"Yours is the light by which my spirit's born: - you are my sun, my moon, and all my stars."

Legolas is silent when he lifts me in his arms. I feel nothing.

I am nothing.

How can this feeling exist?

If this is love, I don't want it!

Gimli is waiting with Arod. Legolas sits me down on the horse and climbs behind me. Wordlessly he lifts also Gimli up the horse behind him. I put my arms around Legolas his neck. The tears never stop falling.

After a time we reach Helms Deep. Legolas jumps of Arod and helps Gimli down. His hand slips around my waist and he puts me gentle on my feeth. I have to try my best to not fall on my knees again. I feel so weak. Like I am drained from energy. 'You loved him?' Legolas speaks suddenly. I nod. 'Yes and he loved me'

'Lassie' Gimli starts but Legolas silences him by putting a hand on his shoulder. 'I can see it in your eyes Eleniel. They are empty. Your fëa is already fading!' Legolas says shocked. From the corner of my eye I see Éowyn approaching. 'How few of you have returned' She says quietly. 'Lord Aragorn?' She says when she sees that he is not with us anymore. 'H-he fell' Gimli says with difficulty. Legolas looks to the ground and mumbles a prayer under his breath. 'Éowyn, do you have a chamber for Lady Eleniel? She is very weak, her fëa is leaving her'

'I only have my room' She stutters and I see her looking at me. I try to step forward but my knees give in. Luckily Legolas catches me before I hit the ground. 'Quickly' He orders Éowyn. She nods and Legolas carries. Gimli follows.

Éowyn leads us to a small room inside Helms Deep. The bed is made out of hard wood and a small fire is burning. Legolas sets me down on the edge of the bed and immediately I lay down. I close my eyes, the tears are still rolling down my cheeks.

'I can't believe it' I say with a voice that is hoarse from crying. 'Eleniel please open your eyes' Legolas orders me quietly. I do what I am told and when he looks me right into the eye, his eyes widen in shock.

'Valar No' He whispers. 'What! What is wrong?' Gimli who is standing next to him cries out. 'I never saw a fëa leaving someone of my kin this quickly'

'But what is happening to her?' Gimli asks with fear is his voice. I close my eyes again and roll into a ball. My knees are hitting my chest. My breathing quickens but I can't control it.

Pray Henig.

Naneth. Ada.

'An gell nîn, Gin iallon' I whisper. (Please, I beg of you) 'An gell nîn, bring him back to me' Silent tears fall and I feel a hand on my shoulder. When I open my eyes, it is not Legolas who I see, but Ada. 'Henig, do not weep. Have Hope'

Estel.

Again I open my eyes and this time it is Legolas who's hand lies on my shoulder. 'Posto vae Eleniel' I nod. Yes rest. I crawl beneath the blankets and close my eyes again. I hear Legolas and Gimli leaving the room and then only blackness.

A night passes but I feel so empty. As a part of me has been ripped away from my soul. But they don't let me die.

They told me I have to fulfill my destiny.

On this moment my destiny doesn't concern me. All I care about is Aragorn and why he had to die on the moment we declared our love to one another.

But they had other plans. With me and with him.

Suddenly the door flies open en Legolas stands in the doorway. 'Enough' Is all he says. He walks to the edge of the bed. 'Eleniel, you are dying in front of my eyes and I don't let that happen to you!' He says with a emotionless voice. 'An gell nîn Eleniel' (Please Eleniel) 'I know you are hurting and that the will to live is leaving you at this very moment. I know how this works, this is how we were created. Two pairs, never to be separated. And when it happens, the other can't live anymore. I see it every day when I am home. My own father is not the same he once was. And I don't want this to happen with you. An gell nîn Eleniel' He begs me.

I costs all my strength but I throw the blankets from my body. Legolas signs happily and helps me to a warm bad. There stands Éowyn and when Legolas leaves, she helps me undress and I slip into the tub. Éowyn washes me ebony hair without saying a word. When I have bathed, I get up and Éowyn hands me some clothes. 'Hannon Le' I say and she bows her head slightly with a smile on her face.

I get dresses; undergarments, a grey tunic and a tight black pants. A black corset goes around my waist and black boots. When I am finished, I walk out of my room, searching for Legolas and Gimli. I pass an open door when I hear them. 'Lassie!' Gimli happily cries out. I smile a little. 'Gimli'

'Princess' Legolas appears and bows before me. I freeze in shock. Why did he call me that! Are here others? 'Relax Eleniel' Legolas grins. 'Here' He hands me my belt with my sheathed sword. 'Hannon Le' Quickly I wrap my belt around my waist. The weight of the sword feels comfortable. 'Hungry?' Gimli speaks up.

'Yes' And so we eat. But in the end it was more me eating and they telling me everything I needed to know about what the king had decided.

'And Aragorn?' I mumble, my chest stings. Legolas bows his head. 'Sorry Lassie, we still haven't found him' Gimli answers sadly. I sign and a tears falls on the ground.

Ada, Naneth please!

But they don't answer.

At midday Legolas and Gimli announce that they are going out for a walk in Helms deep. So that means they are back in no time. I smile when I see them disappear around the corner. An Elf and a Dwarf, two kin's, but they are friends, what is unlikely.

I stare out of the window, the chair I am sitting in his hard and uncomfortable. My mind slips of too Aragorn. But I wake up from my daydreaming when I hear rumors outside. 'Where is he? Where is he? Get out of the way! I'm gonna kill him!' Gimli yells suddenly. Quickly I run outside towards the road that leads to the gate of Helms Deep. 'You are the luckiest, the canniest and the most reckless man I ever knew!' Gimli adds and I can hear him laughing. I see movement from the people who gathered around Gimli and the person he is talking with. I try to hear something, someone who is speaking to Gimli, but I don't hear anything. As he is just appeared, I see Legolas, standing still in the middle of the road. 'Le ab-dollen' (You're late) My fuzzy mind needs his time to think, to see what is happening in front of me. 'You look terrible' Legolas continues. And he laughs.

His laugh!

My knees give in when my mind clicks in. I cry out when I hit the stones. All eyes are on me. But I do not care. He is alive!

He stares right at me and Legolas steps aside. The princeling smiles happily and within two steps Aragorn is with me. He lifts me up, like I weight nothing and his lips collide with mine. My arms slide like automatically around his neck, pulling him closer.

I see the People of Rohan look at me, at us.

Ashamed I pull away but Aragorn only laughs. He kisses my forehead. 'Meleth nin' (My love) He sets me down and my feet hit the ground. Now steady he wraps an arm around my waist and leads me, with Legolas and Gimli following us to a weapon chamber nearby. 'Man agórer angin?' (What happened to you?) I ask him when we are truly alone. 'What did she say?' I hear Gimli whisper towards Legolas, the princeling chuckles. 'Master Gimli, Eleniel only asked Aragorn what happened'

'Oh' Is all the Dwarf says. Aragorn chuckles and his grip around my waist tightens. 'I was stuck and I fell together with the beast into the river beneath the cliff. Brego found me and brought me back to you' Aragorn exclaims. But his eyes turn dark. 'But when I was on my way to you, I saw also an army coming this way. Ten Thousand at last' I gasp at his words.

We are doomed.

The king doomed us all.

'Were we waiting for?' Gimli cries out. 'We have to warn the king!' Aragorn his hand grasps my wrist and together with Legolas and Gimli we run towards the hall of Helm's Deep.
