Memories

The sound of laughter bounces off the walls of stone that surround the cove, mingling with the burble of the waterfall as the water crashes into the pond below. The sun peaks through the clouded sky fighting to warm the water, the constant flow making it nearly impossible.

Alex slams his hands into the water forcing his palms outward, causing water to shoot up at me.

I turn away trying to keep the water from hitting me in the face. I splash water back as him over and over again not looking where I'm going still trying to keep the water he's splashing at me out of my face. Alex captures me, folding me in his arms before pulling both of us under.

I squeal after coming up out of the water, quickly swimming away from him. Strong nimble finger wrap around each of my sides dragging me backward in the water, until strong arms wrap firmly around my waist.

"Where are you going?" Alex whispers in my ear before playfully nibbling on it, enticing a giggle from me as I try to wiggle free, knowing that soon he will tickle me. His arms remain firmly wrapped around my waist and soon I feel his lips graze the side of my neck. I lay my head back on his shoulder, his kisses delivered with such tenderness making my body instantly respond.

I spin around in his arms wrapping my legs around his waist while my lips find his.

I love kissing Alex, his mouth so warm and inviting, filling my senses with the coolness of mint along with salt from the water that lingers on his lips.

I barely notice the air on my legs as Alex carries my to the shore, gently laying me in the soft sand as he slides his body between my legs...

"Trina," I hear his voice through my daze, turning slightly to look back at him, letting my eyes travel from the hands that only moments ago were sliding up my body in my memory. My eyes travel up the strong arms that held me tight as he carried me out of the water to his lips that used to love exploring me.

Alex takes a step forward, my eyes landing on those dark eyes holding me in a trance, making me forget what's become of us. His faces closes in on me, now only inches from mine. "Trina," his words carried on a breath that lingers between us.

"Hey, you guys, we are heading out!" Carly yells from the door, snapping us out of the frozen moment.

I step away, giving Alex a side glance as I pass him finding my way to the door. When I step inside I'm bombarded by curious glances. I ignore them, "Thanks for all the hard work you guys have been doing."

"Anytime," Del says as her arm lays over my shoulder pulling me into a hug before leaving.

I turn slightly spotting Alex leaning against the door jam, watching me. "I think I'm going to spend the night here tonight. I have the table and my bed came in today...." My voice trails off, thinking Alex could care less where I stay. I wrap my arm around my middle resting my other elbow on it while I chew my nails nervously.

Alex pushes himself off the jam of the door, shoving his hands in his pockets as he takes a few steps inside, letting the screen door shut behind him. "This place is coming along, pretty quickly. I'm Sorry I haven't been around much the last two weeks. I would have loved to see it transform." He says breaking some of the tension between us.

"Yeah, Levi's crew is doing a great job." I step closer to the living room. "I was thinking about having them leave this wall out but I wanted to ask you about it first."

Alex moves to stand beside me, "It opens the room up and would give you more space." The kitchen and the living room were separated before the construction crew had to tear out the old wall due to rotten studs and mold growing on the inside of the walls.
