Deputy Jordan Parrish the nameplate said on the police station desk. Lydia smirked at the name and turned her eyes to the man behind the counter.

"Lydia," The tall honey haired man smiled.

"Parrish, how are you?" Lydia asked. They all called him by his last name, it was like his nickname.

"I'm good, are you here for the Sherriff?" Parrish knew Lydia and the Sherriff's son were friends.

"Umm, I actually was, but maybe you can help me," She lied, flashing a flirty smile.

"I can surely try," Parrish set down the file he'd been going through, giving Lydia one hundred percent of his attention.

"Stiles is...driving me crazy. See he likes this guy, but he doesn't think the guy notices him. He's dropped subtle hints here and there, but the guy still hasn't made a move. What should he do?" Lydia bit her lip.

"Uh..well..." Parrish looked thoughtful.

"Like say, Hypothetically, you were into me, and I was Hypothetically oblivious, what would you do...Hypothetically?" Lydia flashed another flirty but innocent smile his way.

"Oh, well, I guess I would just Hypothetically ask you out and hope for the best," Parrish shrugged with a smirk.

Lydia huffed in disappointment, "I was worried you'd say that."

"Why doesn't Stiles just ask him out?" Parrish frowned at the red head.

"He thinks that it might be inappropriate," Lydia lied again.

"Why would it be inappropriate, I think guys can ask guys out, no matter who they are, or girls can ask girls out, who supposed to make the move there you know? And who decided guys had to be the one to ask the girl? If a girl likes a guy tell him. Everything is always so much easier when you them, don't you agree?" Parrish smiled at Lydia.

"You're so right," Lydia gave a small forced smile, "Thanks."

"Oh one more thing," Parrish spoke up causing Lydia to pause.

"If I were Hypothetically asking you out? What would you say? Hypothetically."

Lydia fought to hold back a smile. "I'd say...pick me up at seven. You know Hypothetically," Lydia gave Parrish a wink before walking out leaving Parrish grinning widely behind her.

Lydia's heart leapt into her throat at the sound of her doorbell. It was seven, he was here. She quickly made her way to the door and opened it to reveal Parrish standing on her steps.

"Parrish," Lydia smiled.

Parrish held out a single rose, "You look beautiful, Lydia."

Lydia blushed taking the flower.

"Shall we go?" Parrish held out his arm for Lydia to take.

He took her to an outdoor restaurant in downtown. It was beautiful.

"So I have to ask, how did Stiles fare with the guy he was into?" Parrish smirked at Lydia.

"The guy finally asked him out," Lydia laughed gently, dropping her eyes in embarrassment.

Parrish laughed as well before taking Lydia's hand in his, "I would have asked you sooner, but I was sure you weren't interested. I dismissed your hints as harmless flirting, us cops get it a lot," Parrish explained.

"I guess that makes sense," Lydia shrugged.

"Where you were really looking for Sherriff Stilinski earlier?" Parrish frowned then.

"Not at all, honestly I just wanted an excuse to see you," Lydia shrugged innocently.

"You never need an excuse," Parrish gave Lydia's hand a gentle squeeze.

"Well don't tell me that, I'll be at the station all the time," Lydia teased.

"I'd never get any work done," Parrish teased back.

Lydia was glad Stiles had given her the 'horrible advice, Stiles, this will never work'. She never expected to end up on a nice romantic date with the sweetest and cutest deputy in town. She would owe him one for sure.
