Chapter 11 - Search of the Chaos Emeralds - Part 1

All of us were woken up by a 10 second earthquake. I remembered Silver telling us that all these earthquakes are because of Mephiles. "Ugh great. At least it's an alarm clock for us to get up early" Tails whined and then the screams were gone since the small strong earthquake has ended already.
"I'm telling you all! It may not just be Mephiles! There can be so many aliens underground causing this!!!" Sticks shouted and we all ignored her because of her being paranoid.
"He seems to be getting more strength and will come here soon. We need to start moving." Sonic mentioned concerning. All of us agreed and went to get ready until we got out of the shack and saw Silver and Shadow.

"About time you're here, we've been waiting alot for you." Shadow said blaming us.
"Wait what? It's like 8 in the morning, how is that late?" Sonic argued
"Tch, I've been here with Silver more than an hour ago and that's how long we've been waiting, making you all late."
"Well you tell me, it's pretty much early to me. You just happened to be all serious and decide to have less of your beauty sleep."
"I'll show you what it's like to wake up early using my fist!"
"Come and show me then!"
"Guys we are here to start looking for the Emeralds not for fighting on Shadow's terms of what he said on 2 seasons ago in this show!" They stopped their moves and glared each other after hearing Silver's explanation.

"Now, to make the search of all seven emeralds fast, we need to split in different teams. It's up to you guys, the many the faster."
"Y/N, wanna join me and Sonic? We can even search on my plane. I still have the tracking device with me to search for them!" Tails said
"Sure. So it's only you guys and me?
"Mhm!"

I don't know why but for a minute I thought I saw Amy giving a small glare at us. If she actually did, I kind of feel a little guilty since she is also in love with Sonic. I don't even know who Sonic really loves. Me or her?
"Sorry but do you mind if I join you? I don't wanna do this on my own since someone filled my place" Amy complained to Shadow.
"As long you don't intend to interfere what I will do during the search, I have no problem to accept you. But make it just you and me. I'm not comfortable in having another person with us." Amy nodded.

"All right, I guess it's just you and me Sticks." Silver mentioned
"I don't trust you."
"You still honestly think I'm an alien with psychokinesis?"
"Even though you aren't I'm still suspecting on what will you do!"
"Even after all I tried helping you on?"
"STILL! I rather be with Knuckles if he were here than be with you!"
"That echidna who will have no clue on what he would do when searching them? No offense though."
"C'mon he's not that dumb!"
"Look, suspect all you want, I promise you I won't put you in any danger, I won't even use psychokinesis on you. I'm just worried that something might happen to you when you're gone. What do you want in return?"
"Eh nothing. Just curiously and all, let's go then!"

"All of you guys are ready?" We all nodded and all teams including us went to different locations. Tails, Sonic and I went on the plane like Tails said and so we start the search.

Amy's POV

o I started going to be with Shadow because I'm not in the mood to be nice with anyone including Sticks. Just Shadow acting all cold to me if he wants to is enough for me. Most of the time, I really, really hate to admit that Sonic, who'd always been my first love can have a high possibility in falling for Y/N, not me. Sure Y/N is like a best friend to me as well and I gotta admit also that she's in fact a prettier hedgehog than me including the long dark hair/quills on her. I did enjoy being with her including shopping for the past 2 months. At least we have things we like in common. I just don't like the way Sonic is always attracted to her. I even don't want to admit that I'm jealous.

"You're mind is on that faker, isn't it?" Shadow interrupted my thoughts.
"What? No! I'm just thinking on something else!"
"Shut it. It's already written on your face even with your glare that's still there."
"Whatever!"
"Why did you choose to come with me? You realize that you had a chance to be with the badger there."
"First off, her name is Sticks, Second off as you can see, I don't want to be in the mood for her paranoid behaviour even though she's one of my best girl friends. And third off, well.. don't think of the fact that I'm using you, because honestly I'm not. But sometimes when I'm not in the mood, I don't want anyone to talk to me nor even to make me like, respond to them very well as expected. Being with you well, it helps me release most of what's building inside me since you happen to act cold in front of anyone including me."
I heard him have a small chuckle.
"So that's why you like me? Only that after I nearly killed all of you after being fooled by that buffoon's edited footage? And I might destroy the entire universe?"
"Well.. I heard some facts about you. Although you would want to shut me up once I say her name."
"As for you, I felt a little comfortable with you for some reason. So you can spill it out."
"You wanted to protect the world because of Maria right? That shows you still have some goodness inside of you despite being cold-hearted towards all of us."
"You think so?"
"Mhm, but if that's the reason, why were you planning on destroying the universe with two Eggmans on one dimension if you made that promise?"
"You seriously think I would actually do that? It was just a test for me to see how you and your team would manage taking care of that situation. I must admit, I was impressed of how you do it quickly even though I'm not thrilled with he results. Now you know that th battle we will soon have will be ten times worse than that. So train yourself and be prepared for that." I nodded
"Do really love Sonic that much?" Shadow asked.
"Yes, and I was sure that one day I will confess to him even though he doesn't show any feelings to me. But I already think that he's in love with someone else."
"You knew?"
"Obviously, whenever Y/N is there, his eyes are always on her."
"Sometime, there are moments where you need to admit and let go you know."
"I know. I just don't want to end up hoping all over again for more years to happen until I find a right guy for me." I sighed depressingly.
"Do you.. think I'm not that of a bad person?" He asked me hesitantly.
"To be honest Shadow the Hedgehog, believe me. We all have feelings in the inside and we can found out what we feel from others. So to me, you aren't much of a bad hedgehog to me after all. Mostly if you like.. I can... well... you know... stay by your side since you've always been on your own..? I-if you don't like it then I wo-" I knew Shadow would have anger if we mention about being with him, what the, I'm blushing?!? I was scared trying to finish my sentence until he interrupted me.
"Would you still be by my side even though sometimes, somehow, I would put my anger on you without you knowing I wouldn't really mean it? Would you even trust me in what I would purposely do? I can even hurt you."
"Yes"
Shadow looked at me with a surprised look from having that unexpected answer from me. I even did something more unexpected than maybe no one has never did to him before,
I held one of his hands and I closed my eyes telling him my reasons for that answer.
"I know you have been through alot. Especially the death of a loved one, it's normal that you can even permanently change your personality into a cold-hearted one. Even though I can't change that, I will still understand no matter what. If you plan on something you shouldn't have done, I will stop you even if it means risking my life Shadow. If you don't understand what I mean, it's called never giving up on a person."
He didn't say anything after ten seconds but then.
"Just like what Maria said when we first met." He showed me a small smile and I smiled back. Then another question came from him.
"Why didn't you say things like that to your faker then now you have all that courage and used it on me?"
"Oh I don't know! I just already knew that sadly, Sonic will end up with HER! She already said something like that yesterday night and I guess it's too late so say things like that to him. You can regret hearing this from me right now but... I might like you too.." I shut my eyes tight from hearing what he would say next but all I heard was,
"Thank you Amy Rose." I was surprised hearing that from him. I never heard him thanking anyone before. But I was glad. We were quiet for a moment until I realised we were in some sort of forest place where there's a long river, I suddenly heard Shadow wincing in small pain from the pulse on his palm.
