Anne had prepared herself for school and kept reminding herself of the long weeks that she hadn't self harmed. She thought school would be her downfall and would make her relapse. She wasn't ready, but she was willing to try as hard as she could to stay strong.

"Do you have everything?" Jenna asked her and she nodded.

"Mom!" Robbie's voice echoed throughout the house.

"I'm in Anne's room!" She yelled back.

Seconds later, Robbie's head peaked through the door. He was scrambling to get himself ready for college. He didn't feel ready at all even though he had went to orientation only a couple days prior.

"Robbie, you need to calm down. Everything will be fine and you're not alone" Jenna tried easing his anxiety ever since last night, but he was too caught up in his own head.

"I'm just" he breathed "I don't want to walk into the wrong class and embarrass myself"

"It happens to everyone. Why do you think Tyler dropped out? If college doesn't turn out the way you expected it and it's not for you, then we can find your passion. I'm here for you and so is Tyler and your siblings" at this point, Jenna had to rub down his arm as a form of reassurance.

"Okay, but have you seen my shoes? I put them in front of my door so I wouldn't be too anxious to forget them."he asked, crossing his arms.

"Yeah I moved them because I didn't want anyone to trip over them. They're next to the front door" she said

"Good luck Anne" Robbie said, before walking out the door.

"Anne Joseph" the teacher called her name as she was taking attendance. No one knew that she was mute except for the supervisors. This should be great.

Anne raised her hand, and everyone turned in her direction. A girl next to her had given her a toothy smile, which Anne tried to reciprocate as best she could.

"Hi" the girl whispered. "I'm Genevieve"

Anne stayed quiet until the girl spoke again.

"What's your name?" She finally asked.

Anne gestured to her mouth and throat, then made a criss cross sign with her fingers.

"You can't talk?" The girl caught on, and Anne nodded.

"That's okay, you can write it"

Anne pointed to her decorated folder that Jenna had designed. It said her name in blue and yellow letters with flowers around it.

"Anne is a pretty name" Genevieve said, and Anne smiled, signing thank you.

"Does that mean thank you?" Genevieve watched as Anne moved her fingers.

Anne nodded yes.

"That's so cool, I want to learn sign language. Will you teach me?" She asked enthusiastically.

And Anne nodded again, smiling to herself that the day was not going as horrible as she thought it would go"

Hey guys. I lied haha this is not gonna be the last chapter I want to write a couple more chapters because I feel like if I end it you guys wouldn't get to really know the full story after their adoption. So I'm gonna keep writing until I think the story is well told.

Anyways I was ranked at #54 on the rankings for this book yesterday and then I checked today and i went back to #104. It kinda sucks but at least I know you guys are enjoying the book.

Thank you for reading and commenting and voting.
