Chapter 13 - Search of the Chaos Emeralds - Part 3 Finale

We were on the plane for hours after not receiving any signs of another emerald from Tails' device. Amy contacted us that they found a red emerald and somehow fought an enemy which they will then tell us once we meet again. I was about to fall asleep when I caught something grey in my eye, it seemed big onto the sand.

"Hey Tails, try flying over there." Sonic pointed to where I was looking at. He seemed to notice where I was looking as well.

Tails obeyed and flew to the grey area. We then knew what it was when we were closer,
A cave.
Somehow, I felt my heart beating faster. No, it ain't because of Sonic this time so shut up. It felt more like anxiety is building up inside me. I rubbed my chest and took deep breaths to get a hold of myself.

"Y/N you ok?" Does this blue dude get to always notice me whatever I do? I'm thankful he's concerned about me though.

"I-I'm fine, I just don't know why I feel like something's bad gonna happen to us when we're getting closer to that cave." Sonic moved closer to me and held my hand and squeezed it tightly, but not the tightly kind where your hands turns blue due to no blood flowing.
"You forgot the fact that I'm the fastest thing alive N/N. Whenever you're in danger, I'll always appear right next to ya. You will be ok, ya know i'm easy to survive whatever's happening." Somehow his hand holding tightly to mine made my heartbeat slow down normally. I felt happy he did that. I smiled at him. In my human days, not even one person like him has ever done that to me before, nor even my mother or father.

"Landing!" Tails shouted which interrupted me and Sonic's moment.
"Let's go in! I'm sensing a signal in my device!"

We all landed and got off the plane. We all walked and enter the cave, but it was pitch and black.

"Uh Tails? An emerald can shine brightly in the dark but how are we gonna watch where we going?" Sonic questioned which I've been waiting to hear a sentence like that for so long. It's frickin dark what you expect? Nothing?!

"Don't worry, I got this." Tails suddenly pushed a button on his communicator and some parts of my clothes lightened up, having a glow. Parts on Sonic's arms brightened as well including our communicators.

"How did you get these onto us? I doubt I remembered you doing any of this to me before."
"While you were sleeping last night"
"WHAT?!"
"I didn't check or seen anything on you! I just chose whatever parts useful to be glowed on! I didn't tell you nor Sonic about this because I wanted to surprise you and I felt satisfied we finally get to walk into a dark place importantly!" Tails somehow then shut his eyes tightly and his entire body was trembling in fear.

"Woah Tails what are you- I didn't mean-"
"It's okay little bro, she didn't think that way."
"What?"
"Sorry bout that Y/N, but when it comes to people being mad at any of his inventions, he sorta couldn't stand being scolded anymore. Especially when Amy, Knuckles and Sticks use to blame him whatever happens when it comes to making his own stuff."
"Oh." I walked towards Tails and placed my hand on his shoulder.
"Sorry Tails, I'm not mad or anything about the glowings on us. You just got me a bit freaked out on how you installed these while we were asleep that's all. I actually find these awesome and useful otherwise I'd drop dead in the dark."
"Okay.." Tails calmed down and smiled at me. I was glad he turned that way.
"You're afraid of the dark N/N?" Sonic said with a small chuckle.
"Shut up."

We walked further into the cave and suddenly, the whole area lit up with flames around the walls. We could see more clear than ever.

"Great" Tails said with a sigh
"Aaw cheer up bud, I'm sure the lights on us are still useful somehow."

The ground trembled beneath our feet while we were trying hard not to lose balance.

"What the hell are you doing in MY CAVE?!" The voice scared the crap out of us when it was behind us. We turned around and saw some sort of huge monster made up of so much dark grey rocks, its eyes were glowing red and its mouth was glowing red as well every time it opens its mouth. Its height was higher than the height of the entrance we've just entered in.
