chapter 37

You were on your way home from work from your first day back after maternity leave. Zac was watching Lily all day. You were having that separation anxiety from the baby and Zac because you were always with them all these months. all you wanted to do was see them. You walk into the house and hear screaming from your baby girl and Zac was cursing. Oh No.

"Zac whats wrong." You say turning the corner.

"Y/n." Zac said standing up holding a screaming Lily in his arms.

"What the hell happened!" you yell taking Lily seeing her bleeding from her ear.

"She just fell." Zac said quietly

"How did she just FALL?! She cant walk!" You scream knowing he dropped her down the stairs.

"She was squirming and the stairs were so slippery, and I was on the second to last stair y/n and she fell out of my hands im so sorry." He pleads

"This is why I should have stayed home. Oh my god i have to clean her up now." You say taking her to the sink and a hot towel and trying to wipe her ear. She was resentful, wouldn't stop screaming and crying.

"Let me help you babe." Zac says trying to help.

"Ohhh do not 'babe' me, you just dropped our BABY."

"I DIDN'T MEAN TO! YOU THINK I DID THIS ON PURPOSE!?" He yells making Lily be quiet.

"I didn't say that Zac just, just, I was nervous something like this would happen."

"Why, do you not trust me?" He says offensive

"We will finish this when she is asleep." You hiss at him

Zac stayed quiet. You cleaned up Lily and walked upstairs to her room and laid her in her crib. She fell instantly asleep and you walked into your room seeing Zac laying on the bed watching tv. You were both silent to each other and you undressed and got in the shower. After you were ready for bed you sat on the end of the bed and sat there waiting for Zac to say something, like a sorry.

"So....." You say after what seemed like eternity.

"So...what." Zac said like nothing happened not even looking at you. You were furious.

"Are you serious. Your going to act like nothing happened even tho you dropped our child." You said standing up

"I did not forget its just she is fine, right." he says sitting up turning the tv off.

"You MotherFucker! Your so cool with it! Stop acting like a teenager whos on a hangover......your a FATHER now which means you have to take responsibility for what you did, she could have died Zac." You say tearing up thinking about your other baby you lost.

"I'm not being immature i am the one who stayed home with her all day!"

"Oh trust me! If i was the one to stay home this would have never happened!" You yell

"For god's sake your over reacting.'' Zac says dryly

"Get out of the bed. Your sleeping downstairs. I don't even want to see you right now!" You tear up

"FINE!" Zac says sitting up grabbing his pillow and a blanket ad walking out of the room. You lay on the bed and wipe your eyes and take a deep breath. You call Kayla and try and calm down.

"And then he just walked out."

"Well you did tell him to leave"

"but he doesn't care that he dropped her"

"y/n he does, he's just not showing it."

"He didn't apologize."

"Give him time."

"How much time."

"I don't know hun but he will trust me because he loves you and that kid."

"I don't think so anymore."

"y/n stop being crazy, he loves you so much."

"And how do you know that..."

"He's talking to my boyfriend right now in the other room, about how much he screwed up."

"AWWWW really?"

"Yep but do not tell him I told you, your not supposed to know."

"Okay but i'm still mad at him."

"and you have every right to."

"Thanks for making me feel better."

"Thats what best friends are for."

"Love you. I have to go."

"Okay bye love you."

"byeee."

You hang up and get under the covers. Loneliness and cold. You hate fighting with Zac especially when it get a part where he sleeps on the couch. You get out of bed and go into your baby's room. You hated doing this but you wanted to so bad. You picked her up and brought her in the bed with you. After all day and them the innocent all you wanted to do was be with her. She laid where Zac normally would and you held her tight. You were about to finally fall asleep when you hear something that woke you. You just thought it was Zac when you heard it again all of a sudden you heard

"BANG!" Was that a gun shot?!
