Chapter 23 - Now We Need This To End

Sonic's POV

We were already ready to leave. We all started walking without Egghead in the way since he was gone missing as well which got me a bit upset since those battles make me exciting and motivated to fight. Tails was walked by my side with the rest behind us. Y/N was meant to be with us as the predictor for the future but looks like we've gotta try harder on our own for the sake of her. I even still tried my best to stay positive for now like I've always been such as that wherever Y/N is, she probably is in a place or area where it's safer than here. Otherwise the gang will keep on saying at me that 'this isn't me at all'

I'm getting sick of that word already...

We were all almost near the Death Egg that Mephiles has taken over and I finally saw it. The only people who were with me was Tails, Amy, Sticks, Knuckles, Shadow, Silver, Rouge and some people that I barely know who can fight well and all.

This seems clear to me: Find Mephiles, see if he knows about Y/N and even if not, we take him down pronto.

My thoughts were interrupted when Sticks shouted,

"INCOMING!!"

I then saw fireballs coming toward us. Like I did before, I smirked, finally looking for some entertainment. Tails planned to follow my every move even when dangerous. Yeah I know, it's risky for him but now we should all agree to the fact that even if in any other way to be safer, we will still end up wounded in the same situation.

The rest already went to their separate ways to take cover and get ready to fight with not only fireballs, but unknown monsters and robots about to come and fight us. Amy like usual with her hammer but hits them in fantastic moves, Sticks fighting and dodging with her stick and boomerang like a ninja, Knucks with his fists like before although I doubt I even know whether he even bothered training or not, Rouge helping Shadow and Silver deal with the strongest ones with all of their strength and me? I just ran forward like usual with Tails behind my back as I hit, destroyed and cleared so many bots out of my way.

The closer I got to the Death Egg, the more I have seen how wrecked it was.. with so many smoke and ashes although yet the brick walls were changed to a definite dark black colour instead of white as if Meph wanted a change of halloween haunted decorations instead of royalty ways. The windows were open but were too dark and high to see what was inside, dark grey smoke had been out all the time as if there was a huge fire that won't ever stop burning and flaming. If Meph had kept unknown prisoners in there, I doubt to even know whether one of them are even alive or not because you definitely need fresh air almost all the time in your life. But I put those thoughts away since Meph can trick you by looks, don't judge a book by its cover they say, so things in the inside can possibly be what you don't expect much.

I've just realised somethin, Y/N used to tell me and Tails the rest of the others' futures as well. Most of them will die. I looked back watching everyone fighting, Amy, Knuckles, Sticks, Rouge, Shadow, Tails and I would have actually been dead since it's soon the main battle. Before the main battle, the gang would have actually died by now. But no, Rouge was meant to get shot in her head with a bullet, causing her death back somewhere in the forest, but she was still actually alive and fighting at the very moment. The same goes for Shadow, he should have died along back at the village but ended up staying with Silver and still fighting here.. and then the same goes for the rest..

The future is changing already. If someone including Meph were the one to take Y/N away, He was actually meant to be too late for making the future how it originally was. Y/N must have warned everyone a lot of times in her free time and not only that, even if Y/N were to be with us by now, nothing would differently change because she had already warned them in the first place, it turns out that even when missing, she still managed to save them all.. Including Tails, since he should have died in a plane crash.
