C H A P T E R: 6

It was beyond baffling when you found yourself sitting in the same dining room area where you had last talked to Mrs jeon, who had proposed you to go with jungkook and his daughter to the park, which you recall was definitely a month or maybe 2 ago..

The whole seokjin thing had gotten you to get yourself a bit detached from jisoo as well.

Not that you hate her for talking- or perhaps dating him for that matter, no, but you just do not want to intrude nor are you game for any kiddish games regarding 'revenge' (if that's what your ex is after, that is..) and hence being in denial was one thing you sticked around for merely these two months until Mrs Jeon called your mom last night asking her to make a visit for lunch at their house and weirdly Mrs Jeon was quite enthusiastic about you as she pleaded your mother to fetch you along as well and that brings you back to the same house, same people, same everything except Mrs Jeon and Jisoo seemed way happier yet hesitant for some peculiar reason and jungkook on the other hand was not talking, nothing unusual though but, this time he seemed pretty upset which obviously was making you brood over his said silence.

"Please have some more, y/n.. you seem to have lost your appetite!" Jisoo exclaims as she politely serves some more food in your plate.

She has now been working in the not-so-new company for about two months along with Jin.
The night you came in terms with the fact that the two were colleagues was the same night jisoo had called you and told you that she may have some feelings for jin.

Nothing surprising actually as you suspected this long ago because during the time you and Jin were together she'd always blush and act all cute around him.

Well she comes to Seoul frequently to meet jungkook every Saturday and Sunday so that's how she also came to get acquainted with Jin the time either jungkook would hang out with him or well you'd hang out with Jin tagging jisoo along whenever she was in town.

After finishing off the food and showing your gratitude to the eldest you begin picking the dirty plates in order to stack them into the sink and despite a series of protests from Mrs jeon and your friend, you still walk over to the kitchen to put them for a wash.

"Your daughter is really precious.." Mrs Jeon implies to your mom as she begins walking back to the dining room.
Your mom giggles and watches over to the kitchen while taking a sip from the glass placed in front of her.

Mrs Jeon clears her throat and looks at jungkook. He was basically all lost, or so you assumed as you look at him as well on your way back to the dining table.
He wasn't even making an eye contact which only made your heart race in anxiety. What is wrong with him?

"Kook-ah.." His mother chimes making the boy drive his full attention on her.., "go check if areum is awake yet.."

Jungkook nods obediently, he looks at you for the first time and you were pretty much certain that he didn't mean to look at you but did so unconsciously.

Getting up from the chair soundlessly he sprints upstairs where his room was..

After making sure the boy left, Mrs jeon again clears her throat for the second time. Yup well you were nothing more than you should since everything seemed so etched in today's atmosphere.. It was this feeling that was stirring inside you claiming that something surely is going to happen.

You see jisoo walking inside the kitchen to wash the dishes. It felt more like an excuse to give her mother access to whatever she was about to say.

"Is something wrong hayoon-ah?" Your mom asks pressing her hands on top of Mrs jeons hands which were rested upon the table top.

Mrs jeon sighs deeply before talking, "I uh.. I want your daughter to marry my son" she states confidently yet with a clear mark of guilt and a spark of hesitation in her speech.

At first it almost appeared inaudible to your ears until you registered her words thoroughly and reacted in a way any person would in a situation akin to this..

Your mother blinks rapidly realizing what the old lady said. For a while your mom had hard time getting the correct words for responding and so she blurts out all 'what' 'whys' and where's' until Mrs Jeon calms her down.

"Please listen to me first.." she pleads before you could begin protesting.

She tilts her head to get assurance from jisoo who was now standing still inside the open kitchen. You could see her lips pressed into a thin line as though out of nervousness.

You look back at Mrs Jeon, who gulps before beginning, "My son is having a really hard time. Seeing him dwelling upon the never ending road to sadness makes me and jisoo devastated.." she gulps again and this time it was pretty obvious that she was trying to sooth her already heavy throat, "he's changed y/n-ah!" She cries, "I know it's too selfish of me to propose something of the kind to you but it's only because I'm a mother and I can't let my poor child suffer like this. You've seen him suffering and juggling to take care of his toddler" she chuckles despite the evident sorrow, "he says he's got it all when the silly boy can't even change her diapers properly!" "It was an ill fate of my son that made him loose his beloved wife but.. but I can't let him get fixated at that spot. I want him to move on.."

"Please help me get my son back, y/n.. I beg you!" She joins her hands together making you respond to it by immediately cupping your hands around hers.

"Don't say that.." you finally chirp.

Well that was the only thing which left your mouth since you were shocked at the proposal she made to you.
Your mother on the other hand had buried her head in her palms, not understanding what to say.

"Y/n please help us.." she pleads, "if there's anyone I see potential in then it's you. You are the one I can trust on this and no one else.." she cries..

You frown, crossing your brows together as you couldn't really see the sight of an old lady crying for help in front of you..

Sighing and rubbing your temples you stare at her worrisome face, "I need some time to think" you announce..
