy. You had turned yourself off for him but he's no less, he is surely trying to get back to you for what you did and maybe, just maybe he is succeeding.
