Dean slipped out of the hotel room before quickly putting the phone to his ear.

"Sorry, man, what's up?" Dean asked glancing at the door to make sure he wasn't followed.

"Did he just take a call and leave the room?" Sam frowned, staring at the door.

Cas nodded stiffly. Dean never took calls that his brother and Cas couldn't listen in on. Who could Dean be on the phone with?

Cas peered out the hotel room window to see a soft smile on Dean's lips. Cas' stomach churned with jealousy.

He and Dean had a strained relationship, but ever since they got out of Purgatory things had been easier. Dean drunkenly admitted his feelings for the angel and Cas had been elated. Things were strange at first. Dean kissing him whenever he wanted for one. The first time it had taken Cas by surprise, so much so he'd forgotten to kiss back. The small touches were foriegn on Cas' skin.

Over the few months it got easier. Cas had always been protective of Dean, but now, now it was much stronger.

Cas stepped away from the mirror. He'd just ask Dean who it was on the phone.

When Dean walked back in he was already off the phone.

"Who was that?" Cas asked carefully.

"Jody, just checking in," Dean smiled easily.

Cas felt his eyes narrow. Dean always put Jody on speaker phone.

The second time Dean slipped out of the room to take a call, Cas got suspicious. The jealousy furled within him. It wasn't that he didn't trust Dean, but he knew Dean could do better than him, and he regretted the day he found someone better, because he knew he'd lose Dean forever and that thought didn't sit well with Cas.

"Who was that?" Cas asked trying to hide his jealousy.

"Uh, just Garth, had a hunting question," Dean answered.

Once again Cas' eyes narrowed. Garth was a walking encyclopedia of hunting knowledge, what could he have possibly needed to know?

"You 'bout ready for bed, Cas?" Dean asked slipping his arm around the angel's waist, "Night, Sammy," Dean called over his shoulder.

Cas let Dean lead him down the hall to Dean's room.

"If you didn't want to be with me any longer you would tell me right?" Cas asked suddenly.

"What?" Dean frowned over at Cas.

"You'd just break up with me, right? You wouldn't cheat on me, would you?" Cas felt stupid asking.

"Cas, you know I'd never do anything to hurt you," Dean pressed his lips to Cas' gently.

Cas nodded. Dean was right. He was loyal, to a fault at times, he'd never do anything to hurt him.

However, that didn't keep Cas from staring at Dean's unoccupied phone sitting on the kitchen table the next morning. Dean was changing out of the shirt he'd gracefully spilled coffee all over.

Cas snatched the phone and checked the call history.

His name stuck out like a sore thumb against the familiar list of friends.

Benny.

Cas wasn't sure if he was mad or hurt. He didn't know Dean still talked to the vampire they'd met in purgatory. He was honestly a bit surprised to learn they still spoke.

"Cas, you alright?" Dean asked walking back in then in a dry shirt.

Cas' brain reeled. Why would Dean keep this from him? Did he have feelings for Benny?

Memories of the Dean and Benny in purgatory hit him hard. They'd been friends. Close friends. They worked as well as Sam and Dean had, together.

"Cas?" Dean's tone was worried when the angel didn't respond.

"You lied to me," Cas said finally, his voice coming out in a gasp of disbelief.

"Huh?" Dean frowned, before looking down to see the phone in Cas' hands was his.

"Shit, Cas I can explain," Dean sighed.

"You still talk to him," Cas wanted to be mad, but he was too hurt.

"We didn't talk for a while, but then he needed my help with something," Dean responded honestly.

Cas shoved the phone into Dean's hands angrily.

"Cas, wait, I'm sorry I lied, I just never told Sam so-" Dean cut himself off, "wait, Cas, are you jealous?" Dean asked.

"Should I be?" Cas snapped.

"No, not at all, Cas, you know I love you," Dean frowned setting his phone down.

"Then why lie?" Cas was torn between hurt and angry.

"I told you, Sam doesn't know about him, he wouldn't understand. He was always in the room when you asked. We didn't talk about anything important, he's just struggling with being back topside," Dean grabbed Cas' hands in his.

"I just know how close you two got, I wouldn't be surprised if you left me for him. I know it's gonna happen eventually, you'll find someone better and leave me, but I didn't think it'd be so soon," Cas' shoulders slumped. He wasn't ready to let go of Dean.

"Cas, look at me," Dean lifted the angel's chin forcing Cas' deep blue eyes to meet his, "I could never find anyone better than you. You love me despite everything I've done. You've never left my side, even when I thought you did. I love you, Cas and no one else could ever amount to you, ever," Dean pressed his lips to Cas'.

Cas relaxed into the kiss.

"I promise from now on to tell you when he calls, okay? You can even listen to the conversation if you want," Dean offered gently.

Cas shook his head, "No, Dean, I trust you."
