 Hanging out and hooking up

What do I wear to go to a bar where my first love and my future maybe are both in the same room? I flip through my closet and finally decide on a sophisticate looking dress, oh shit, who am I kidding, only myself. I toss the dress on my bed and decide on a yellow summer dress and a pair of flip flops. I pull my hair into a ponytail and dab on a little makeup before running out the door to my little beetle.

I park in the bar parking lot, noticing right off that's it's not as busy as it was the last time that I was here, making me wonder who Alex was referring to when he said we usually go to the bar after work?

I find my way to the door and sit down on a barstool. There is someone new behind the bar this time. "Can I get a bud light, and do you know where Sabastian is?"

"Bud light's two fifty and Bash is in the backroom shooting pool with the Sherriff," he mumbles, while digging in the cooler for my beer.

I place three dollars on the bar and grab my beer before I saunter toward the game room. I stop just before rounding the corner into the room when I hear Alex say, "Yeah, she sure is a looker and a heart breaker too."

"Who are we eavesdropping on," Del whispers from behind me.

I spin around, "Good Lord woman, you scared me."

"Sorry," she laughs, "so who are we listening in on," she whispers again.

"I wasn't eavesdropping, I simply thought it wise to let them finish their conversation before entering."

She gives me a look that says she doesn't believe me before shoving me in the door.

Sabastian starts laughing, "Geez, Trina first the cops haul you in and now the mayor. I think you need to learn to behave yourself."

I spin around and glare at Del, "You didn't tell me that you were the mayor."

"I guess it just never came up," she shrugs it off like it's no big deal.

"That explains a lot," I mumbled out loud to myself.

I glance at Alex, who is watching me over the beer bottle that's tipped to his lips. Damn he may be a cop, but he should be illegal. He's way too irresistibly sexy standing there with a pool cue in one hand and a bottle to his lips. He's making me hot just watching him. Whoa girl, calm down, I reprimand myself yet again. Every time I'm around this man, I have to remind myself he's not mine and I'm the reason he's not.

"Hey, did you find my note," Sabastian asks, making Alex choke on his beer.

Serves him right for reading something that was none of his business. "Yeah, the doctor left me a prescription for a night out with.... Well...... the doctor," I giggle.

"Damn that is so incredibly romantic," Delilah chimes in as she removes the pool stick out of Bash's hand.

I roll my eyes at her, "Um.... Sure, I could use a night out, I suppose." The entire time hoping he's not planning on just bringing me back here.

"Alright how about Friday around six?"

"She won't be off work by six," Alex growls before hitting a ball into the corner pocket, knowing full well he always leaves long before that.

"Oh shit, I forgot you're working for the grouch," He turns to glare at Alex. "How about eight and I'll pick you up."

"Perfect," I say feeling extremely uncomfortable discussing a date with Alex in the room especially since him and Bash are best friends.
