"If you will not die for us, you cannot ask us to die for you."

After we have eaten something, luckily not the stew Éowyn had made before, we said goodnight to each other and went to bed. But I can't sleep. Memories haunts my dreams or maybe visions. I don't know. Every time I close my eyes and try to sleep, I see the same thing.

Myself, dying at the hand of the Witch King of Angmar. My thought are interrupted by footsteps leading away from a tent. I slip out bed and put quickly my boots on and take my sword out of its sheath. In the dark I see Aragorn, he is rushing towards the kings tent.

What he is going to do?

He enters the kings tent and seconds later the king leaves his own tent.
What is going on?

Again a secret council I didn't know off?

I walk fast to the tent but stop before the entrance. I hear a voice I haven't heard in a long while. Elrond!

'She will not survive her quest. That was his gift for her when she was born'

Is he talking about me?

'But is there noting we can do to save her? By the Valar! I love her!' Aragorn cries out. My heart skips a beat when I hear his words.

'There is something. It is said in her prophesy that she can be saved from dead by a king without a crown' Silence follows. 'I am that king?' Aragorn says quietly. 'You said seconds ago you love her, isn't that the answer?' Elrond replies. 'Sauron's power grows, her strength wanes. Her destiny comes closer with every day. The Shadow is upon us, Aragorn, the end has come' Elrond continues. 'It will not be our end, but his' Aragorn says fiercely. 'You ride to war, but not to victory. Sauron's armies march on Minas Tirith - this you know - but in secret he sends another force which will attack from the river. A fleet of Corsair ships sails from the South. They'll be in the city in two days... You're outnumbered, Aragorn. You need more men'

'There are none' Aragorn says in defeat. Silence follows. 'There are those who dwell in the mountain' Elrond states and suddenly the wind rushes through the tent, lifting hangings and I hear goblets fall. They haven't seen me.

I think.

'Murderers, traitors - You would call upon them to fight? They believe in nothing. They answer to no-one!' Aragorn says in an angry tone. 'They will answer to the King of Gondor' Elrond replies calmly. I hear a sword draw from its scabbard. Metal on leather. 'Andúril, flame of the West, forged from the Shards of Narsil' Elrond announces.

So this was Ada and Naneth's plan. This is how the sword comes to Aragorn. Elrond himself, the man who raised him, raised me in a certain way. 'Sauron will not have forgotten the Sword of Elendil. The blade that was broken shall return to Minas Tirith' I hear my love say to Lord Elrond. 'The man who can wield the power of this sword can summon to him an army more deadly than any that walks this earth' Silence follows. 'Put aside the Ranger - become who you were born to be - take the Dimholt road' Lord Elrond says. It seems a command. Aragorn has to do this. The air around the tent is heavy. I hear Elrond sighs. 'Ónen i-Estel Edain' (I give hope to Men)

'Ú-chebin estel anim' (I keep none for myself) Aragorn replies and I hear that the sword is put back in its sheath. He is coming out! They can't see me! I look franticly around, looking for a place to hide. But for a she-elf, I am not so graceful. My legs tremble from all the information I've heard. He is the one who saves me! He is going to take his rightful place on the throne! He is fulfilling his destiny. 'Man cerig hi?' (What are you doing here?) I jump at his sudden voice. I turn around, he looks at me in wonder. 'I heard your footsteps. I was curious what you were about going to do' I say quietly and bow my head in shame. He lifts my head gently up by my chin. 'Ci velethron e-guil nîn' (You are the love of my life) He says while I see his eyes flash with love. 'You don't have to be ashamed for me. I am not angry you heard the conversation, because I am certain you have something to do with it' I feel myself blush. 'Yes, my parents, my mother, she showed me the sword' Aragorn smiles and closes the distant between us and his lips fold around my own. When we part, his eyes are looking sad. 'I shall do what Lord Elrond said. I shall take to road to Dimholt'

'Alone!' I cry out. He quickly embraces me, trying to comfort me. 'You know I have to. Ride to war with Théoden, that's your destiny-'

'And you save me, I know' I say interrupting him. Again he smiles and he releases me. I steal a kiss and when part our ways again. 'Gi Melin, Aragorn' I whisper under my breath but certain he hears me. 'I love you too' I hear him say when I walks away.

When I return to my tent, I see Gimli and Legolas waiting for me. 'Lassie, where were you?' Again I feel myself blushing. 'Aragorn, he-I' Quickly I shake my head. 'Lord Elrond has given Aragorn the re-forged sword of Narsil, now it's called Andúril, flame of the West and Aragorn has accepted his birthright to the throne of Gondor' I say in one breath. Legolas smiles. 'He took his time. I am glad'

'So the Ranger is king uh' Gimli says with a grin. 'Yes, and he is going to take the road to Dimholt. He wants to go alone, but he needs his friends. I have my own destiny, you both know it. So I stay here with Merry. But you two have to help him!' I urge my two friends. 'Of course we are going to help the lass!' Gimli exclaims almost angry. 'Good' I say and embrace the dwarf. Legolas steps forwards and hugs me too. 'Hortho le huil vaer' (May useful winds speed you on) Legolas states. 'We meet in Gondor. Harthon cened le ennas' (I hope to see you there) Legolas adds. I wave my friends goodbye when they are going to prepare their horse. Now I have to find Merry and Éowyn.

The dawn is already upon us and I haven't found Merry or Éowyn yet. But when I return from my search round and go left where the kings tents is standing, I see Éowyn talking with her uncle. She stands firm, her face is unreadable. '-Duty? ...No, I would have you smile again - not grieve for those whose time has come' Théoden takes his niece's hand in his and she lifts her head. 'You shall live to see these days renewed' He says and smiles at her. He lifts her face so she looks into his eyes. 'No more despair' He whispers and kisses her forehead. Then he sees me, nods his head and releases her. I rush towards Éowyn. 'Do you not have to prepare yourself?' Éowyn asks me as she takes me in. She is right, I have only my sword in my hand, but no armour on. Around us men are getting ready to leave. Fires are doused, tents are pulled down, horses are saddled. 'Yes, and you are going with me. And I have to search for Merry' Éowyn grins as I take her wrist and lead her to my tent. Quickly we help each other dress for battle, I with my corset, breastplate and forearm protectors and of course my belt with my sheath and the circlet Éowyn gave me. She is dressed up like a Rohirrim soldier, her hair hidden from sight through the helmet. We go outside and pull my tent down and saddle our horse quickly. The king and Éomer are already moving!

In a large row the men leave the camp. Éowyn and I ride next to each other, both looking out for Merry. 'There!' Éowyn says quietly and point to the right. There he stands, his head down, a tiny figure as the Rohirrim ride by, we are a jangling sea of helmets, shields and banners. 'I take him' Éowyn states and moves her horse closer to Merry. When she rides past him, she plucks him off the ground. She plonks him down on her saddle. I see his bewildered look. I chuckle.

Good. Now we are all fighting.

Éowyn is back, next to me and Merry sees me. 'Eleniel!' He cries out in happiness. 'Merry! I am happy that you are joining us.

'Us?' He twists around, looking up to Éowyn. 'Ride with me! With us!' Éowyn says now very serious.

She is in battle modus already.

'My lady!' Merry says again happily and looks back at me. 'Where are the others?'

'Aragorn has accepted his rightful place on the throne of Gondor. He, Legolas and Gimli take another road. One he must take. But we see each other on the battlefield'

'Move out - move out!' Éomer shouts above the din. 'Ride! Ride now, for Gondor!' Théoden kings screams and all of us, thousands of horsemen ride out after their king.

While my own king has taken another deadly road, luckily Legolas and Gimli are with him. I have to keep Merry and Éowyn save in this battle.

Mithrandir and Pippin shall I meet in Gondor, that I know for sure.

And I pray to my parents, to all the Valar above in the nightly sky. That they keep Sam and Frodo save and help them in their quest.

That I pray and hope, before I meet me destiny.

So they are on their way to battle!

Eleniel is with the day coming closer to her destiny!
