"What?" I was stunned, confused. I was looking at Harry through wide eyes as he laughed at me.

"We're both apart of that 1%."

"We are?"

"We are, you dweeb." He joked and his thumb traced patterns onto my hand.

"Are we?" I asked Mindy who was still in shock, she nodded slowly. She didn't even make eye contact as she stared at the floor.

"It's rare. None of the cases ever been administered to the 1 percent have had both parties be apart of it. You guys are the first I've heard of." She finally looked over at us as if she had just discovered gold.

"So what exactly does that mean for us?" Harry interjected, putting his arm around me when I scooted closer to him. He naturally pressed a kiss to my temple as we both stared at her.

"It means." She sighed in happiness as she broke into a grin.

"It means that you two are literal and actual soulmates. Depending on the connection that you guys have built you can feel if the other is in trouble. Some cases have described the 1% to have deep emotional attachment to another to the point if the other is hurt bruises form over the spot they hurt themselves." I looked at Harry who moved his free hand over both of my hands that were on my crossed legs.

"But what exactly does that mean in terms of our relationship?"

"There are dangers to it, if you're asking. You, Leslie, have told me of the medicine you have. Depression, anxiety, etc. Those aren't real when it comes to you guys. You don't feel emotions like normal, functioning, human beings. You guys don't simply feel sad. You simply don't feel annoyed. You feel the full effects of the emotion. Sadness will look like depression. You are prone to feeling a great deal of emotion. Most people only feel like their feet in the water of the emotion while you two are completely submerged in it." She sat up in her seat as she explained to us.

"So, jealousy is a huge factor. It turns to rage and anger. It doesn't help any party involved. The fact that you two have found eachother, so young too might I add, is a huge deal. You guys are fixing eachother. Have you let him read your journals?"

"Yes." Harry said and she widened her eyes.

"Have you let her meet your family?"

"No, not yet. I'm waiting until my sister gets back into town so we can all sit down and give the entire family a chance to meet eachother." He explained and I looked up at him, he stared down at me with a soft smile.

"Understand this clearly, you too. You are both extraordinary human beings. You only fall in love once in your life. If it is true what you both feel understand that there are psychological withdrawals if you were to ever separate. I'm talking mass destruction of each other. You literally have the love in the fairy tales." She said and we both nodded, continuing to ask our own questions about the nature of our relationship.

"Well, that was fun." Harry joked as we signed out. His hand was around my waist as we walked out.

"Definitely beats Disneyland." I joked, leaning into his side. "Absolutely not. Disney is an icon." "I prefer Knotts." I shrugged.

"I have no idea what that is baby."

"Disney is Mickey Mouse's house. Knotts is where snoopy lives. It's his house." "Goddamn you're fucking cute." Harry stopped me once we got to his car, picking me up to the point where my legs wrapped around his waist and pressed a kiss on my lips.

"What did I do?" I asked and he just gave me a sideways smirk. "You're just cute. Let's go." He smacked my ass as he set me down. He opened my door for me before getting in on his side.

"We're 1% baby." He kissed my hands and I smiled. God, this idiot was my other half, literally. I rendered myself vulnerable by getting attached. We were the lucky ones. We were the 1% and it made me happy. He made me happy.

"Where'd you guys go?" My mom asked as we walked into the kitchen. She was on the stool drinking coffee while reading her magazine. Harry's arms wrapped around my waist as he pressed a kiss to my neck.

"She went to therapy. Mindy wanted to meet Harry." Marissa said coming in, sitting on Josh's lap next to my mom who looked confused.

"Why would she want to meet Harry?"

"Apparently, we're soulmates. It's like a big deal because less than 1% of the human population has ever had this condition. Essentially, speaking her words not ours, we feel emotions more than other people do. When we get sad we don't get just a little sad like normal people do. It's depression. We don't get irritated, we rage. We don't just get a little happy, we get completely enveloped in the emotion. She described emotions like a pool, most people just dip their feet in it where we, the 1%, are completely submerged in it." Harry explained and my mom choked on her coffee.

"Big deal, you're emotional. I don't see how that makes you soulmates." Josh said and I my mom continued to struggle for words.

"You're the apex." She said, finally being able to talk.

"What?" I asked and she let out a shaky breath as she began laughing softly.

"That's what that 1% thing is. Apex. Top. Less than one percent have it. It's like .001% of the population. They narrowed it to just 1% because it's easier. I suspected you loved eachother but not to this extent." My mom said and Josh looked confused.

"What the hell does that even mean?"

"It means literally, their bodies function as one. It's like being addicted to eachother. Not like normal people fall in love. You love Marissa but that's just a small percentage of what your sister feels for Harry and vice versa. Their bodies, if they break up, go through withdrawal. Essentially they could literally die of a heartbreak." My mom was in tears when she stood up, hugging both me and Harry.

"What do you mean die?" Josh asked and I was confused.

"The heart has muscles that under extreme stress break. Since they feel emotions more than we do they can die from it. The body would attack itself. The stress would be too much and the entire muscle would not be able to support itself. I've only seen it happen once to an elderly couple, she was an apex, he wasn't. He passed and minutes after he passed her heart literally broke. The muscles broke so fast we couldn't save her. Harry, do not break her heart. I will fucking murder you. God I cannot stress that. Do not dare fucking take my little girl from me. Please. I wouldn't be able to take it." My mom begged Harry as she sobbed, he looked at her sadly.

"I wouldn't dare."

"Promise me." She sniffled as he pulled her into a hug.

"I swear it."
